Second, I think it is great that Céline seem to raise him to be open minded!

End of story.  :D

 I'm fan of her and yeah I like when she talk about her son or René but what she does in her private life only concern to her, that's just my opinion.

My Love

I happen to agree with you. I think that her and RC playing with the doll is very cute. I don't care if Céline uses a doll to help teach RC. I wouldn't care if Céline dressed RC in a dress. Putting a dress on RC would be the cutest thing. Who cares what Céline and RC do to have fun. That shows me that Céline is a great mother.

Yes, I've always thought she looked super sexy in that dress, it kinda matches the tone of the room :giggle:

We might kiss when we are alone... When nobody's watching... We might take it home... We might make out... When nobody's there... It's not that we're scared... It's just that it's delicate... We might live like never before... When there's nothing to give... Well how can we ask for more... We might make love in some sacred place... The look on your face is delicate

There is nothing wrong with a child playing with a doll. Celine could be preparing him for the next baby....we did that with our kids! Kids are so innocent, they don't have preconceived notions that ......a boy shouldn't play with a doll. There really isn't anything wrong with it, just child play. Why pick on such a thing? Celine has demonstrated to be one of the most caring people..and certainly a loving, wonderful mother.
Je t'aime Celine!

Don't cha think that MAYBE she is teaching him how to hold a baby and feed it. Since Anne-Marie has just had her 3rd baby...which is René-Charles nieces and nephews...it would be good practice before letting him loose on the newborn?

OK...I don't get this!! What's wrong with a boy playing with a doll?? If she had had a girl and there was a picture of her playing cars with her no one would say a thing!

I also agree it's good practice for RC since there are a lot of babies he would be around in the family.

I'm guessing Celine wanted to teach RC about babies and how to treat them. Since we all know she wants more children, RC will eventually have a sibling and he needs to understand how gentle you need to be with a baby.

Also, is it so bad that she is teaching RC to be a caring loving brother, who will one day be a caring loving father?!

So suddenly, it's clear to me

Things change

Our future lies in here and now

We live it through somehow

Now the greatest reward

Is the love that I can give

I'm here for you now

For as long as I live

You made me who I am

I think it's an adorable pic, too! I don't see any problem with it! Celine and Rene want to have a baby in the future and it is human to teach RC how to interact with babies and know how to play with them, maybe Celine is just giving him practice! He will (hopefully) be a big brother soon! :msn-wink:

It's rude to come to the internet to judge how someone is raising their children, no matter if they are famous or not. It's just rude.

But even so I'll answer.

I'm taking a major on education and elementary school teaching and I can ASSURE you there is nothing wrong about a boy playing with a doll. I've been doing internships and volunteer work in kindergarttens and day cares and this is normal behaviour. Kids do whatever they see grown ups doing.

It's gone the time people would just say: dolls for girls and cars for boys. This is an old conception that doesn't make any sense anymore. Toys are made for everyone.

And we all know Celine is not raising her son has a girl. We all know he is obsessed with cars and Nascar and does sports like golf and hockey. We've seen the clothes he wears. So this is just non sense.

It is OK for boys to hold a doll and give it a bottle, ok?

wow..give me my opinion back! You took the words right out of my mouth!

How would you like it if someone you didn't know told you how to raise your kids? :o

I think that it's great that Celine lets RC play with the doll. I don't think it will hurt him one bit to learn how to love on a baby and know how to take care of it. If Celine plans on having another baby then I think she's incredibly smart teaching RC how to handle it. I agree with other posts, girls playing with dolls is a gender stereotype. I bet Rene is fine with the whole thing also. I love this picture and I think it's great that RC is able to care for a baby and will be prepared to be a great big brother!

I was trained to teach languages and had lots of related sciences in Uni (various aspects of psychology included) and from my experience as well, I can say it's a very healthy thing to demonstrate your child various aspects of life in toy-form...In fact it does help the child a lot later on - having dolls as well as robots and cars - makes him more perceptive and less scared by growing up, opposite sex tricks, etc. So we can only be happy if all parents have a broad approach like Celine!

The dress looks amazing on Celine and RC and her are starting to look a lot alike. They are so gorgeous.

I don't see a problem with boys playing with dolls coz my baby cousin, Sheldon, is 4 this year and he likes playing with dolls and at one stage he wouldn't play with anything else but dolls. I think it could help them in the future to be loving fathers.

I agree..I played with dolls.. Oh wait, that's probably not the best story to tell for the "dolls not turn gay" argument :in_love:

I also agree. My little brother played with dolls with me and he´s just a normal, playful boy. I think it doesn´t make any harm to RC, it´s just a great way to play with her mum :)

And, in my opinion it´s totally Celine´s own business how she raises her child. I mean, I read that book, For Keeps, and she seems to raise him so well and loves him deeply. So everything she decides to do with him, I truly believe that it´s all the best for him :)

They look so cute together. What a lucky boy

I think dolls are a very educational toy for a child, regardless of sex or gender. It allows the child to use their nurturing and caring skills which are much more productive than all these games that promote violence and destruction. I think it makes absolute sense for a child to play with a doll, especially when as said earlier RC is in a family with other young children and may have a younger sibling himself eventually. I firmly believe that toys have no effect on the sexuality of a child, I believe that is predetermined in the genetic make-up of the person. Hopefully RC has been introduced to a wide range of games and toys which will educate him intellectually and emotionally in a gentle and balanced way. I do not doubt for a second he will have an amazing start to life as he has devoted and mature parents, who have both the experience and the means to give him more than he could need. He is a vey lucky boy!

Well there's nothing starnge..

do not confuse sex with "gender behavior"

boys should be macho, should love cars, football,... blue for boys...

girls should be gentle, caring, should love knitting, cooking,....pink for girls...

boys who like "girl things" are gays and girls who like "boy things" are lesbians...

(not to mention gays and lesbians are constructed ideas as well)

these notions are all "constructed" in the society. "gender behaviors" don't equate sex.

everyone in this world should learn how to be open-minded and to drop off the prejudices... (or at least, if they can't, they don't go out and attack different people...)

these are my thoughts.

Would u prefer him 2 b playing with toy guns or knives?

How do you know that that doll wasnt celines when she was younger?

I dont c a problem with it.. Rene was a baby once.. Celine wants another baby.. she is probley showing RC what she used to do to him when he was a baby... feed him. So naturally he wants to do the same.

She’s a diva! We loves us some Celine!
