I highly doubt they'll ask her to sing differently (live) for the 5 nights. Most people won't notice. It's just an absurd request. Just accept the fact not every song will be live, learn to live with that.

Now that's the deal!

I forgot all about the multi-angle.. that would be great.

You could have one for the show itself, one for only Celine, etc. etc.

 

Oh perhaps you should mention that they could release 2 versions. One with only the show and perhaps some extra's and one with everything on it (2-4 discs).

Also, in time they could release clips (before the actual DVD release) on TeamCéline. And oh: perhaps a business thing: they should really release it around mid-2007. That way, the DVD could be sold in The Boutique and I know most people attending the show each night, would definately buy it..

 

As for the DVD itself.. Perhaps a "Plans for the Future" feature (at the very end). Fan/Audience interviews after the show would be nice too. A (360) tour of the Colosseum. A feature about famous celebrities who have seen the show (interviews, etc.). A tour of the Celine Boutique. Animated (w/sound) menus. A f feature about memorable moments/special events during the show's run, such as the Mother's Day/Tsunami Benefit show [2005], H.E.A.R.T. [2006], the 500th show [2006], unveiling of her wax statue [2006], etc.

 

Last, but not least, just have Fan Input!

Oh and I don't think we should call it a "petition", that might sound wrong. A "wishlist/requestlist" is more suitable IMO.

 

Btw, I just read 3 employees of WB just finished designing a disc (and requested a patent/license) that is able to have all 3 standards on it (DVD/Blu-Ray/HD-DVD), 'coz they have 3 layers.

no . what's rude , absurd and stupid is conentrating on all of those things that have nothing to do with music or her voice .

and BTW i already wrote to sony and to some other sources , i also connected few people from various magazines(not tabloids) to let them know that 40% or so from the show is in playback so they might use their influence in the matter .

in today's world more and more artists raise their voice against the use of playback and i think celine should know that what she is doing is very wrong .

i know it's impossible to sing live 5 nights a week , that's why this all vegas deal was a mistake right from the start . i dont care about the dancers and the special effects . there r many artists out there that can dance much better than celine , that look much better than her . her special effect is her voice!!!

I somehow agree with TheVoice that singing live is always better, but honestly, nowadays where Celine's voice on one day sounds utterly bad (Gala Artis) and on other days it sounds amazing (Summertime), I think it's better they use the pre-recored tracks from 1994 (or I don't know when they are from), so at least we have a decent vocal performance.

Yes, but a petition is something people sign when they don't agree with something. And at the moment, there's nothing to disagree with because nothing has been released about extra's, etc. It's a list with our wishes.

Plus..if they hear about a "petition" they might ignore it all together.

I thought about a "petition" signed by many fans, of course it can be called as "Wish List". I think with many fans sign it is more convinceable than submit as a fan forum.

Yes, I would agree with that. A *wishlist* with individually signed names would really be a big hassle and it would require a lot of time. Time which we don't have.. It would be better to have it coming from one particular group. (Perhaps make a list of Celine sites (with its amount of members) that support this?)

I don't agree with this "petition" idea. I think by submitting a "petition" or anything like it, it is going to hurt Celine or even piss her off. And I can't blame her if it does! She is the artist and we are the fans. Yes her fans are very demanding and she knows that; however, as she has said in interviews before she was hurt by the fans reaction to her short blonde hair...so she changed it. And she has brought it up several times interviews so you can see that she is still hurt by the fans reaction. This is only an example, but I guess the point I am trying to make is to be very careful on how you approach this "petition" because if the fans hurt or even piss off Celine she may never give us anything again. I love her and want her to keep giving us albums, DVDs, concerts, etc. so we need to support her and not demand or "petition" from her. Just my opinion!

I wish you guys wouldn't talk so much about playback. Unless someone actually has the gospel word from the singer's mouth that she indeed does this. Cause... it is, disillusioning to say the least.

 

I would rather live in a fantasy that my most favorite singer sings live. To me, harping on playback diminishes Celine to the world. It is saying she does not have confidence in her voice so she needs to rely on recorded perfection.

 

Having sat in the front rows many times, no one can be that good a lipping songs. It is impossible to detect it. So I tend to think it is not happening. That is not to say it may occur at times when she is doing very physical things and her back to the audience. This would be acceptable and practical. But c'mon 40% of the show? Where did you get that figure from?? No way!

 

but first, give me an accurate quote from Celine or Rene and I will reluctantly believe it.

Celine nor anyone on her team will ever confirm that she lips, so don't hold your breath waiting to hear the 'gospel word' from her mouth or Rene's.

 

Yes, lipping is ideal, but I'm fine with it for the reasons she does it. She isnt a studio singer....we all know she has the vocal ability. But to sing demanding songs live 5 times a week for 4 years will take its toll. And I'd rather she lip part of the show then destroy her voice.

 

When you get the DVD, you'll be able to compare it to ANDLILV and see which songs are identical and which she sings live where you can hear different breathing patterns...adlibbing, etc.
