Jennifer Posted February 12, 2007 at 06:20 PM Posted February 12, 2007 at 06:20 PM I just wanted to post this for anyone who is looking for a good deal on a hotel in December. My recommendation is to book directly through the hotel when you find a good deal, that way if you find a better deal or a better place you can cancel at no charge. That being said, I just found a great deal at Imperial Palace. Just a heads up for those of you who don't know, it's not a great place... but the location across from Caeasars is wonderful. I just booked here for the following rates just in case so that I have a good rate locked in. If I find something better, I will just cancel. 12/13 - $4712/14 - $4712/15 - $47 I don't like the Imperial Palace, but $47/night is my kind of number. I will be watching hotel prices this year for rates, so if I find a great deal I'll post here... everyone else feel free to do the same. stevethefan Posted February 12, 2007 at 09:14 PM Posted February 12, 2007 at 09:14 PM Thanks for the info Jennifer. I've never actually walked into that place, but I know that it is very close to Caesars as you mentioned. That rate is excellent. Usually for that much money you won't be located on the strip. I may look into it myself. Quote
CSCfan Posted February 12, 2007 at 09:43 PM Posted February 12, 2007 at 09:43 PM It's actually quite okay.... BUT, Imperial Palace is scheduled to close sometime this year.. it may even be demolished this year. So the chances of the hotel still being open in December are really slim.... Jennifer Posted February 12, 2007 at 09:43 PM Author Posted February 12, 2007 at 09:43 PM Steve, The Imperial Palace is not great by any means, but for that price AND that location, it's great. I just went ahead and booked it while it's cheap... it's no problem to cancel if I find somethng else. We have a year to find good deals, so if I find something better or a promo code, I'll change my reservation. Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/JenniferCeline/nextplaneout3_small.jpg

It's your average hotel, obviously not Caesars or the Bellagio, but it's average. For the price, it's well worth it. It's a very quick walk to CP. I am staying there in March again, only this time I hope that I get a different view from my room than the one I had in November, lol...http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f380/SarahJB5/PICT1099smaller.jpg Quote I'm a twin mommy just like Celine!Sophia and Anthony arrived on December 28, 2010 http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f380/SarahJB5/asblockssmaller.jpg
stevethefan Posted February 12, 2007 at 11:42 PM Posted February 12, 2007 at 11:42 PM There is another older hotel, the Tropicana, that was supposed to be demolished very soon but I think they extended that date for a year or two. I don't know if they are just going to put up a new one with the same name or if it will be a new hotel. It's probably the same thing with the Imperial Palace. At least if you booked it for December through the hotel you can cancel without losing money. I don't think I'd prepay the full amount through Orbitz or Travelocity. Most likely the place will be there at the end of the year. Quote
Clari Posted February 13, 2007 at 05:34 AM Posted February 13, 2007 at 05:34 AM Thanks for the rate info Jennifer! $47 is REALLY good for the location of the hotel!!! stevethefan Posted February 13, 2007 at 10:41 PM Posted February 13, 2007 at 10:41 PM I was on the Imperial Palace website and there is a kind of famous show they have there called "Legends" where they have all of these imitations of famous entertainers. If you watch the short video clip they show a Celine imitator singing! It's only for a few seconds but it's fun to see. Here's the link: http://www.imperialpalace.com/entertainment.php?subid=21 Quote

I think nearly all performers were great impersonators, but I didn't like the Celine impersonator. I'm sure it was just because I'm biased and I know the subtleties of Celine's voice better than I do the other singers. Pretty cool show, though. After I posted that information I noticed a list of who they currently have in that show and it looks like, at least currently, they don't have the Celine impersonator anymore. Maybe they alternate the different acts. Quote
Clari Posted February 14, 2007 at 12:40 AM Posted February 14, 2007 at 12:40 AM (edited) I saw the show in March of 05, someone gave me a pair of tickets so I went. The show was okay, the day that I went to that show almost all the acts were of singers I don't like... I think the impersonators were better than the originals in some cases. The Elvis finale was funny because a whole bunch of old women were swooning over him! They even gave him a towel for him to clean off his sweat and the woman grabbed it and put it against her face, eww! I don't like the way we were seated, in tables, I felt like I was blocking the view for other people the WHOLE time since we were seated at the front end of the table. Cheerfuljane Posted March 17, 2007 at 12:52 PM Posted March 17, 2007 at 12:52 PM Thanks for the info guys. I stayed at IP for 6 days in January during the DVD taping. The hotel is not that great, but for such a good rate it is situated in the perfect place. Just across the road from CP. The room was very spacious, but I think I had the same room as Sarah - not the best view. When you make a reservation - request a room in the Palace Tower (Is that right Matthias?) which has views of the coloseum.$47 is an excellent rate.I`m gonna book there again, but might change to CP if I save up enough by December Quote
Teodora Posted March 17, 2007 at 04:56 PM Posted March 17, 2007 at 04:56 PM M friend and I are thinking of booking a Go room at Flamingo. If there's anything totally wrong with this hotel, let me know will you... How do you get these "good deals"? Can one write to them and get a different offer from what's listed on the website when you try to reserve the room? Or are you talking about getting deals through a travel agency? Thanks for the answers! Quote
SuperLove4Celine Posted March 17, 2007 at 07:21 PM Posted March 17, 2007 at 07:21 PM I'm stayin at Treasure Island. It's about $75/$80 a night and a quick walk to The Colosseum. The customer service I've gotten there has ALWAYS been great! I recommend it! As for what someone said about Tropicana being demolished, it is going to be, but only so that they can rebuild it bigger and better than it is right now. From the picture I saw in a magazine on a Southwest flight it looks pretty cool! (Wishes I had kept that dang magazine now.) ...Joe... Quote
