You know, when I read that 44 were going I thought "what a shame, we're no where near the 250 we were hoping for" but then I thought 44 mad Celine Dion Fans!!!! This is going to be awesome!!!

 

I really can't wait guys!!! 15 hours of travelling to get there, but it'll be worth it! Every time I think about this, I get butterflies!

The thing about the number is that we are still several months away from the actual show. People are probably still feeling out the whole idea, saving money, convincing bosses of vacation time/ deciding if they want to quit to attend (j/k) and plus I haven't gotten a team together to message people on TeamCeline about the idea.

 

If someone wants to start going though the TC profiles that would be cool becuase you'd get more peolpe for sure.

 

We are at 45 fans now. So we're growing. :-) Just gotta' keep thinkin' positively. We'll get 250......... plus not everyone posts on boards like here or visits them. 45 is GRRRREAT! And I am getting so excited!!!!!

 

Mathias has the brilliant idea of posting about it in Fan News, and any place we can get get the word seen will help us better to reach our goal. Go 'head and get creative.

I spoke with my contact at Caesars and she advised that a restaraunt is going to be the best place for us to gather considering ambiance and such. It works mostly for a group of 100 or more. The best places if we get 100 or more are at Planet Hollywood in Caesars which has a huge upstairs..... or at Margaritavile over accross the street at the Flamingo. We're looking at better costs there and also it's just a better atmosphere.

 

AND another option that would be great for up to 60 of us is the Cafe Lago option. They have a little back room specially for groups but we'd have to book that pretty soon.

 

SO let me know what you guys wanna' do.

I think we ought to keep it in Caesars, so that we won't be all sweaty and disoriented after walking and walking and walking to Caesars from the Flamingo or another hotel.

Actually, the Flamingo is a very decent hotel and has spacious hotel rooms if you're looking for some place that is affordable for most. The outside isn't the most gorgeous but the pool is also awesome there. Good hotel.

 

As for staying at Caesars it is what I'd prefer as well considering that it has more, then, to do with Celine than just picking any other hotel.

Anu(nano) and I miiight be going if everything works out. All we really need right now is a way to get from the LAX airport to Vegas as cheap as possible(and of course from Vegas back to LAX). It's A LOT cheaper to fly to L.A. than to Vegas for some weird reason.

well well well, I had to move some rocks here to be able to go, but I can say I am going!!! I understrand that I am person number 52 . This is really one of my wildest dreams! Here is the thing... I think that we should go ahead and start getting ready to book the space at Cafe Lago. I can't see us jumping from 55 to 250... and if we do, we'll just have to create another "after show" gathering some other place.

Yes, 55 is a lot of people, already.

That's a healthy number. I think if it's 100 or more, it will be pretty hard to find a place on Las Vegas Blvd. to accommodate, especially during dinner time.

 

The Lago looks beautiful, inside and out. The buffet will be $21.99+tax (and tip) per person.

 

There is 80 days left for this prime concert (the 20th).

 

Marisa, when you make the call to Lago, don't forget to ask them regarding the piano. I would like to do a treat for the fellow fans.

Just got off the phone regarding Café Lago. Here is what we are all looking at:

 

 

 

The date would be:

 

January 20th, 2007.

 

 

 

The space would be:

 

A private room at the Café Lago in Caesars Palace, which overlooks the pool.

 

 

 

The time dinner begins would be:

 

5 o’clock PM.

(we would probably need to meet at about 4:45 to make sure we were very efficient with our time while there).

 

 

 

The time dinner ends would be:

 

7 o’clock PM.

(Perfect timing to use the rest room, powder noses and walk over to the Colosseum to get in our seats early).

 

 

 

The seating capacity is:

 

60-80.

(Depending on which chairs they use and how many guests we have, we have options).

 

 

 

The cost of set up is:

 

$250 in total or $4.55 per person.

This fee is taken when you book the space via phone. We need it before we can book.

 

 

 

The cost of food is:

 

Set to an $1800 minimum.

Divided among 55 of us that is 32.72 per person on food and beverages.

 

 

 

The dinner would be:

 

Either sit-down or buffet.

To meet the $1800 minimum, a sit-down dinner would be best as it would help us to arrive at the minimum easier than $21.99 for a buffet and then figuring out what else to do with $11 more.

 

 

 

The tip would be:

 

About $6.55 per person.

 

 

 

The cost, all together (minus other taxes) is:

 

About $43.83 per person.

 

 

 

Estimate a total cost of:

 

About $50.00 per person.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All of this information is based on having 55 people in attendance.

 

At this point we’ll need to start confirming how many people you are bringing with you and how many of you will be actually coming to the pre-show get-together dinner as well as arranging ways to get together the $250 to book for all of us.
