celine looks like she is not happy the entire evening...u could tell she is not happy about her performance...i'm so sorry the night she chose to perform this amazing song her voice was on such a poor condition

 

celine really felt bad about it that's why she mentioned it in the interview...i hope she'll give us soon a real performance of this song .

I think she enjoys meeting musicians and be able to share her passion! It was cool to see that!

They were very good performances... LBDBM very strong ans powerful. A very good performance when we know she was tired and so on...

Some months ago, she couldn't hit these high notes.... even if there wasn't time difference! lol.

 

A funny moment was when she sang Isurrender with Amel Bent... she was very cool and it was eaSy for her to reach the high notes... and Amel in front of her was almost dying to hit the notes. We can see the difference between Céline and all the other singers: she's the best even if she isn't in a good shape.

I can't believe some of the remarks here. 

 

LBDB is my favorite song, and I thought she performed very well. If you didn't like the performance, then maybe the song isn't for you. Berger's and Plamondon's songs are an acquired taste, they're not for everyone to enjoy.

yeah sometimes we forget that Celine can still sing live! she is the only on from the 90's divas to be able to do it! sometimes she can sound more powerful sometimes not! who cares?but there's a big difference between a less powerful performance and a worst one!!!!!!i personally like when she doesnt sing a song always at the same way i like her to make some "tricks" with her voice she gives me so many emotions!she is true she feels the song i dont want her to hit the highest note in the world and then sounding like a robot!

Exactly what she was doing most of the time in the 90's : powerful and perfect but meaningless and soulLess performances. Today it's sometimes not so perfect as before but there are more spontaneity and emotion and maybe she has more pleasure when she sings.

I like what she said in her latest interview (A&E Bio) that she don't sing technically as good today but she surely sing much better now. And I agrre with her totally. I don't want a robot no way, and plus I understand she was very tired for her schedule in Paris, recording many shows.

And I love watch her handle the situacion and compensate in others ways.

Just heard the mp3 version of LBDB. Celine's voice was slightly shaky but a great performance on the whole. Remember that this is a very difficult song to sing and i think celine coped well with the song.

I've listened to every performance of LBDB that I know of, and I have to tell this one is different from the others. Usually she sings this song with sorrow... this time she sang it in a very upbeat, self-confident way.

 

She was impressive. And I think this song for Céline is what "My Way" was for Frank Sinatra.

I saw the video of LBDBM, and she was fantastic her voice was fantastic. I can't believe to those stupid comments, stop it!!!!! .

It was, for me one of the best performance of LBDBM

Who said it was a dissappointment? Only one person here doesn't like it at all.

 

I think it was VERY VERY different from what we all have expected and to be honest Céline managed to shock me once again. She performed the song differently, indeed more upbeat where there was ABSOLUTELY no place whatsoever for big money notes. Her performance was like 4:30 or less so she could not afford to go for big notes but that's not the point...

 

I am inclined to forgive her vocal inconsistency on this one cuzz of one thing. Her voice never sounded cleraer on big belts than it did now. I was just amazed by her vocal clarity and pureness of these belts. She hit them with ease, just like breathing, she wasn't gasping or forcing herself to sing it but breathed life into the notes without visual singns of struggeling. Her voice didn't crack at all during the performance. She sounded 2 times extremely uncomfortable singing some verses and she did not hit some minor notes but I can't get over how well the belts were sung. They were divine. That part of her performance is the most rewarding one.

 

As for comparisons... you can very well rank this performance of Le Blues among the rest of them. It isn't certainly the best vocal performance - I still prefer the 1991 gala live one - but she showed that she can adapt to new things. The orchestra wasn't neeeded, tho and without the forkers she surely wouldn't have to rush throughout the whole song so much and show off more of these pure belts.

 

And she looked like a f****** Goddess.

alright guys - the worst performance of celine in years...i'm really sorry she performed that song knowing that her voice is not on top shape...

she was off tune more than once , could NOT hit the notes right...could NOT hold it strong...her voice was so rasspy and not clear...like as if she smoked something before - u could see on her face that she is really nervous and doesnt like the outcome .

now i believe her - she said her vocals were not there that night and it's obvious .

I haven't hear or seen this performance, but I am very glad it was live. If her voice wasn't on top that day I don't care the main thing is she sang live. I actually like it when her voice is raspy, I really do...

 

I hope I can see this performance soon.

I love it. So much emotion and charisma. The best performance of that song since 1994 in my opinion and she didn't do those exagerated "look, I'm an airplane" gestures ( ) like at the Juno 1999. And the new live orchestration also adds something more to it.

Technically, it wasn't perfect. But despite this, I don't know many singers who could have hit the notes she hit so powerfully yesterday. And her way of behaving on the scene is so great.

It was still a good performance.

 

Anyway, Celine talked about that performance in many interviews in France (in a magazine and on TV shows) : she said she had some vocal problems. She said that sometimes you really want to sing, but your vocal chords wouldn't let you make it the way you wanted.

 

She was so cheered by the audience after. It's incredible because there weren't many Celine fans there. The production of the show told the fans she wouldn't be there, that's why we didn't know what to expect concerning the performances.

 

And with Amel it was so funny. Celine was so relax. She was leaning on her elbow on the table, and hit some notes quite easily. It's impressive since we know her vocal form that day.
