Celine's songs that even non-Celine fans like

I think that Sayyed mentioned somewhere that Seduces Me is a song that his non-Celine fan friends like. It's interesting because my best friend, also not a fan of Celine simply adores that song too!

So I would like to know if you have any friends, relatives, acquaintances who don't like Celine's music only certain songs of her. And which songs are they.

For example, my father is a typical person who believes that there's no good music since the end of the seventies... So he's a fan of progressive music, music of the 60s, but mostly 70s. But he adores Celine's French songs, esp. Le ballet, Terre, etc. Actually all of her albums written by JJG.. (I've noticed he borrowed some of my French Celine cds when I wasn't at home... ).

And concerning her English songs, he confessed that he likes Ten Days, but his especial favourite is Love Doesn't Ask Why (!) for which he said that is the most beautiful song he has heard lately (it was a few years ago now...). Imagine that! A hardcore Led Zeppelin fan saying that!

So do you have any such experience?

I hope this topic doesn't sound stupid... But I think it's interesting to know!

My father, for example, is more into classical music. He doesn't really like pop-music, but he loves to listen to "You and I" and "One heart".He even bought the single of One heart.

My brother usually listens to Slipknot, Green day, Eminem and all kind of Hip Hop, but he loves "It's all coming back to me now". it's really weird!!

My mother doesn't listen to pop-music at all. But she loves "To love you more", "the power of love" and especially "Think twice".

Yeah I mentioned that in the 'musically BEST songs thread'.

 

It's really wierd - one of my closest friend - NOT musicwise - LOVES Seduces Meso much! And hes a hardcore-fan of Rammstein and Metallica and this stuff... he eveb has SM as his mobile-ringtone°

 

My mother is into 80's german music like Nena and stuff - but she adores TLYM (Tony Moran pop mix)... also Je Lui Dirai is one of her favourites.

 

My ex-boyfrind is listening to Sorry for Love from ANDHC all the day - he has it on repeat... he's a Shania-fan BTW

 

And most of my friends like R'nB and HipHop so they cannot understand my Celine-love. But few of them love ANDHC, HYEBIL (it would have been a hit in Germany for sure! ), Immortality and IA....

That's The Way It Is appeals to a lot of non-Celine fans that I know, more than any other song.

My husband doesn't neccesarily hate Celine music, he just doesn't go out of his way to listen to it. But one song he does look for if listening to Celine is Love Doesn't Ask Why.

He says the lyrics are awesome and Celine does a great job.

My friend doesn't like Celine Dion but she really likes Then You Look At Me. Her sister came over and I made her watch the All The Way DVD and she totally loves that song too.

 

My other friend like BYLM and TPOL. she doesn't like her and doesn't understand why I do but she really loves those songs.

 

My parents aren't big Celine fans either but they really like TPOL. Its their "song." Also my mom loves Send Me a Lover.

 

My teacher likes Beauty and the Beast and all my cousins love MHWGO.

 

So I guess Celines music is universal and can touch anyones heart in some way.

That's funny with me because I make people listen to Céline even if they don't want to. I work in a school and there's a radio in the teachers' room, and every day I take a different CD to listen... One day I got 2 of my friends singing "Because you loved me" in the middle of the corridor, and another one getting the lyrics of "The color of my love" ... and it was really nice for me to see that!

 

Once my friend said: "You may not like Céline, but when she sings you must shut up and listen to her!" And i guess that's pretty much about it!

I can't say my friends don't like Celine because they don't even know her well, which is a pity, cause I can't talk about her with them...

 

I have just a few friends who like "Because you loved me", "Immortality" and "My heart will go on"...French songs?? NONE (simply because most of them don't even dream she also sings in French). And that's bad, really bad, cause they are my favorites!

However, I prefer to face this in a different way. I used to feel down since people around me didn't know or like Celine. Now I realize that it can also be really fun and special to have this private passion...

 

But anyway, regarding to general people, I believe that "That's the way it is", "The reason", "A new day has come", "I'm alive", "All by myself" stand for a part of Celine's material that pleases the biggest number of tastes.
