Please tell me what do u think: i ve just heard Christinas new song Candy man, and i am very jealous to her , cause her voice is sooo excelent, she is taking ten second high note at the end of the song and i am very afraid that our Celine cant do this crystal powerfull note yet.

Please tell me what you think: who has better voice?

 

Maybe stupid question , but for me very important, cause i thought that Celine has the best voice in the world and now i see that super video of christina, that makes me mad and confused

They both have great voices but Celine's is more refined and has so many subtleties, tones and textures that you notice the more you listen to her, she's also more versatile - she can go from gentle and tender to soulful to roaring diva like in Declaration of Love, she's got so many layers. Although Christina can obviously inject emotion etc I just don't find it as characterful or enchanting, it's a good set o' pipes but that's about it. But then I'm sure Xtina fans would say otherwise, it's just a matter of taste.

Well I think both have different personality and way of singing. But I prefer Celine's voice cause she has a sharper voice than Christina.. Christina can definitely screams a lot!!

Okay, let me start by saying that I listen to both artists. And while both voices are powerful, Celine's is a bit more than that. Christina's songs have no substance to them...No...No texture. They are there, and then they are gone. Celine's songs, however, have quite a different effect. Her songs touch you, deep in your soul. They have the ability to knock even the person with the hardest of hearts to the floor. Christina, however, despite her great vocals, doesn't come close to that. Christina is still a great singer and I prefer her to Britney, but when someone tries to compare her to Celine...well it's exactly how Sopha put it. So instead, Christina should be compared to Britney not Celine

yes , you are right. But still i have that feelling that my dream is not only see Celine singing, but i wanna see Celine screaming, see Celine sings absolutely screamfull song, like /hurt/ .

we know Celine is the best, but this is only our feeling, cause when i ask my friends who have the best voice of the world, they still mentioned Christina, Whitney, Mariah and when i ask them :

But i do know Celine can shout well too.. that's the reason for all collaboration with other celebrities, Celine is the only one who does the high pitch sound. Love lights the world, voices that care, aren't they all our children, what more can i give?

screaming is not powerful-singing! yes it may be nice to hear it on one song maybe but i certainly do not want Celine to use the same method as Christina does. Every word she (being Christina) does turns it into a high note. It's going to wear her voice out. Celine only does power notes generally at the end of the song or midway. She sings naturally before hand and back afterwards. Christina can definetly sing well but she's not so much as power singer like Celine, Whitney or Mariah. She's kinda introduced a new genre of singing: shouting and screaming.

 

Christina can no doubt do it, i've heard her power sing in "I Turn To You" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKl9saM4jt0 @ the "ruUUN too - only YOOOOOOU) but after Lady Marmalade her style of singing has changed, most noticably on Beautful (always will SHINNNE) - compare Beautiful to I Turn To You and you will notice the difference.

 

At no point am i questioning Christina's singing, she can sing, but to me her style isn't right for the voice.

 

Anyways, answer to your question Celine has a more beautiful voice.

This is by far one of most ridiculous questions, SlovakClark! Céline's voice has depth, Xtina's while being very powerful and raw doesn't even compare to soul Céline emanates. Each voice is one of a kind at all events - no need to think Céline is best of them all cuzz she is NOT and never will be! She's got a unique talent that she can use in many many different ways - this is what separates her from the rest but doesn't mean she's the best. She may be the best for you or me but objectively speaking there will be always someone else asserting the opposite. Most important thing is whose voice touches you, Xtina's, Céline's, Mariah's or Valentina ( ) or whoever.

 

Xtina wouldn't be able to pull "L'abandon" off so well, while she's great, her voice doesn't do much to me.

Celine and Rene do that all the time (?). Good touching songs with powerful lyrics coupling with beautiful voice definitely makes the songs blow us off. Personally, I think Celine sounds the best in "Falling Into You" album. Yeah, her voice is the most powerful and "thickest" of all time on that extraordinary album.

I like Christina a lot too, but she doesn't have half the voice Celine does, get real! When she hits high notes is mostly screaming, not singing. And live she can't do much either. She's a very good studio singer, let me put it this way.... I'm not saying her voice is digitally modified, I'm just saying she needs to practice a lot to get it right, that's why she can't really sing well live. Christina is ok, better than a lot of singers out there, but she doesn't even come close to the vocal range and power of singers like Celine, Mariah, Whitney or Lara. Voice-wise she is in a category, I would say, with Alicia Keys, regarding vocal range and power (though I like Alicia's voice better).

i used to like her voice and i think she still sounds good in the recording studio ("hurt" for example) - but when she sings live u cant really hear 1 clear note .

i think she really ruined her voice with the way she is singing...u dont have to be an expert in order to know she is not using her voice right and for sure not in a healthy way...in 10 years she wont be able to hit a note right just like mariah

 

u cant really compare between the two...when celine was her age her voice was so powerful , clear and accurate .

When you see singers like Christina shouting, it really is off-putting- like Beyonce at the Oscars- it actually got on my nerves and I like her as a celeb- but Celine has always shown off her power properly like in a song's crescendo or bridge- that's what it is for and I want her to use it more.

i don't really know James Brown's version but Xtina's fans and a few other people have said she did this 'cos it's how he would have done it, but even so aside from this performance there have been plenty of instances where her singing isn't a good way.
