Special Benefit Show in Montreal - 7/14

I'm sure something must've passed through her head... OMG!! She'll be in Montreal!! Only a 4-5 hour drive away from heerrrre!! **VROOM VROOM!**

Maybe we'll have a release...maybe not...We all know that her 1f&4t is already an acoustic album...so it's possible that she'll just do some prerecorded or playback songs, but who cares...She's za best!!!!

I'm clearly biased when it comes to french music (actually if Celine never recorded one more song in english I wouldn't even miss it- not that I don't like her english music, I love it but her french music is much superior) and an acoustic concert is orgasmic and 1f4t is my favourite album of all times.

 

But anyways I can't be there and it's not worth it to cry about it. I don't complain if there's not an CD or DVD or whatever. I feel very proud of her because she is actually using her vacation time to do something for charity. She is a great woman with a great heart.

Well, if Rene invited all of his friends, then I guess they're not money hungry. They're just doing it to have fun. Celine is on holiday, Rene gambles, why not mix the to together and have some fun?

WHOA! Why the attacks on Celine. Yes, she's doing things without us as fans being able to be a part, but big whoop! Like mentioned before, she owes us nothing. She can do things without us having to be able to see it or be a part. Would you want someone to expect you to share everything you do with them? Back off some and give the woman some breathing room. She does care about her fans, she just doesn't always have to give us access to everything. She might not even have control over what happens. As for the mixed signals on what she says and what happens for example. Everyone needs to calm down... and Siur, it's Rene, not Reney.

I can understand why you would think that, and hey, maybe she is doing a little experimenting to see how the the jazzy/acoustic will sound and be recieved before she goes full blown with it?  It at least looks like a step in the right direction!

It's a good forum to try out jazz tunes in a casual setting.

Celine will perform tonight in a special private benefit show at the golf course 'Le Mirage', in the Montreal area. Proceeds from this show called 'Céline pour les enfants' will be donated to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Ste-Justine Hospital Foundation and the Celine Dion Foundation.

I totally agree with both of you!!!!! I think it's amazing that Celine worries about sick children even if she is on vacation and also it's great to know that she & Rene don't care about publicity when things are for charities. It was certainly planned months and months ago and just now we could know about it, less than a week before the event.

 

It's a human nature to complain. People will always complain even when they don't have the right to do it. What can we do.... I just feel sorry for them! lmao

I think in English we are more spoiled. There is more variety. In French she has more stability. First she sang songs by Eddy Marnay, then Luc Plamondon, then Jean-Jacques Goldman and now Veneruso. In English she worked with a lot more different people, she sang different styles from different songwriters.

 

I also hope for an English jazz album - and a French one as well. I want two of them, each in one language

That's exactly the spirit. Celine was never like: Look darlings, I've made a concert for charity... see I made a fortune to offer to little children... See, I'm so generous!!! She was never an attention w**re especially when it comes to charity and helping others.

Dion gives charity concert

 

MONTREAL -- Celine Dion interrupted her month-long summer vacation yesterday by hosting a golf tournament and giving a concert that's expected to raise $1 million for three Quebec children's charities.

 

About 600 people were expected to attend the concert at Le Mirage golf course north of Montreal, which Dion and her husband Rene Angelil have owned since 1997.

 

Tickets never went on sale. Instead, they were offered privately to friends. Prices were $15,000 and $25,000, depending on the number of concert tickets.

 

Proceeds will be divided among the Ste-Justine Hospital Foundation, the Quebec Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Celine Dion Foundation.
