It's just that I've been very disappointed with rumours before so I refuse to believe it.

wow wow wow...this is great news! I hope it's true with this staying at one city for several nights...ahhhhhhh, I can't decide whether to jump up and down or still be sceptical ...cross the fingers for Germany (Berlin O2 arena or Munich)

What I do hope for her new tour in 2008 is actually for the first that she won't use the word "LOVE" in the title and for the second that she won't use any gimmicks, no dancers, just stand there and sing, really. It will be amazing to see if she keeps her promise about a stripped down tour after Vegas. We already know she won't have much time to rehearse the tour so I'm inclined to believe this will be really something stripped down without any distraction and behemoth structures a la "Let's Talk About Money World Tour". It was all needless. Her voice got lost in stadiums. But now I see she's going for reasonable sized halls where she can do what she can the best - sing.

When I was in Vegas this past week, a fan from Brazil told me that he talked to Michel and he told the fan that Celine would be going to Brazil in 2008, so if Michel is talking about it, I am sure it's in the works and giong to happen...

I would DIE if I got to see a live version of "Right In Front Of You," "The Greatest Reward," "Faith," "In His Touch," "I Know What Love Is," "Reveal," "Naked," "You And I," "Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way," "Retiens-Moi," "Apprends-Moi," "La vol d'un ange," etc. FINALLY! YAY!

Superstar Celine Dion wraps up her long successful run at Caesars Palace at the end of next year, but she's certainly not retiring. In fact, I'm reliably told, she's even put those plans on hold for another child so she can embark on the pop-music industry's largest ever mega-tour. Masterminded by Celine herself and manager husband Rene Angelli, the couple have given the giant AEG company approval to start seriously planning a mammoth world tour of maybe up to 100 major cities over as long as a 2-year-run. It may get trimmed to 50 cities over 12-months but depending on Celine's voice and stamina they'd double it with the bonus year! Originally, Celina had told us that when she wraps the Caesars Palace gig next New Years Eve she wanted to "rest, take it easy and plan on a second child so her five-year-old son Renee Jr. would have a brother or sister to play with at their Lake Las Vegas home." (Click here for yesterday's Luxe Life exclusive as to the stars who will be taking her place at Caesars) The world tour would not be one-nighters. Instead, Celine would play multiple concerts in various world capitals and major cities around the globe in what would be the biggest show-business box-office take in history. "Celine wants to even outpace the box office pull of Barbra Streisand's current tour," I was told. (Streisand plays MGM next weekend, November 18, where some tickets have sold for well over $1,000 apiece! And that's before the scalpers get them!) "Celine has an "open invitation" to return to Caesars whenever she wishes, but felt she could tackle the ambitious lengthy world tour for one last time and wanted to break more box office records before she became a new Mommy again."

Yes, I hope so too..

 

Since her last tour she has build up quite a repertoire, so I really hope, most songs on the setlist will come from that repertoire and not too much from her backcatalogue/her older songs (or they have to be songs she never/rarely performed)..

 

I have to say though, with a tour, it's a pretty good sign the 2 new albums are going to be top class!

She has so many albums, so many songs and it's almost a sure bet she will sing songs from "A New Day Has Come" and "One Heart" as well as from the new English CD in first place. It will be a "new" Céline after all, not the old one we know from the 90's. I can't imagine her doing the same songs she's singing in Vegas... Anyhow I'll be sure to catch her in Belgium/France and in Germany just to listen to the French songs and as we know her she'll concentrate on the new French album there.

 

Now I also smell many disappointed faces cuzz everyone now is expecting Céline to come and visit "their" country - I wish she'd know that, I wish she'd even visit countries she has never visited before like some Asian countries and yes, some European countries she and René forgot that they exist. She may be up for a surprise but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I very much doubt it.. I reckon Céline will be going for "freedom" now. "A New Day" was so fixed and has less room for improvisation. On tour, Céline always goes wiiiild!

PLUS people around the globe KNOW the kind of praise and admiration as a performer Celine has recieved from "A new day.." Every possible big name celebrity has seen the show and people rave about the performances.....including Oprah who said it was the best show shes ever seen.
