Céline's Blues Posted February 18, 2007 at 02:51 PM Posted February 18, 2007 at 02:51 PM seb we all knew that...but celine of 1996 is not the celine of 2007...today she is an icon , since then she sold more than 100 million records and made much more money so the situation is diffrent now . and u can be cynical as long as u want but u also know very well that her voice back then was much more powerful and accurate - that's the fact and it has nothing to do with lip synching .<{POST_SNAPBACK}>She still did a PRIVATE show and she still did LIP some songs! Just as she now does do private shows and song lipping. Nothing's changed except she's older and richer. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
Love, Posted February 18, 2007 at 02:56 PM Posted February 18, 2007 at 02:56 PM (edited) that's not the point . it's a matter of reputation and respect . i can not respect singers that just fly across the world to sing for money and only money .there is no fun here or a career move , the only reason for doing something like this is the money .i can understand young artists and people who dont have alot of money who would do something like this , but first class artists? i know that many icons r doing it but i just think that there is no diffrence between this and prostitution .i cant blame men/women who sell their body cause they need the money for food but when u have all the money in the world , why the hell do u need it? it's just being greedy and i hope celine will never do something like this <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think if you were this tycoon and being as devoted as you are, you would do the same thing! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes i would . i just expect celine to say NO <{POST_SNAPBACK}>*ring, ringThe Trucker's Rep: Hello? CSCfan Posted February 18, 2007 at 02:56 PM Posted February 18, 2007 at 02:56 PM Uhm, I think some people here underestimate/misjudge Céline.. I VERY much doubt she will be going like "OH! He's offering $1 million dollars!".. She'll first probably ask (herself): a) Do I want to do it? Am I able to do it? Like she needs the money....and like she would do it for the money....come on! Bullet Posted February 18, 2007 at 07:21 PM Posted February 18, 2007 at 07:21 PM Oh come on, The Voice!! Are you the Saint Morals of Celine's life? Please!! If she wants to do it, so be it! She doesn't need the money, and we know that. We also know how much René makes every year on gambling (and not losing!!)... So maybe she knows this man or some of the 80 couples who will join in the celebrations. Live and let live!! And maybe she will take some time to visit Australia... No need to judge her if she does accept. Who's singing anyway? You or Céline? You'd jump on this opportunity I bel!! Quote

Mozinha Posted February 19, 2007 at 12:55 AM Posted February 19, 2007 at 12:55 AM Thank you Bellamy. Really. And FOR PETE'S SAKE Celine is a PROFESSIONAL singer, this is HER JOB. She sings for money! What's so wrong if she wanted to go? She sings for money, doesn't she? Otherwise her Vegas Shows would be for free. LD1977 Posted February 19, 2007 at 09:19 AM Posted February 19, 2007 at 09:19 AM Not in March, but in April: Lindsay Fox (born April 19, 1937 in Sydney, Australia) is a successful businessman and one of Australia's richest people. He is best known for his trucking company, Linfox, and he is the son of a truck driver.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guys, she won't be going because it is in March: "...are also understood to be on the list for the mid-March celebration." But still, if she would do something like that, its her choice. And like someone said before, I bet she would donate the money to a good cause. But she does not have to do it for the money and I dont think she sees much fun in flying all the way to Australia and sing for an old trucking-man! celinefanonline Posted February 19, 2007 at 10:28 AM Posted February 19, 2007 at 10:28 AM but then if u think the other way, like they go to LV and then they have the whole Celine concert to them self... then it would work! Quote Courage don't you dare fail me now!
Dionesque Posted February 19, 2007 at 02:19 PM Posted February 19, 2007 at 02:19 PM Wish I would have the money, hehe! I would surely offer Céline to sing on my birthday party or on my wedding!... That would be so great and I see nothing bad in this!! OK, he's a tycoon BUT hey, if he wouldn't like Céline at all, he wouldn'f offered it to her but to someone else! So maybe he's a fan like we are, the only difference is that he's got a bit more money than we have... As it has already been told: singing is Céline's job so it's obvious she does it for money... And it's HER life, after all! So let her decide what she can/wants to do and what not, right?... Mozinha Posted February 19, 2007 at 04:04 PM Posted February 19, 2007 at 04:04 PM (edited) Just imagine: who have worked all your life and you made a lot of money in a company. Then someone out of the blue makes a offers for different business to your company in another country, a business that would be worth some money. You don't need this money but yet you accept it. Would you be called a prostitute then? Like it or not, Celine's singing it's her job, her singing is business and no one works for free. If she accepted it would be perfectly acceptable because it's her job, end of story. It's so easy to judge other people, isn't it? It would be really cool if one of us were this rich. I was thinking about this earlier today at work. I'd LOVE to be able to just "buy" Celine for a day and request certain songs to be sung. I'd love for her to sing "I Feel Too Much" live again. It may not have been many fans' favorite, but it's one of my all-time favorite Celine songs. Very awesome! ...Joe... Quote
stevethefan Posted February 20, 2007 at 05:40 PM Posted February 20, 2007 at 05:40 PM I don't think it's that bad if a performer wants to do these private performances. I think it goes on more than people know about with a lot of entertainers. It's sort of like when certain Hollywood celebrities that never do TV or print ads in North America sometimes will do them in other countries, like Japan. Personally if this recent Celine story is true I don't think she will do it just because of her schedule. She would have to fly a very long way, perform, then fly back in time for her LV shows. It seems like too much. Quote
CSCfan Posted March 25, 2007 at 10:57 AM Posted March 25, 2007 at 10:57 AM (edited) Clintons tip for Fox's 70th March 25, 2007 12:00am FORMER US president Bill Clinton and his presidential candidate wife, Hillary, have been invited to the 70th birthday bash of trucking tycoon Lindsay Fox. And apparently they have "accepted, with pleasure". It is understood the powerful couple (and their Secret Service entourage) will fly into Sydney on a private jet for a party day at the Opera House -- one of three "birthdays". Reports also have songstress Celine Dion and actor Hugh Jackson there. The Clintons are then expected to take a short break in Queensland before returning home to campaign in earnest. When Hillary wins presidency, you can expect Celine to perform at the Inaugural Ball. Edited March 26, 2007 at 04:59 AM by Love, Quote
