It looks real to me.
See the picture? It's the same as on the VHS, but with the extra few centimeters of the photo it needs to fully cover the DVD case, which is impossible tojust tak down from the VHS cover and reprint and it isn't stretched, it is normal. I have never sen this picture in high quality, printble for a DVD, so I wouldn't be too hasty asuming it's not real. Can we ask those people to send us pictures of the backcover and the DVD itef? I think e will be able to tell if it's fake right away.

Translated: It's a bootleg/fake. If this item was "legit" more members of CDF would have come forward by now stating they have it or had bought it before.

I've bought the Live in Memphis DVD from that store

Before I ordered it I emailed them, asking about the DVD, and apparantly it has a menu with chapter selection, so I can't wait to see what it's like! I'll post plenty of pics and screenshots so you can see whether it's worth buying or not. Based on what I've seen/heard so far, this is the closest we'll get to an official release - who knows what century that will be? :giggle:

My Live in Memphis DVD has arrived

Positive: Nice disc artwork, good overall picture quality, full menu with scene selection

Negative: During PQTME sound and picture quality deteriorates for about 5-10 seconds, front and back DVD covers are scans of the VHS as text is quite blurry.

So it's good and bad at the same time, but it is nice to have the DVD version to rip and put on my iPod etc. :thumbsup2: I would never pay $20 (+$6 shiping) again for it though!

Well...at least it's something. The menu looks quite good! But I'm going to stick by my own burned dvd.

Her voice was brilliant but i dont like the atmosphere. Good luck for all the fans of this concert. I hope it will be released.

This concert represents the Celine Dion that will be remembered. She is in top form - and I hope that they will release this concert on DVD! Just to think of all the crap that has been released on DVD and this still hasn't been!!

I think when you are live in the audience this tour was amazing (97 Tour) But the Memphis video is so..... :glare: dont know. I love PQTME Live in Bruxelles, it was the same tour. And i dont like it from the memphis concert

yeah I agree... LIM isn't the best one ever... the audience is sooooo dull!! :sleep:

but it's better than nothing!!! They shoulda had released a concert from the first FIY tour part with FIY and the full IACBTMN!... I think the problem with her recorded shows is that they are mostly from around the end... then the real fireworks and passion has already worn out :down:

I have the Live a Paris dvd and the Live in Memphis vhs.

The first one was one I set my hopes on. Until I played it... it was like something was damping the music.

I cannot describe it, but the best way to say it - you can hear the music is compressed!

It sounds like there has been a lot of noisereducition on it.

So I looked in the pc what audio was used.. my mediaplayer gave - 192kbps mp3!

I don't know why they compressed the music and did not give the original soundtrack!

which is great on the live a paris cd! Why is this is so much different in sound?

About the dvd you bought. This is definately someone who recorded the video on dvd using either a kind of recorder

or he recorded it on his dvdrecorder. The cover is ok, but on the spine you can see that he or she used a font you would not expect on that place.

it just does not fit in the whole design.

The menu itself looks very cheesy to me. He used a template I think, nothing spectacular.

The images you took of the concert itself, don't look high quality to me.

When the vhs is not the best, with noise in it, and you record it to dvd, the movie would not improve.

Only when the original filmrecordings are used and remastered to dvd better quality is possible.

But I doubt they will ever release this concert on dvd.

^^ I have quietly been following the thread since Tim announced he was purchasing LIM. However, everyone is talking/comparing the concert to other performances in the Falling into You Tour. How do you guys know how those concerts went? Did you attend them OR are there bootlegs around? It's just that FIY is one of my all time favorite albums, but unfortunely I did not become a fan of Celine's until 2000. I would greatly appreciate any help. =)

I don't want to be a cheater in any ways; however, I downloaded a P2P file of the whole concert via a japanese website and the concert is high quality. The picture is really good. I have only some bumps in the sound in some songs but it's not a big deal.

Well i like the Memphis show. I have the vcd and the quaity is great. Only downer is there's no menu so you can't skip songs you have to fastforward thru - watch speedy Celine!!! :whee:

So i'd only buy it on dvd if there were extras. Otherwise there's no point for me. And i still have my video copy. :-D
