La chanteuse québécoise Céline Dion est devenue une diva de la pop mondiale. Malgré son énorme succès, elle est encore boudée par une partie de la critique musicale québécoise. D'où vient ce décalage entre le succès populaire d'une artiste de l'envergure de Céline Dion et le succès d'estime fabriqué par les critiques? À force de la voir comme faisant partie de la famille, les Québécois auraient-ils oublié que Céline Dion est une immense star internationale?

Yep, and not only that... they say that she's very well-known but that many québécois don't like her... they compare her to mcdonald's : many people eat there but it doesn't mean they have good taste. And a woman says "why aren't we able to hate her? Just because she's a québécoise??"

By the way, not "they" compare her to McDonald's. It's only the big guy who does! One comment that's very interesting : "Is Celine so close to the Quebec people that they might have forgotten who big of star she is?". I guess it's pretty normal that once you become so popular, the more people might love you or hate you... And well, WE love her!!!

The whole interview is not 60 min long, children. It's the whole segment aka snippets of other interviews, performances of her career, opinions of actors, critics, journalists etc. It's not 100% Céline - it's rather a reportage NOT an interview per se.

 

But still I expect it to be highly interesting.

And it's very simple why she have accept.. She just want to change her image i think, and Rene would have some great explanations to respond to all of this.

For me, i think it will be one of her more interesting interview of her carrer!

Radio-Canada is scheduled to broadcast a documentary on 'Enjeux' this week. The documentary analyzes the 'Celine Dion phenomena.' It also attempts to understand why an international star like Celine faces criticism from music critics in her own province and how difficult it is to constantly be in the public eye. Please visit the Enjeux website (in French only) for additional details. Radio-Canada plans to broadcast this show on Wednesday, November 29 at 9:00 p.m. (ET). Maybe some of you don't remember but it's on this show that she announce first that she was stopping on December 31st and it's in this show that Rene cry for his cancer.. The only time that he cry in a show i think..
