Definition of FAN...

Well, you're here for just one day, I've been here since this forum opened and I can tell you how things changed. Recently there has been a boring and annying time when everything is so negative sometimes for no reason.

The thing is, not too long ago there was more positivity, thing were easier, people were all friendly. Now people are just negative. Soon Celine will be criticized for breathing.

 

I'm over and done with this subject.

I don't agree with the fact that you just inplied that because you've been here longer than someone else, you are somehow more qualified to tell us all if we are good Céline fans or not, as far as I am concerned, it doesn't work like that.

 

I don't understand where you two are coming from, Mozhina and 1celine12 Why can't people have an opinion that doesn't match your own? Why can't Céline be critisised? Do you want us to become like Mariah Carey's fans and believe that she is perfect even when she does things that pretty much suck?

 

I don't like the fact that you are pointing the finger at other people and saying that they are not true Céline fans because they don't want her to sing playback. I don't know why you have appointed yourself/ves the "Célinechannel police" and feel obliged to start threads telling people what they can and cannot post.

 

Like I said, I admire very much your sentiments, you love Céline, so do I! We all do! Sometimes we get upset that she can't be the perfect artist, but there is no need to get so upset about it! In the end, we all want her to be the best that she can be, we want her to be the best singer in the world and the most famous and popular, so when one of us feels like she is doing something that is working against that, we are going to speak about it.

 

I agree Let's not only talk about the good and let's not only talk about the bad, let's have a balance, and give her a break sometimes, because it's true that she can't support every cause and sing every song.

I'm not pointing the finger at anyone at all. I never tried to look a better fan than anyone at all. It's not the kind of thing I would do. People who know me will tell you this. And, as a matter of fact, I didn't even create this topic.

 

 

I've been here since day one. This doesn't make me a "Célinechannel police" or whatever you call it. But when I look in retrospective, this forum wasn't this negative before. There were not people saying bad things about everything. It was much nicer. That's why I told someone who just arrived yesterday couldn't understand my point, because I'm talking in retrospective. Everybody complains about something, nothing is perfect. Don't you think I complain too? The thing is, this getting rather annoying that whenever we go it's always the same comments over and over again. Complain if it's black and complain if it's white. It's getting on everyone's nerves, not just me. Look at the other topics and you'll see it for yourself. Almost everyone is sick of this negativity. And I get all the blame.

I've been here since day one, never tried to make people think like me, never got any warning from mods, administrators, anyone at all. We've had hot discussions before, I remember it back at Live 8 and the Larry King Katrina thing and it was interesting, lot's of different opinions but always in a nice tone. I don't remember people complaining about these discussions or getting sick of it as we see it now. And I was never ever accused of not respecting other people's opinions, I've never been rude to anyone, I never acted like everyone had to think like me. Ask anyone you want and they will tell you.

 

It saddens me that this got to this point. And as I've said before, when I don't like something, I'm out. And you know what, you want to be negative, so be it. And enjoy yourself. I have better things to do with my life than coming to a place and be acused of wanting to control other people. Far more better things, for sure.

It's not the first time something like that happens. Of course it's so boring to see people criticize Céline for no real reasons, just because they're tired of her. I've been away from the forum for a few weeks already, and apparenly I was right LOL. It's not funny to read topics when all the "fans" argue, is it? Anyway...

 

According to me, a fan is someone who admires an artist, who loves what she/he does, who supports her/him. But also someone who doesn't say "yes yes yes" to all that the artist does. I think it's an important point.

I forgot to tell you, we have a feature to ignore users's post you don't want to read.

When you add a user to your ignore list, any posts they make will be masked until you specify that you wish to read them. You may not be able to ignore users if they are in a member group which doesn't allow them to be added.

Bellamy, why would we wanna use the ignore users thing you are talkin about? I have never needed to use that. I hope I never will.

 

Like I said before, someone has to make a topic about the GREAT things that Céline has done and that somebody was me. Just read my topic entitled "Something I've always wanted to do for a long time" and you will see that I've gotten a bunch of responses about it.

 

I am the guilty party here because I just wanted to state my opinion on my definition of what a fan was. I'm sorry guys for starting a hot topic. I never meant to make people get this upset over something as childish as this. I hope in the future that if people want to talk about something like this, that it's the positive things about Céline and not the negetive things about her.

 

One more thing : I think we should just let Céline be who she is and try not to crititque her every word. What I mean is that we really should just try and think of what a wonderful artist that she is and not sit at the computer and just complain about how crappy her singing/performance/interviews were and focus on the positive.

 

Like Mozinha has said: I am not gonna come here and read posts that have negetivity written all over them. From now on when I come in here I am just gonna read the topic titles and if they spell trouble, I'm not gonna read them. That will make me want to act like some of you ppl in here and you know who you are. I am not gonna act like that. I know better than that and I tend to keep away from some of the negetive posts. I will shut up now.
