Bellamy Posted May 5, 2007 at 06:40 PM Posted May 5, 2007 at 06:40 PM Grégory Lemarchal died on April 30, 2007. He suffered from Cystic Fibrosis. He won Star Academy and was a big fan of Céline. He also performed a virtual duet with Céline on Sous Le Vent in 2004. We have a topic about him here: http://www.celinedionforum.com/index.php?showtopic=22977 Celine made a video message to him, and it was broadcasted last night on TF1. Fanny! Posted May 5, 2007 at 06:47 PM Posted May 5, 2007 at 06:47 PM This show was so touching. I watched it this afternoon and couldn't help crying. He was such a talented, determined man. And Céline's message was very touching too, I knew she'd send him a last message. I'm glad to know that he got the chance to meet her. manilou Posted May 5, 2007 at 08:19 PM Posted May 5, 2007 at 08:19 PM Very bad thing. Nobody should die so young. I think he will rule the French charts next week, though. He's #1 and 2 on amazon.fr. Fanny! Posted May 5, 2007 at 08:53 PM Posted May 5, 2007 at 08:53 PM So sad, here, everyone has the feeling to have lost a close friend Exactly. We all knew he was sick, but no one expected him to die that fast. He hid it so well, when he was singing you would NEVER have guessed that he was that sick and that he was suffering. Like they've said during the show, singing just carried him in another world, his own world... and just eased the pain for a while. Trav33068 Posted May 5, 2007 at 09:54 PM Posted May 5, 2007 at 09:54 PM (edited) I don't know what to say... I feel bad for just discovering his talent via the tribute message from Celine. I couldn't understand but made out a few words. What is so touching not just his voice but the passion you see in his eyes while he was performing. Fanny! Posted May 6, 2007 at 08:52 AM Posted May 6, 2007 at 08:52 AM Anyone can tell what did Celine say about him?She said she was sorry for his family, she had the chance to meet him in october 2005 when she went to Star Academy. Also, she was astonished when she saw him sing "et maintenant" (french song obviously). To finish, she said she understood the pain that his family has because her own niece died when she was only 16. Though his unreleased single "De temps en temps" (From time to time" in English) is yet to be launched on June 11, exactly 40 days after his tragic death. A week after the release, the formal launch of the Gregory Lemarchal Foundation will take place. Sales from the album will proceed to the said foundation. Quote
