Artist performing @ Caesar's after Celine is....

I think Caesars can attract more tours if they have a venue that isn't used every night. At the moment the tours might not be able to come to Caesars Palace because Celine or Elton is already using the Colosseum. But if Cher has her own place then the Colosseum will only be used by Elton, and he doesn't use it that often. So it will be available to other big names like Mariah, U2, Madonna etc. And this means more choice for the tourists and more money for Caesars.

Definately a good point.... They also have that stage in front of Caesars now (previously Circus Maximus) where artist also perform.. Peter Frampton performed there on the 22th (April)

WOW! Has anyone looked at Cher lately. Sort of a cross between Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. (old, haggered and trampy. Not to mention Chers mouth and morals) If that happens, it will certainly lower the rent in the neighborhood. Cher is a has-been ever since she dumped Sonny. Cher never drew the crowds in concert that she did when "Sonny & Cher was the headliner. there is no way Cher will pack those seats like Celine. Celine, from a money stand point, is not replacable.

i am a die-hard Cher fan as well as celine - cher never retired, she just stopped touring world wide. infact she has an album and a movie coming out in the next year or two.

 

this is such a friendly forum, please dont ruin it by insulting other artists. it makes people feel angry!

I think too, that Cher is a very good choice! But I seriously doubt they are going to tear down the Colosseum to build something new...that would be crazy after just a few years...if they build something new it's probably going to be somethng else. Sigh it's sounds so definate now we know who's Caesars next headliner, really the end of an era...and I am so so proud of our Céline for pulling this off...remember how many doubts they had at first!! I think its a good choice for Cher to be able to perform there. Maybe its my age, but i like Cher as well, shes been in the music business a long long time.

At least we can remember that Celine was the first one to perform there, so it doesn't really matter who performs after. We all have our own views of who we want to perform there. I think Cher would think its an honour to be able to perform after Celine.

I've seen Cher live a few times. She's pretty good. Although the countless costume changes get a bit much. The show just gets going again and she's off for another outfit change LOL!

 

Celine is much better, but that's because I've a closed mind hehe!

didnt cher do something similar in the her early career? Ive heard somewhere that she did shows in vegas for like 6 months or somethings. Of course not the kind of show like Celine does but still something similar.

It would be cool to see Cher in sucha show, I saw her a few years ago (1999), one of the best concerts Ive ever been too!

I think what will happen is they will build in the plaza area in front of new tower. I also think that with Celine having been there for four years the crew at CP will have probably learned what worked and didn't work. How they could save money and make it look like a billion bucks. Also, I think Cher's show will more than likely be more extravagant. What will happen is that there will probably be more acrobatics involved and whatnot as to draw the audiences eye in the air while Cher moves from one side to the other. Just a smoke and mirrors trick. I've also noticed that Cher is sometimes more willing to take chances than Celine, not to mention her record label. If Celine ever does leave Sony I hope she goes with Warner Bros. They actually PROMOTE their artists. That's my opinion.

I think Cher will do pretty well at Caesar's. Although I wish she, like the Rolling Stones, would at least stop calling every tour the "last tour." The last tour for the last twenty five years is more like it (I guess it helps sell tickets). Even though Celine added the extra year in 2007 to her contract, I really don't think she will add another one. She wants to try and have another child and I'm sure she wants to take a break after four years, five nights a week performing. I can't imagine that they would completely tear down and rebuild the colliseum, but it IS Las Vegas where that would not suprise me. You would think they would just possibly remodel the colliseum for Cher nstead of build a new one. It will be interesting to see. I think it will be exciting to see what Celine wil do after Las Vegas in a few years. Hopefully she will do at least some kind of touring at some time.

I think you are underestimating Cher...she did just pull off a tour that lasted for 3 years and took her all over the globe. I think that if there's one thing Cher has made very clear in her very, very long career is that she can do anything she wants (even bad informercials). She's got a long, extensive fan base, and seems like she would be in sync nicely with vegas. She hasn't been an "evil ficken diva for 40 fricken years" because she has no fans, they will come.

 

That said, i must agree with one thing you said, No one can do a show like Céline. I'm sad to see Céline leaving vegas, but am more excited to see what the future will bring for her!

The problem with Chers costumes though is that she does spend more time off stage getting changed than on. That said her shows are great.

Great news! I love Cher very much, she's my favorite singer after Celine actually. Cher's looking great and singing great and everything about Cher is obviously so hilarious that I believe she'll fit with Las Vegas itself perfectly..
