Koolan Posted January 4, 2007 at 08:59 PM Posted January 4, 2007 at 08:59 PM CD.com said that it will be taped in HD, but that doesn't mean it will be released in Blu-Ray does it?...aren't they two different things?...where do u get that it will be released in Blu-Ray?><{POST_SNAPBACK}>Most likely it'll be on BD as well, one of the camermen considered Blu-ray. The Tony Bennett special that aired recently on TV was released on DVD shortly after, the BD (from Sony) will be out this month. I honestly don't see why a spectacular show as AND wouldn't get the BD treatment. Quote Please support the forum by ordering through our Amazon.com referral link below. Love, Posted January 4, 2007 at 09:18 PM Posted January 4, 2007 at 09:18 PM I think it would be nice to release this special on Blu-Ray, but how many people do we know that owns a Blu-Ray DVD player? How many people around us would spend at least $900 on a player that's just been released? This is a fresh thing. I mean, DVD HD has been around longer, but unfortunately, most people that I know have don't even have one. DVD HD is one notch higher than DVD-9 (which is the double-layer DVDs that are a standard for the pressing of most movies today). However, it is one notch below Blu-Ray. People are already so impressed by the quality of standard DVDs, then there's HD, which is more and more amazing... and now Blu-Ray WOW! I WONDER WHAT'S NEXT? I DON'T EVEN WANT TO THINK! So, anyway,The smartest thing for the film crew to do is to capture it in the highest quality possible so they can release one for the mainstream consumers on standard DVD-9, and a special edition on Blu-Ray. mirage Posted January 4, 2007 at 09:21 PM Posted January 4, 2007 at 09:21 PM I still wonder why they recorded a dvd in 2003... it was not that big announced and prepared as now isnt it!?Maybe they will release a cd with it to whahaha "which will include some very unique and entertaining behind-the-scenes bonus footage..." I SO hope that this not means that we will see fans leaving for vegas and their comments etc etc ( because they are looking for fans who want to be interviewd etc ) I rather have a good making off, or a day in the life of, or i dunno what, but no interviews with fans... that's a waist of material and space on their disc Quote

Ronny83 Posted January 4, 2007 at 10:35 PM Posted January 4, 2007 at 10:35 PM Celine Dion's Las Vegas show to close in December ASSOCIATED PRESS LAS VEGAS (AP) - Celine Dion's multimedia production "A New Day" will close Dec. 15, after a nearly four-year run at the Caesars Palace hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip, producers announced Wednesday. "As we prepare ourselves to say goodbye, I know this will be the best year yet," Dion said in a statement outlining production changes for the show's final year. The Grammy award-winning singer began a three-year, $100 million contract at Caesars in March 2003, then extended it through 2007. A closing date had not been previously announced. Producers say nearly 2.5 million people have seen the show since it opened in The Colosseum, a $95 million theater built and designed for the production. The final year of the show will include new costumes and new numbers. In late January, "A New Day" will be filmed for a TV special and DVD, producers said. The final block of tickets for performances from August through December will go on sale on March 1. Caesars has not yet announced Dion's replacement. -- On the Net: Celine Dion http://www.celinedion.com . Quote The Celine Dion Italian fanbase - CelineDionItalia.com
