Céline's Blues Posted May 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM Posted May 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM It's official. The 1 m extract we have heard is from the beginning of the song. We will get 2 additional minutes of techno Valentina tempo tempo tempo! The lyrics seems quite nice actually. I do find the choice of words on "apothéose" and "stratagèmes" pretty weird. LOL! VinnyT. Posted May 1, 2007 at 11:04 AM Posted May 1, 2007 at 11:04 AM Sì sì, siuretto. à cause...Oui maintenant, il faut s'aimer malgré Quote For Exclusive News "Like Us" on Facebook http://i44.tinypic.com/vfjwad.jpg click on the banner

Céline's Blues Posted May 1, 2007 at 03:01 PM Posted May 1, 2007 at 03:01 PM So far I think Dorin's lyrics are the best, even better than the extract of Je Cherche L'Ombre and Les Paradis. This woman is amazing and I am so glad she has offered thes two absolute STUNNING and STAGERRING vocal tunes (SNRQ and her gay anthem A Cause) to Céline! I am expecting AC to be a bloody hot across Europe in summer. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Céline's Blues Posted May 1, 2007 at 03:52 PM Posted May 1, 2007 at 03:52 PM (edited) We have to remember that she has chosen to title this album D'elles not without a reason. It's a little ode to D'eux an album that has been recorded 13 years ago in time when Céline didn't actually know yet how to conquer the French speaking market. D'eux has been recorded by a "French Quebecoise" that shared her life stories through the lyrics of Jean-Jacques Goldman who was ready to discover and study her cuzz he saw something special in her at that time (and still sees it btw and talks about it in almost every interview till today when asked about her). D'elles is a clear diva project, 13 years later to connect with the happenings that D'eux triggered, to explain their consequences in some way. And I find it a brilliant move especially lyrically since Céline herself feels now more feminine than ever in the respect of having fulfilled herself as a singing diva and mother. And Céline isn't surely a "typical Aerican diva" anyway despite the fact that some of her fans in France do see her that way. D'eux struck them and they might have been let down ever since she became so "americanized", even in her French music. And D'elles may be the album that only confirms it but NOT in a negative way - she has changed big time ever since 1995 and this transition might have been overhelming for some fans of the French variete. In my opinion Céline addresses this very issue on D'elles and the best thing is evidently she is NOT denying the change that took place. René 2 Posted May 1, 2007 at 04:30 PM Posted May 1, 2007 at 04:30 PM pertinent analysis, as always, siur. Well, this text is very good but not as brilliant as Immensité, may I say. Anyway, we'll have less than 20 days to wait now. It's the last and direct line to the so expected album. Quote

Immensité is far from being brilliant, it's just an enumeration of clichés. Obviously you don't know what's a cliché in french. or maybe I've never heard such beautiful clichés ("les grands loups blancs pris au piège", "les nuits fauves d'une reine de Sabbat", "j'ai vu le froid, j'ai vu la trans", "tout l'éclat de nos baisers, comme des étoiles sur ma peau". Maybe you can explain me what's a cliché ? Quote

French is my native tongue, so I know perfectly first what's a cliché and cultured enough to know what "kitsh" means too. Respect my tastes, I'll respect yours.
