are there music charts in China? How Celine did in China? Do you know anything?

No, there's no Official chart in China. Even therere some radio charts, but those are for Chinese singers only. So there's no accurate data about sales here.

 

But Celine is of course one of the best selling foreign singer in China, also the most well-kown. Every album of Celine since A'Olympia to Miracle were released in China, including French ones. That's very rare in foreign singers. You can find her CD in every music store. In most stores Celine CDs on shelf are more than Mariah's + Whitney's + Madonna's.

Till now I have posted charts by country. Now I will post them by singles/albums (with a little commentary).

 

I'll start with Unison era. Unison album was released first in Canada in April 1990 and promoted by single Any other way. Second single was Unison. After that Sony released this album in US in September 1990 with the first single Where does my heart beat now. Europe, Australia & Japan got this single and album in March 1991 (so Celine's English debut in there was almost a year after album's release in Canada).

This album was released in November 1991 in Canada and in April 1992 in France (with commercial single Je danse dans ma tete). In France it first charted 1,5 year after it's release. It was thanks to hit-song Ziggy in 1993. Due to this success Sony released another commercial single in January 1994 - L'amour existe encore. In 1994 this album was released in many English speaking countries.

The power of love was BIG in US, Think twice was a flop there. Think twice was BIG in Europe and a flop in US. The colour of my love was Celine's first album to sold around 20.000.000 copies worldwide. It was her first album to reach number one in albums charts. And singles: The power of love, Think Twice & To love you more were first singles to reach number one in singles charts. So for me this is her first BREAKTHROUGH album and the first I like in 100%
