sander21 Posted December 30, 2005 at 06:35 PM Posted December 30, 2005 at 06:35 PM She was so great in Blues the bussinesman. She never sang it like this before. Sounded like a different version in some parts. Thanks for sharing Quote

Ania4 Posted December 30, 2005 at 07:09 PM Posted December 30, 2005 at 07:09 PM I've just seen the video of Le Blues Du Businessman. Thanks for sharing It was not her best performance ever of this song but it was not that bad. It is nice to see Celine singing this great song LIVE. But I think she will never sing it like she did at Live a Paris concert which is my favourite ... Quote

Zsuzsa Posted December 30, 2005 at 07:49 PM Posted December 30, 2005 at 07:49 PM I have different feelings... I have listened to mp3s of the show three times and I enjoyed the first 3 min of LBDB but last 1 min was terrible. she sounded the worst i have ever heard. she tried to give her best but it was weak. I surrender was good but I don't know why that girl thought she had to oversing Céline. I'm waiting for videos. You are great. Quote
PHJG Posted December 30, 2005 at 08:43 PM Posted December 30, 2005 at 08:43 PM Well...I saw the first video and i think that Celine was amazing..It's wasn't your best but she was great.I don't think she was bad like someone spoke...The band wasn't good for me!! I can't wati to see the others videos!! Thanks again!!! Quote
fred Posted December 30, 2005 at 09:06 PM Posted December 30, 2005 at 09:06 PM (edited) Just saw the performance. I am a very critical person, most of you know that. And I had somehow expected nothing super special since some of you gave some not so good reviews. So with little expectations I watched her perform, and man was I surprised. I am nothing but curious on future projects of hers. I hope she delivers them as she wish more than being directed too much by the producer. She's a fenomenal artist. That's for sure. Some mentioned her raspy parts as something negative. I don't. They do so much more to me than "perfect" soaring high parts. I love it when she raps in some long notes on All By Myself (when performed live), and I have always wished for her to sound like that more often. Now she does in this performance (or perhaps something's wrong with my codec, I don't know) and that pleases me. This is a hard song. Try to pull it off people. And she comes on stage on a day when she's not that happy with her vocal condition (as it was claimed somewhere) and kicks butt. She shows once more that she is the best, and that she is the only one who can carry this song, no matter vocal condition. It's class. And people are having Barbra Streisand as the utlimate female vocalist, but I must disagree. I have never heard her go through the wide spectra as Céline has (now I am no Streisand expert so please prove me wrong if you feel like it ). So Céline rules... what other statements shall we know do? Uhm one thing with this performance I didn't like however, and that had nothing to do with the leading vocalist, but the orchestra. The overall arrengements sounded like something taken from a show for seniors, old fashion like, in a not so good way. And while Céline rocks, the orchestra doesn't. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing more I'd want but to see Céline being backed up by hundreds of violins and good drums and all there is to it, but I have to say this didn't match up what I had in mind. It feels as if Céline is doing all her best (which she is) and the orchestra is running to catch up with her or even pulls the other way. And the trumpets (or what they are called) takes too much attention here... But this is just my opinion. /fred Edited December 30, 2005 at 09:11 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.

LVCeline Posted December 30, 2005 at 10:28 PM Posted December 30, 2005 at 10:28 PM by chance, does "thevoice" go by queenceline on another forum? His comments are sounding quite similar. I think the performance of Le Blues starts out very excellent, but really falls apart when she has to belt a lot towards the end. Her voice almost gave out, and she struggled to get to the end, but she looked SO FREAKING BEAUTIFUL! Quote
mangust Posted December 30, 2005 at 11:09 PM Posted December 30, 2005 at 11:09 PM The rendition has nothing now...but Celine. I was looking at her and coudn't stop repeating words in awe:"She's a real fighter! What a woman!". My eyes were getting wet. But not because of the voice or not ideal singing. This song is HERS. The one that always for me will be stick to her, to something powerful and strong. Very often when she sings LBDB there's something happening in her life. Like some importants points in it. I look at her and remember the past. But I'm not in regret about it, about ideal notes or perfection. Strangely. I think sometimes imperfection adds to the yet presious thing even more value. And those eyes!!! Man! That look in her eyes is priceless. P.S. And yes, she was beautiful there at every point and sense of the word. I just loved her performance, maybe her voice wasn't all there "technically" but her emotion was, and I think that's what really counts! I could watch this performance over and over, and I still say it's a great performance!!! Her emotion makes up for what her voice lacked, and to be quite honest, I actually liked tha raspiness and the strength she put into singing....and at least it wasn't playback!!!!!!!!!!! KaasDion Posted December 31, 2005 at 03:39 AM Posted December 31, 2005 at 03:39 AM Wow love her outfit. This has never been one of my favorite songs, but I really like the way she sang the words so clearly. I must admit I'm worried about her legs in those boots, the shape makes her legs look so thin, shouldn't she be more muscular with Vegas and all Quote

Mozinha Posted December 31, 2005 at 09:29 AM Posted December 31, 2005 at 09:29 AM Finally I got to listen to something. I'm at work right now. Celine improvising the gipsy music was quite fantastic. She really gets into the spirit!!!!! I wish she would do this more often! Celine and the other lady singing I surrender... how annoying is that girl's voice? I was thinking all the time "Shut up, you're ruinning it. This is CELINE'S SONG!" I'm waiting for the video of the LBDB to finish the download but so far I have no complain whatsoever about Celine's performance. Mozinha Posted December 31, 2005 at 10:12 AM Posted December 31, 2005 at 10:12 AM I was mad at the nasty comments before but now after listening to it HOW DARE YOU? This lady travelled from Vegas, was on a 9 hour jetlag, probably very tired and just stepped on that stage and perfome that WONDERFUL! She took my breath away completely! She looked wonderful, powerful and pretty much sure of herself. She gave life to that song! I agree it was not flawless and not 100% perfect on the technic but WHO CARES? That was amazing!!!!!! It sounded AMAZING! Her emotion is priceless. She feels that businessman inside of her. I could actually believe in every single word she was singing! Celine, we love you... you are THE BEST!!!!! ps- sorry I could not edit my answer anymore so if you want to merge the 2 posts for me...
