I am NOT at all thrilled about this, even though I'd like that Céline should get more pr, but not like this.

And even though I very much welcome a female president candidate, I am not sure mrs Clinton is someone I personally would support.

And I am glad about the fact that Céline takes political actions (Larry King about the Hurricane, and the speeches and backup vocal changes with messages about being against the war in Iraq. :thumbsup2: ) I think lending her track to Hillary is a rather passive way to take political actions.

Can we stop with the political talks too? Its just a song. A song that a prominent political figure has chosen which happens to be sung by our favorite entertainer, its not necessarily an endorsement. I'm happy the song was chosen, but I really hate this political talk because I don't want to vent my views and smear the positive connotations of the song, the singer, or the person who chose it.

And besides Celine has strong political views but she usually keeps them to herself, but i can tell you right now Celine and Rene are hardcore Democrat supporters! :yes:

you saw how her criticism slipped out emotionally when she was on Larry King saying how they can send planes to kill people half way around the world in seconds but they have no infrastructure in place to help their own people in their own backyard waiting for weeks. you know she and Rene probably talk about this stuff in private, because she already had pre-formed opinions about the republican goverment that slipped put on Larry King :yes: :thumbsup2:

Hillary's first video requesting theme songs was on Moveon.org site a few days ago. Initially, I voted for A Beautiful Day but changed my vote to You & I

ok i have a question about You & I being selected for Hillary's theme song.

Do you guys think it was the general american public or us from the forum that swayed the vote.

It was a combination, But TEAMCELINE made a major contribution to the votes! If we don't get Celine involved to help peace who knows which country will be next on Americas list! I live here and I am afraid, so I am turning to my Hero for help! And I know with Hillary Celine will be allowed to help!

Evidently this is turning into a foolish politically motivated free-for-all so I guess I'll just join the fun:

Its always amazing to me that Celine, a Canadian with very little knowledge of American politics (or really Canadian politics for that matter) can even think to exert influence on our political system.

Celine is a beautiful person both in voice, spirit, and in person but if she blindly sides with the Democratic party based on a skewed vision of peace then I feel sorry for her. It wouldn't surprise me though since most all celebrities tend to be liberal in their views. But before you jump on the bandwagon of the Democratic version of "peace", read about these SAME PROBLEMS that were occurring before the last World War and then think about what the Democrats might do to have "peace at any cost". By saying "you live here", I can only assume you mean here in the US. If so, I would be afraid if "peace" means negotiating with terrorist nations such as Iran and North Korea. Before you think I'm a Republican, NO I dont think that war is the answer either. I'm actually for neither party. There is a better, smarter way of handling foreign affairs but the "big 2" never get the vote of the people that realize it.

I love Celine. I always have and will love Celine. Her music has moved my soul for 11 years now and will most likely to do so until we are both dead and gone, but I truly wish she would stay what she's been now for a long long time - an incredible singer and entertainer....an ambassador of love and music for the world, and stay the heck out of something that she just doesn't understand.

How very presumptuous of you to think that you UNDERSTAND and Celine doesn't. Has she endorsed either political party officially? Has she expressed her political views? Has she favored one or another candidate? The answer to all is no. She hasn't. And yet, because her song was chosen for Hillary's campaign you "think" Celine doesn't understand anything about Politics. If someone has a different view point than yours it doesn't mean they don't understand but rather sees it differently.

And Brasilero: No Celine will NOT show up at any Hillary's appearances across America. Rene made it very clear last week in a Montreal newspaper that he and Celine will stay away from US politics altogether. But I thought your little scenario was funny :giggle:

I think if something like the above were to happen, Celine would loose many many fans. :shrug: I could even be one. I have lost respect for many celebrities over the years because of their hypocritical selfish political views. :nono: For Celine to endorse someone who is totally the opposite of her own morals and thinking would be a sell out. :yes:

Last night, the group, “Indian-Americans for Hillary” held a fundraiser at the Sheraton New York Hotel in Manhattan. In some ways this was the coming out party for the Indian-American community’s ability to fundraise and organize for a high-profile candidate, and it came just days after an Obama opposition research document blasted Clinton's ties to Indian-American donors (Obama later apologized for the document).

Clinton spoke of her and former President Bill Clinton’s visits to India, and praised the Indian-American community’s commitment to education. Her speech ended to a standing ovation and the familiar strains of KT Tunstall’s “Suddenly I See.” But nowhere to be heard was her anointed campaign tune, Celine Dion’s “You and I.”
