Well how many songs were performed that night? Plus it was all lip-synced and the gig was quite short.. Also, Celine's show in not comparable to a "normal" gig.. I guess it will take them at least 3-4 months for post-production, etc.

What's the difference between April (3 months) and the end of March? I think they already know when they want it to be released, otherwise they wouldn't have chosen that specific date since now.

 

BTW, it depends on them. To finalize a DVD is mostly like to finalize a TV show. The CBS Special for AND was finalized very quickly (something like 1 week, if I'm not wrong). And look at Clay Aiken's Xmas DVD: it was released after few weeks from the shoot.

i think that we should make a wish list and send it over to feeling, rene etc etc etc...

we dont hurt them with it, and u never know what they think about it... and what they do with it...

just like ONCP, with many bonus, and special editions... all editions had the same bonus, and all the bonus they already released it on other dvds etc etc...

 

I want a package... with a 100 page booklet, with pics that didnt make it to the showbooks, i want 3 dvds, 1 blonde, with showopening, the horrible hair, 1 brown, with red dress fever etc, i want the white outfits dvd with new songs....

a special cd with a day in the life of celine for 120 minutes long , see her waking up and go to bed, almost EVERYTHING...

a cd u put in the computer and u get acces to a secret celine dion site, with messages from her, personal photos, unreleased songs... (okee that just dreaming but i would love to have it one day whahah)

The end of March will mean 2 months (the DVD will be shot mid/late-Jan).. that's definately not enough time. I think they're aiming for a Fall release..

It also depends on the production company. It depends on the number of people working on it, if there will be a deadline, what they want to include, if they want to add "special effects" (like b&w or split screens etc.), what kind of extra's, etc. etc. It depends on various of factors. Though only one thing matters to Sony: money.

In other words; they'll release it when they think it's the most profitable.

 

Anyway, with any luck, we'll get to hear a tentative release date in January..

Though late March is definately possible if they REALLY want to push it (but also include less stuff, coz there's less time).. For all we know everything is already finished, except for the recording & production of the new show..

 

It has definately a good chance to be released in March if they will also be releasing "Enchanting" in North America AND a new English [Jazz] album at the same time..

That would be rude especially considering usual ppl have no idea she uses backing track sometimes. You don't seriously believe, gogo, they will come up to Céline and say: "Listen we got here a letter from a bunch of zealots and they want you to sing live on one night. Will ya please sing live?" Céline's official version is that she is singing live and there is NOTHING you or anyone here can do.

people r paying alooooooooooooooooot of money to see her perform LIVE...the very least she can do is perform live for this 1 time event . it wont make up for the fact that she is singing playback 5 nights a week but still it's better than nothing .

it's rude to sing in playback , not to complain about it .

Gogo, and since when do you care about ppl? You know shw will sing the way she usually does on these nights. They will just need the different days to include different angles-views onto the DVD/blu-Ray.

Well, I've been thinking about it already. The release of the supposed blu-ray disk would arrive at a time of the arrival of the Playstation 3 in Europe (spring 2007). And the market in the US would be already warmed up by then.

 

But I then again don't expect Céline's team to pioneer. I mean it's the MOST PERFECT OPPORTUNITY ever. She'd be the first artist ever to release a music BD. IT's not a DVD anymore, it's BD now. haha

Dam U2! Wait, Bellamy, I'm just watching amazong for it and it says that "Rattle and Hum" is just a VHS and will be re-mastered into BD and it won't be a new concert released exclusively on BD. It will be available on HD as well! Céline would be the only exclusively SHOT for BD and not remastered!

 

Bellamy, do we know who's responsible for shooting the DVD? I mean the best way would it be to get through Reney cuzz it's him who's deciding everything. And if he just said a word they would shoot it in BD.

BD is the new industry standard that will indeed require you to buy a new BD-player which however will be able to play all of your DVDs and VCDs. IT's a new format and believe me, you would DIE if you'd see Céline shot in BD. You'd see her every little wrinkle, literall every detail of her eye iris.

 

This would be a magnificent promotion for the Blu-ray technology. Yet I doubt this will happen... Gosh it'd be amazing!

BD release should be even much better, cause most HDTV channels don't use best cam, and bitrate is lower than BD release too.
