I definitively prefer her French music over the English. It has more depth, more meaning and even more emotion. you can feel Celine puts really everything into it. However, I would be sorry still if she hasn't recorded songs in English.

I love both too. English because those are the songs I know the best and I can sing along with them and Frech for the beautiful melodies. :)

No, it's the other way around. Celine falls in love with a boy she can never have because he's gay.

I don't speak French either, but the quality of her French songs has inspired me to listen to them over and over again, all the way from her earliest work... And it just captures me so! I loove her in English but I just love her to the power of 10 in French...

Besides, I think it's quite usual for a singer to be more authentic and 'true' in her mother tongue... I think she's even said this herself in an interview...

:mdr: @ Anu!

Maybe someday, she will follow in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and adopt a child from Cambodia. Then she'll have to sing in Cambodian!   ^_^

P.S. For this topic.. yes I love both French and English. Her voice, performance, personality, and charm makes them special.

I've been listening to radio station (That have 24 hrs. of Celine) all this morning. I think the English songs sound great. I like the French songs as well. English songs get a bad rap.

I like them both!

Cool, is that an online radio station? Do you have a link? please.

Wow! The majority enjoy her french music more. I don't think it's so cut and dry for me. She's had some amazing English songs, and of course some amazing French songs. I can see the point of preferring french, and I think naturally she is going to be able to express herself more in her native tongue. I can also see that a lot of her English work is shallow and commercial, and not as well thought out and personal as her french work, but I don't speak French, or understand a word of it so lyrically the songs are not very important to me, its her voice. I think she's shown us some incredible vocals in both languages. It comes down to each individual song. I know some of her french songs are more unique than her English and that makes them special (thinking of Tous Les Blues Sont Ecris Pour Toi).

I also think that french music and english music are very different, and you can't compare them fairly. Obviously singing in America tends to be very commercial success driven, whereas she can express herself differently and do different things with her french music that might not fly here in the U.S. There's always that pressure to put out a huge selling album here, and top everything she's previously done, but also keeping with the times and releasing Britney Spears songs that just don't suit her style. I think we'll see more experimentation later in her English career now that she's established herself in music history and she doesn't have anything to lose. (I hope anyway)

I do think her voice on D'elles is more expressive than it's ever been, and she puts an extraordinary amount of emotion and feeling into most of the songs. It's hard to listen to an English song right now knowing how incredible she sings on this new album.

I love both of them equally. I started off with her English music and then I went into her French stuff. All I could say is it's incredible to hear her sing in her mother tongue. I can say this proudly without a doubt in my mind, that Celine is my main reason for me to learn French and to speak it well some day.

I do love both but I'm gonna go for the English ones only because I can understand tham lol! People keep talking about how deep her French recordings are, I can't see that bercasue I don't speak a word of French.

When I hear the French music I love the Celines voice, her passion, melodies and sound of the music and I do wish I could understand what Celine is singing about. Her earlier French videos are a lot better than most of her English stuff though. Although the last few videos we've had have really just been Celine singing the song, I've come to expect more and that has not been delivered. As for the English music I get invlolved with those more because I can relate more.

I do agree with you,

It does not matter which language does she sing in, The main idea is her own way of singing, which impress all

of us.

I love both of them, but in terms of understanding the lyrics I prefer English.I have listened to he immensite,it

deeply impressed me ,although I couldn't understand it.I hope she sang some of her new french songs in english. And I count every second till the new English album release time.
