delo3934 Posted April 26, 2006 at 06:52 PM Posted April 26, 2006 at 06:52 PM I absolutely love. Truly celine Truly. I believe that celine has the most beautiful voice in the world but lately i've been worried. Since she released a new day has come in 2002, i noticed that her voice seemed diferent. I thought it was because I hadn't heard her sing live, but it definitely wasn't that. I saw her perform live numerous times, and her voice wasn't in top shape and it sounded realy different. Not only that, when she began her magnificent "a new day" show, her voice seemed really nasal and that it wasn't to the power as i knew it from the nineties. I know celine is getting older, and that she mentioned that after the birth of rene charles, she wasn't so crazy about having her voice in top shape, but to tell you the truth, i miss that power. I miss that sublimity that i feel her voice is lacking. Yeah in some of the live versions her voice sounds really powerful, but to tell you the truth it kind of sounds strained and she's relying more on playback more than ever. What do you guys think? I'm worried that celine's voice isn't the calibur as it once was while others such as patti labelle, and Andrea bocelli are quite older than celine and can sing just as great as they began. I just want to know if celine's voice is wearing down. I really truly hope to god that it's not. But in all seriousness, i'm worried...... Quote
Céline's Blues Posted April 26, 2006 at 07:13 PM Posted April 26, 2006 at 07:13 PM Hello delo3934, I really appreciate your concern about Céline's vocal condition and I think you speak wise words by putting all together in your post. I must also say you will be very likely correct that her voice *is* actually "wearing down" and deteriorating steadily as years go by. This however is due to many factors - some you have mentioned and some not like the actualy combination of Céline not caring for her voice as much coupled with her extensive Vegas deal and the horredous Vegas climate. Both factors are really serious and both are something you can't simply change from day to day. Patti Labelle, Andrea Bocielli and many other singers like each and every individual on earth have their own life philosphy, simply something they are happy with and something that keeps them going. Céline has chosen to change her life philosophy as soos as her son was born. From this day on she put her voice into background and maximized the Rene-Charles-Windows on her desktop. Now from time to time she likes to press the ALT+TAB buttons and come back to the old Voice-Window that is still there hidden in the backround on the desktop yet she can't help but come back quickly to her no.1-application: Rene-Charles&family. This is actually the way she has chosen her life philosphy to be, this is the way that makes *her* happy. It is true that one would expect her that when the Vegas-pop-up appeared she would immediately switch back to the old Voice-window and it would stay there at the top for the time of her Vegas deal, but she decided otherwise and I for one respect her for that. I bet she was all aware of the consequencies: Having the RC-Windows on the top makes you unable to track your vocal status and to concentrate on your voice like you were back in the day where you had only this one window open... but that's life. You live it, you decide what makes you personally happy. No exceptions allowed. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Depp27 Posted April 27, 2006 at 05:47 AM Posted April 27, 2006 at 05:47 AM First of all, women's voices drop when they have children, if you notice she hits lower notes. But asside from the fact that she doesn't "Devote" her life to music, she has a family now, I don't see much of a diff. Sure some of the times I saw her in Vegas were better than others, but the voice is a muscle that gets tired like any other, and she was still always amazing. THe only really diff I see is that she puts more soul into it...and that nasal "bee-gees" sound, as I call it, I think is her own twist and soul in it. Quote
mazceline Posted April 27, 2006 at 08:38 AM Posted April 27, 2006 at 08:38 AM I had not really noticed, after many years singing it must take its tole, on the voice, even on a bad day though she is still fantastic Quote http://i16.tinypic.com/7yg8tv8.jpgSignature made by the webmiss of www.celinerific.comCeline is in 2 words MY ANGEL x x

delo3934 Posted April 27, 2006 at 06:06 PM Author Posted April 27, 2006 at 06:06 PM Well i do understand that after years of singing and as you get older your voice doesn't stay the same, but it worries me. I love that celine is family first. I'm definitely for that also. At the same time, to me i just get the feeling that although she loves to sing, and still blows everybody away, i still miss that extra something that i feel is not there as much as before. If you remember the a&e biography special, at the end she said "maybe i don't sing that good technically today, but i definitely sing better" so she acknowledges something to the fact that the voice isn't all there. And like i wrote before, listening to the songs just even in 1999 in bootlegs and albums compared to now is really different. i know she sang with alot of soul before, heck you could see that when she would sing those songs like the power of love that would make your jaw drop to the floor. But with celine 25 years into the business, and my love for her health hapiness and voice, i'm just afraid that compared to the way she sings now and all the issues surrunding why her voice may be going down frightens me. I don't know maybe i'm worng but in all honesty i miss that something in her voice. Maybe its the longing that i miss in it who knows, but i just miss something. to me its nt the same. Nonetheless i believe truly she has THE most beautiful voice in the world, she can do anything with it, classical, rock, whatever. Thats what makes it even more worrysome for me that that spectacular voice, maybe in decline..... Quote
nati Posted April 27, 2006 at 07:03 PM Posted April 27, 2006 at 07:03 PM I don't care how she sounds she will always be great to me. Even if her voice goes I think she will be remembered to us the fans as a very caring person who strives to make sure her fans are happy; and likes to make people smile and laugh inside and out. I still believe she has great pipes and I will always be an admirer of hers until the day I die, because of what she did for me. Quote Thanks Celine for the great memories. I will never forget you
delo3934 Posted April 28, 2006 at 01:51 AM Author Posted April 28, 2006 at 01:51 AM I'm not saying that i think her voice is worse than it has been in the past. i'm just saying that i notice a difference and it worried me. i do absolutely love celine for all that she has done as a human being in general, especially her music which has touch my life like you wouldn't believe. But i just notice its more subtle, different in general. Her voice is still magnificent, but i can't help but feel that its different. Quote
