BEYONCE KNOWLES' sister SOLANGE is to take over as the pop superstar's manager once their father Mathew Knowles steps aside in five years time.

Solange, who has enjoyed pop success of her own, has revealed she's the heiress to the music mogul's MusicWorld empire, which also includes a record label.

The pretty 20-year-old explains, "In five years I'll be answering those calls. I'll be the president and CEO." In the meantime, talented Solange, who has also acted in a string of movies, is busy pitching songs she has written to stars like Reba McIntyre and Celine Dion.

She will do just fine, Shaun! It's not about the album itself - Miracle could have been certified 5 million in the US alone if she would be touring heavily and promoting both singles Beautiful Boy and Miracle. Sony never did a thing and they won't this time around either. This album is Céline's true comeback since 2002 - an English album that she will promote classically - by herself, moving from city to city, giving interviews for local newspapers and doing interviews for local shows. I wouldn't worry about longevity this time at all.

You must know, julien, Céline's Englis career doesn't have any pretence to be artistically valid - the best album you can compare this new English CD to is FIY as it was the latter where Mottolla was out asking the hottest producers and songwriters to write hits hits hits for Céline!

 

They also by the way thought they could have Phil Spector abourd for ADDITIONAL timeless factor but he wanted 2 years for his quality and they didn't have time, they didn't want to take time. Céline even recorded "Because You Loved Me" as the very last addition just to make sure she will score another movie hit! It was all well planned and strategically measured. Just as it is now. Remember: It took 2 years for FIY to be released. And it will take more or less 2 years for this new English album to be released and recorded as well!

 

Considering the effort they are putting into this new English CD - this time seemingly WITHOUT any help of Sony's CEOs as they seem simply disinterested towards Céline now - it may turn out to be as much "high quality" as "Falling Into You" was. And in my opinion FIY wasn't about high quality - it was about the quality that was IN around that time - listen to Alanis Morisette's Little Pill, To Toni Braxton's Secrets or Whitney Houston's The Preacher's Wife or even Mariah's Butterfly - these albums exactly like FIY have been produced in a glamorous high quality way with the best technology available and they were not necessarily all that high quality (not all of the at least). You can't mistake sugarcoated cover for quality.

 

The same will apply to the new English CD - it will be refined, amazingly produced with hot beats, rocky riffs and edgy vocals but there will be little essence behind the emotions. Just like FIY.

Yeah, I was thinking about that while writting my message. The problem is that before, I wasn't expecting so much artistical quality for her work in english....As the french part was there. Thus the pop, voice, easy listening, dramatic aspect of her work was fine for me, and even more it was a good complementarity. I know that you won't agree with me but now that her french carreer is fallen so down thanks to the help of my dear friend Veneruzo, and while I find her voice more interesting now in english (summertime....) maybe now I care more about the quality aspect for her english albums.

Remember she will be off from mid-October till late November, after that..she only has about 2-3 weeks of shows and that's it. She will be in Europe during her break promoting her *ss off and I'm sure she'll also do something in the US. Hopefully the album will do very well around that time and when she's back to promote & tour (Jan/Feb) the album may need another kick, which is precisely what's she's going to do..

 

And don't forget the end of "A New Day..." will be paired with a lot of publicity and of course there's the release of the DVD..

Somebody on the French board posted the album will come out November or December and even Sony CEO on his blog said "later this year" so it may not be as bad as with OH or ANDHC where the latter was killed by Goodbye so fast (the irony!). If the will launch it in November the album will sell lots and lots while having Céline and the NBC special make sure the sales won't plummet that fast. I am here more optimistic than ever! Yes, even for the UK. :D

But julien, you are merely concentrating on the musical level of her French work! So may I understand your main concern is the music, oui? Because her English career has been offering FAR superior musical backgrounds than her French one for a decade now! Take Nature Boy, Right In Front Of You, Just Walk Away, Refuse To Dance, It's All Coming Back To Me - they're all really high quality, refined music with some depth behind it and they BETTER be as they don't have as much lyrical depth as her French songs.

 

I know what Veneruso did to Céline's career and I don't like the fact one tiny bit but he only composed 4 songs for D'elles which is not the end of the world but is a troublesome fact to accept I agree! Yet in the songs on D'elles you find some honesty that shines through, some simplicity that you would not expect from her English recordings. D'elles has some real depth to offer, even tho it is not as musically refined as we would like it to be. Nothing will ever compare to D'eux, not even SISDA, but I still think D'elles is going to achieve what D'eux achieved for Céline's career in the 90's - it will emphasize her origins, make a statement of a self-esteemed woman and will set a quality mark for her English recordings.

Yeah I forgot about her month off in Oct/Nov so I guess she will be able to do lots of promo around that time and of course the end of A New Day... and the attention it will receive it's actually a very very clever time to launch the album.

 

As great as Vegas has been for Celine it's going to great seeing her break free from there and see her promoting her material again. Can't wait.

I know her in person and yeah she is pretty but her attitude sucks , she thinks she is better then the rest of the world and you kinda get that idea of arrogance when reading the article,i dont know about her writing skills. She is a regular client of my company and she wont even talk to us , her assistant must be the one talking to us cause she wont do it. Maybe since I know her, anything about her makes me sick, I hope Celine declines the song is this is really true.

Her career was a flop , her CD was not all that good and she was popular with 12 y.o girls here in the US. thats maybe the reason why she is gonna work as the CEO of the company, Hopefully she is good doing that!

but i think she could record some big album... maybe even double... as you think tori amos released her cd with 23 songs Shania Twain with UP cd had 19 songs... it would be really nice... Shakira also recorded many songs... but released on two cds... Beyonce recorded about 11 on her album but on the deluxe edition they add many of them... i wish we had an album with more song than 14!

J., that's how business is run. I have assistants many times when I'm in involved in busy projects, and I actually don't talk to anyone either because I'm too busy focusing on what I'm doing and working to finish it successfully - so, I have someone communicating on my behalf. However, I'm not sure that when you mention "I know her in person," if you have actually encountered her face to face and then she gives you an attitude - now it happened that she was rude to you, then that supports your statement. However, if you have not met her face to face, yet you get the assistant saying... "... but Solange wants this..." "...but Solange said this..." "...but Solange MUST have..." - it's actually quite normal.

 

The only thing I can remember her from is the Disney Channel, when she sang the theme song for the cartoon show "Proud Family" with Destiny's Child. Yes, and Solange or however you spell her name has a horrible singing voice. She's in the same league as Britney Spears, Britney Spear's sister and Jessica Simpson's sister...

 

IMPORTANT:

Right now, everyone is trying to jump aboard the CELINE DION WAGON, knowing that she's prepping for the release of her next English album... they're all pitching songs to her. Pitching is just a proposal folks. You have to understand this. Pitching is a proposal demo track recorded by the songwriter or songwriter's affiliates, and is normally under a minute long. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT CELINE WILL ACCEPT IT NOR HAS SHE CONSIDERED. I'm sure Celine's management is receiving proposals from every direction right now; maybe even one hundred pitches a day. This is very common for a high caliber artist like Celine - that people want to be a part of her career and that they feel they will get free publicity for just mentioning THE NAME: CELINE DION. I see some of you like to make a list of different people who "MIGHT BE" on Celine's album. Bear in mind that the high caliber songwriters actually keep their pitches as secretive as possible, and wait until they are accepted before the press knows about it. And these folks that likes to use Celine's name in vain, and for their free publicity, will just get disappointed and embarassed when they are not accepted later on...
