Chin Posted January 13, 2006 at 09:46 AM Posted January 13, 2006 at 09:46 AM I think both of them are... "I Surrender" is full of power, and "I Know What Love Is" is softer~ but two of them, I will choose "I Surrender," I love this song~ Quote
Krys Posted January 13, 2006 at 10:16 AM Posted January 13, 2006 at 10:16 AM i think both songs have their own potential. no doubt I Surrender is more popular Quote
rosebud Posted January 13, 2006 at 10:37 AM Posted January 13, 2006 at 10:37 AM i agree, i surrender would have more potential as a single, but i still like i know what love is Quote

Boy Posted January 13, 2006 at 11:44 PM Posted January 13, 2006 at 11:44 PM Don't know. I surrender is very strong and shocking ballad and I'm not really sure that would be great to choose that song as a sigle. I Know What Love Is, I guess. It's softer and that's very... It was meant to be a hit but... Alas! By the way, here are some songs that I think would be VERY successful if they were singles. Naked.Reveal.Ain't gonna look the other way. And Love is all we neeed, maybe. Quote Love comes to those who believe it...

René 2 Posted January 14, 2006 at 01:21 PM Posted January 14, 2006 at 01:21 PM I SURRENDER! is so a powerful song. I love it Quote
fred Posted January 14, 2006 at 03:45 PM Posted January 14, 2006 at 03:45 PM Like I have always said and always will say: I Surrender should had been released coz it is the only power ballad Céline has performed after her break and the only track which could bring her back to the hights she was before (or even higher). The track is genius and the top example of wasted tracks... Although I am very happy it got to be in A New Day (even though I haven't heard it in good quality yet (cd quality)). To not include it on the AND LIL cd was...can't find words for it. The only way they could had "saved" this hit is to have released it as a live cd single from the AND LIL album (and include it there of course) and promote it with a live performance video taken from the AND LIL DVD (which were to be released but never got to)... but no... And doesn't it just make you sad? /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
celinedionsfan Posted January 14, 2006 at 05:07 PM Posted January 14, 2006 at 05:07 PM Both songs!! But I SURRENDER might have a better chance because she's been performing the song at NEW DAY. Quote http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h24/celinedionsfan/candmsig8.jpg
ZoraSourit Posted January 14, 2006 at 05:27 PM Posted January 14, 2006 at 05:27 PM I have to say both of them. They are different songs but both with great potencial to be hits. Jeanine Posted January 14, 2006 at 09:50 PM Posted January 14, 2006 at 09:50 PM I like both songs very, very much. But we're not talking about what we, Céline-fans, think about songs; but how 'normal' (can I say that , maybe regular / common people fits better..) will think about songs. And these times are in my opnion not a time for beautifull soft-ballads, whereas "I Know What Love Is" is such a song, it would be a flop to release it as single. The beautifull piano-music and Céline's voice. People would not appreciate that, 'cause it doesn't fit in the radio stations playlist. ('Alas). But "I Surrender" has much more potential: it's more up-tempo, it's a powerballad like there were before her hiatus, it's classic (also mentioned in the point above),it's in "A New Day..." so maybe people heard the song before: many people (also not Céline-fans ) have been to the show. So, I think Sony maid, as usual , a fault in releasing singles, because "I Surrender" really would have entered the charts!!! I'm sure of that, it's such a good song!!! Jeanine<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't completely agree with you. The cover of 'Listen To Your Heart' that was a recent hit proves that also soft songs can still become hits. It is often quite unpredictable when a song becomes a hit. I think the most important factors are the beauty of the melody and the arrangements of the song. In that perspective I also think I Surrender would be a greater hit. It should definitely have been released! Quote