firebird Posted April 28, 2006 at 07:22 AM Posted April 28, 2006 at 07:22 AM I think her voice is as good as before, sometimes you can hear it, but she has become very lazy with it and doesn't train it as much as before. Quote

DjCeline Posted April 28, 2006 at 10:30 AM Posted April 28, 2006 at 10:30 AM there have been many many threads regarding this topic and there have also been a lot of opinions concerning Celine's voice. maybe Celine's voice has changed...maybe she decided not too push so much, especially given the fact that she sings in the desert! it's true that in her house and in the colloseum the humidity is controled...but she still goes outside...i am sure Celine knows what she is doing. it's her life, it's her decision. she can't always be in top shape..she's not a robot for God's sake! all in all i'm happy that she still sings for us, that she still cares for her fans..and she always will no matter what happens because she's just an angel...! xo1hrt4celineox Posted April 28, 2006 at 05:44 PM Posted April 28, 2006 at 05:44 PM I had been wondering about the exact contents of this topic since One Heart came out. Like most have said, its not that her voice is bad, just something (and I'm not even sure what) is a little different. She still is magnificent, but it seems like shes not always complete perfection. Like someone said she more "lazy" if you want to call it that b/c she is one of the most disciplined stars I've ever heard of. Also with the family first, we have to remember, Celine has given us so much over the years. Given of her self, her time, her love, now she needs to give that to Rene-Charles and she knows that. I'm glad she is the kind of person to value her family so much and not be a typical "hollywood star," its one of the main reasons why I love her so much. However, we as fans cant help but be a little tiny bit concerned that this wonderful phenominal truly amazing talent will leave us. Athough, she is a professional and knows what she's doing best, so I guess we just have to place our complete trust in her, and her sensational vocals, and know that she would never lead us astray. stevethefan Posted May 1, 2006 at 05:39 AM Posted May 1, 2006 at 05:39 AM I've only seen Celine sing live a few times and it was recently, last year. I thought she sounded great but I have nothing to compare it to since I never saw her when she sang on her worldwide tours. I'm sure every singer goes through changes with age and environment, etc. In todays world there are so many technological gimicks that they can use in the studio and even live I'm really never sure how much of what we hear is all the singer's own natural voice. But I think she still is a great singer and if anything, even with the dry Las Vegas climate, her voice is getting better. She's singing alot and that probably strengthens her voice. I'd like to think of it as creating "character" rather than being anything negative. I'm just happy that she is singing and we can enjoy her for the next year or so if we can make the trek to Las Vegas as many of us have. It's like a fine wine that improves with age. Quote
george Posted May 1, 2006 at 07:39 PM Posted May 1, 2006 at 07:39 PM I think she definitely has still her voice but it is vegas and the tireness that keep it sometimes in a peculiar condition....take for example a song she recorded two or three years ago:''nadie lo entiende'' with the group cafe quijano.....it was one of the most powerful and grandiose interpretations EVER!!!!!!!!she was absolutely stunning in that song....and it was after she gave birth to Rene-Charles....and guys whatever we say we talk about the no.1 voice......Celine!!!!!we will always love her for everything she is and she has given to us!!!!! ginossi Posted May 2, 2006 at 12:08 AM Posted May 2, 2006 at 12:08 AM Hello guys, As an opera singer, I'd like to give my technical point of view on the subject. I've read everyone's opinions, some I agree, others not. I think Celine's let herself go a bit, like someone commented before, she got lazy and doesn't train as much. That's what happened when she decided to take the 2 year break. I'm sure she trains her voice nowadays, otherwise she wouldn't be able to do the Vegas show. Doing the Vegas show is and I'm sorry, the craziest thing she's done. It's terrible for the voice to do a show like that several nights a week. She has a lot of money, she shouldn't have done it. Someone mentioned Andrea Boccelli in this thread, saying he was older and his voice was top-notch, whoever it was, was onto something. I'm afraid pop singers don't have the same training than opera singers. I mean, the bases are similar but no the same, if you don't believe me, listen to Pavarotti, he's over 60 and sings amazing, of course he's retiring but Celine's thirty-something or almost forty. To all people out there who want to sing, I suggest to train themselves the way opera singers do, then sing whatever you want. Remember that Celine took singing lessons from her mother and not a qualified vocal coach. Later on in her carreer she began to take singing lessons with professional vocal coaches but she took the lessons WHILE STILL SINGING, that is a HUGE NO NO. She should have taken a time off back then and come back after that. But that doesn't only happen to Celine, it happens to most pop singers, none of them have a good solid technique. Then there are singers like Celine who, technique aside, are extremely talent so they rely on that talent but it doesn't last forever, remember these are muscles which are extremely fragil. The weather in Vegas has nothing to do with it, it's the fact that she's getting older, the fact that she's stressing her voice a lot by doing the show several times a week, and the fact that she never had a good solid technique or MOST IMPORTANTLY, she never had the time to actually stop and take the time to develop a good technique. Singers know all the tricks and when I listen to Celine I can tell when she's singing properly, using technique and when she sings from her throat which ultimately kills the voice. When you're singing, especially when you're hitting high notes, that is the moment where you have to put your technique to the test, otherwise the voice might break and despite the embarrassement, it damages the voice, not right away but it will eventually. When Celine has to hit the high notes, she doesn't always use technique, she screams the note and I can assure you guys, there lies the issue. She does half and half, half tehcnique, half screaming. You can get away with that when you're young and at Celine's age, I would advice her to drop the silly show and really start taking care of her voice, that is if she wants to keep it in shape but that's entirely up to her, wether to keep on training or just sit back, relax and enjoy life. Thanks, sorry if it was too long. Gonzalo.- Quote
