She was abso flawless. Better in fact. Immensite sounded amazing live- so effortless- it suits her voice so much. And SLV- which she has often been iffy on- perfect. She has the power, control, emotion and technique.

 

 

Hopefully we'll see this with some of the new album and its promotion. I think she got cold feet in the UK and decided to play it safe. It doesn't bother me. Our shallow culture is more interested in appearance- so if she looked and 'performed' great (by all accounts, that she did) that'll be fine. Sorry bout going back to the Great British Mime again.

Every song was flawless! It's amazing how she could sound this way at this stage of her career. I've never seen a better live performance after she started her Vegas gig. The intro to SSD gave me goosebumps at first, I love how the audience were going crazy when she walked to the front of the stage. :clapping1: :wub: This is definitely one of her best concerts ever, absolute perfection. :yes: :in_love:

 

Did anyone else find the part where Celine started to laugh during the beginning of Sous Le Vent hilarious? :sofunny:

Canadians people - Does anyone know that little girl - not little girl hehe but a girl around 11-12years who sings a song tht goes like this " I got the music... I got the music in me..." - I just love her performance! She sings pretty good!!!!! :)

PS: It just goes for the people who saw the entire show.

Thanks for the vids and caps :clap: Celine looks so good (although I don't really like her dress) and the songs were all great :kicking: :wub: I also really love the audience reaction just before she sang "S'il Suffisait D'Aimer" :in_love: Celine seems very touched and almost like she was about to cry, she's too cute ^_^

 

question - why is the volume so low on the videos? on the mp3's it's fine...am i the only one with this problem?

It's fine here, this isn't recorded by JP (with the low volume). The audio is encoded from a AC3 file. :D

Simply STUNNING!!!!!!!!! Vocally flawless. Only problem for me was I'm not much for Garou's voice and that older man singing at the end I wasn't much for. Other than that LOVED it amnd the final song gave me the goosebumps!

 

Amazing quality guys, well worth the wait thanks sooooo much!

It certainly was worth the wait :flowers:

 

S'il suffisait d'aimer: Great performance. A true Celine original. Nobody can sing it like her. There is something warm and comforting in her interpretation. I don't know what happened to her that night, but this is why Celine is one of the great singers. Take away all the fake glitter, the tons of make-up, the pimp-my-**otch barbie outfits, the lipped exaggerations and just give her a song like this and she'll nail it. This is a true, heartfelt performance.

 

Immensité: I didn't feel this one, sorry. Sounded more like some cold and mechanical vocal excercise sliding over the words and the music. It really lacks what made the performance of S'il suffisait d'aimer so good. Never during the whole performance did I have the feeling that she FELT what she sang. Vocal perfection, yes ok, but what's left if you take that away?!

Tout près du bonheur: Or: how to get the best of some rock-pop blandness. There is something quite refreshing about this performance. The emotions are back again. She sounds warm during the parts where she duets with Marc Dupre, she lets loose during the solo parts. Sure it could have been more and still she's holding back, but even those little "outbursts" are wonderful.

Sous le vent: Nothing really new in her interpretation, but she delivers it beautifully. Garou still sounds like he's torn between being glitter on Broadway and being every mother's soft-rock dream son-in-law, but Celine delivers what this song is about, taking us on a journey. It's dreamy and comforting what she does with it.

 

Si Dieu existe: This for me is on par with S'il suffisait d'aimer. Vocally correct like all the other songs, but standing out, because she understands it, you can hear that. There are still signs of the über-diva mannierisms, she won't ever get rid of them, but she delivers the light and laid-back side of the song as well. She really interprets every word as it should be.

 

Quand on n'a que l'amour: She really hit it again. I won't comment on the superfluous choir humming (wtf?) or the rose-bon-kitsch Richard Cleyderman-worthy piano parts (that would easily make Brel turn in his grave), they are easily forgettable when you hear how she sings it. Once again it's Celine the interpret winning over Celine the vocal acrobat.

 

So, it was a really great mini-concert, I have to say. Another proove that Celine isn't just a hair-cut or page so and so in a fashion magazine or a bunch of power notes. Give her the right songs, the right environment and she's a real singer who understands what she sings and delivers it the right way. I'm overwhelmed a bit right now hehehe
