International superstar Celine Dion is to perform in South Africa for the first time in early 2008.

 

The organisers of the annual Unite of the Stars charity drive say Dion will be the honorary headline artist during the event's gala banquet in Johannesburg in February or March of that year. They say they have postponed the annual November event for three months to accommodate her international touring schedule.

 

A host of international performers are currently touring South Africa as part of this year's event. They will perform in Johannesburg tonight and in Durban tomorrow night.

Wonderful news! I just read in MArianne McKay's written biography that Céline's FIY tour was like 110 dates worldwide so this time around IF she does 100 again in two years it will be more than ok I guess since she will take her time.

 

BTW she played 7 full concerts in New Zealand back then in 1996!

 

But why the hell are they saying EARLY 2008!? I guess it must be January at the earliest.

Well... I think now it«s confirmed!!!

 

Celine will be on tour in 2008 and if the tour includes South Africa it means it will be a major tour.

i promised u celine will do another HUGE world tour and it might be even sooner that i thought!

but i have to admit , i think they lost their mind if it's really gonna be that big - great for us but i thought they wanted stability for rene charles not to mention a second child that we thought celine couldnt wait to have .

 

what a great promotion for the new english album - she'll be no 1 in the u.k again and everywhere else...i just cant believe that celine still wants to perform after those 4 years in vegas , i mean few performances here and there maybe but something that big?!?! i guess she loves it and addicted to it even more that we thought .

 

p.s. - now i really hope for a superb english album cause we shoould not take for granted this world tour . celine's popularity is in dramatic decline in recent years and she didnt perform outside of vegas for so many years now...i realy hope they'll have sold out concerts and not too many empty seats. a huge hit on the radio stations would help...

I thought she wanted to go to florida having the second child etc etc, take a rest..

 

But it seems to me that she just want to tour soooo much, that she will do the tour before she can take her deseverd break, then its out of her mind, her blood etc etc and can really relax ...

But i also thought she wanted that second soooo much.... now she puts that on the second place... is that because she knows she's getting older, and cant enjoy her break when touring is on her mind...

 

or has rene another big plan in his mind?

It sounds like a pretty ambitious tour if it's true. I would think she would want to do a world tour eventually but I would think she would want more of a break after Vegas. I think it's a good idea to go to a city, or country and do multiple dates. It's great for the fans and probably better for her since she would not have to rush to each city. I still thought she wanted to have her next child in 2008, but who knows. I'm not sure if I believe this yet.

mmm a farewell tour... who knows, but i think that after the tour it will be a looooonng break....maybe a cd after 5 years or so...

 

but that's what i think, she does the big tour, promo, cd's, interviews etc etc and then have her break so she has nothing on her mind...

and her second child, i think she knows that she getting old to have another child... and what about rene u imagine celine as a single mother...? will she do music then?
