Thank yOu so much to everyone for the encouragments. I just got back (I know, it's late) but I have to say that it was great. The movie was good, the supper was amazing, the whole family is great. We mostly got the chance to sort out many things... Anyway, it was great!

I very rarely visit the forum these days, and if I do, I don't post. One of the reasons is (and I'm not afraid to admit it) that I'm starting to lose interest in Celine. There is absolutely nothing going on in her career and it doesn't seem like they know what they are doing with her album. The other reason being the immaturity of some of the members here, and the lack of objective posts. So this morning I decided to log on and read some of the topics to catch up and see if there is anything going on. The first topic I go into is the one about Christina Aguilera singing ''The Prayer''. What do I see? emoticons and how some people think she'll ''butcher'' the song. In the new album topic, people are arguing about whether or not Celine can sing opera. With the exception of some rumours about new writers/producers, there is still no concrete information from Celine or her team about what is going on with the new albums. I'm sorry to see u feel that way. But what i don't get, is that 'hardcore' fans start to loose intrest in Céline just because there isn't much going on right now or at least there is no news about it. WTF!? Céline has a career of over 30 years! So many albums and songs, so much material on youtube that fans probably never saw! How can you say you loose intrest in her? In the 16 years that I have been a fan, my intrest in her has never been less. The last few years we were spoiled with the TCWT and all the new stuff posted almost every day. Back in 1996 we had none of that. I hardly got any news on Céline. I only knew SISDA was out, when I saw it in the store! In this day and age people expect too much IMO. They want something new every day. But sorry that won't happen. Sure I'd like to know what's going on with the album(s) and how she's doing, but if that aint shared, too bad! And if people on the forum biatch about her or other singers, that's their problem. I don't take offense on that. Sure the forum isn't what it used to be. But what in life ever stays the same?

 

I love Céline and I will always support her no matter what! There are tons of things to discuss and discover. Why do 3 months of radio silence count more than a legacy left over 30 years!?

Davey, I understand where you are coming from and I totally get why you wonder how some of us can lose interest in her. To tell you the truth, I don't understand it myself. Lately I just don't feel the same way about her. I don't know how to explain it, I just don't get the same feeling on the inside I used to. My only explanation is that I'm bored with her old stuff, and the lack of new material is not helping. I took a break for almost a month from everything Celine, and thought that maybe that will help, but unfortunately I still feel the same way. I'm hoping that when we actually do get her new albums, that it will rekindle the love I used to have for her. Celine will always have a special place in my heart, and of course there is no denying the fact that she is one of the best singers out there. People just reach a point in life where they realize it is time to move on to bigger things. Of course, I will still follow the news here on the forum, but I'm just not spending that much time on here and on Celine things like I used to.

 

As for the forum, maybe once it has been upgraded things will get better again. Sometimes all something need is a makeover.

Claudette I'm sorry to hear you feel that way about our Celine. I do agree with Davey on a lot of his points though. Nothing in life ever stays the same - no matter how much we want it to. As for Christina "butchering" The Prayer, that's so far from true it's not even funny. Christina is an AMAZING vocalist. Even Celine herself said that Christina is the best singer in the world (I, however have to respectfully disagree because she cannot count herself!) Pointless arguments about stupid crap is going to get us nowhere. As for the new albums, I also wish they would hurry the hell up - but that's all we can do - hope. There's no guarantee that we will get a new album, English or French, from Celine this year. That's one of the reasons why I absolutely HATE her management/promo team. They suck. Badly. They're not on top of things like they were back in the 90's during the FIY and LTAL eras. Kinda stupid, if you ask me. And they cannot promise anything. The reason the forum is so quiet nowadays is because Celine is still on vocal rest. She doesn't start shows back up in Vegas until June. That's okay though, I'm sure when she starts back up we'll start hearing about all these new changes to the show, etc. So yeah, it'll pick back up here soon before you know it.

Claudette, I can understand how you feel. I've started feeling a different way about Céline lately, mainly because of this forum. I don't know if I would go so far as to say I'm losing interest, but I'm not as enthusiastic as I once was. It's hard for me because I have been a fan for such a short time. Maybe I just need to take a break from the forum for a while, like you did.

It's ok if you're loosing interest, I think that happens sometimes... It's the same I guess in a relationship, be it with friends or lovers. There are moments when the love is stronger than in others You'll get that love back soon... It has happend to me too, when I've discovered someone else, but then I always come back to Celine You should take a break of the forum if you feel like it Katie, so when you feel the need to visit us you'll be excited again

 

Today is my Dad's Birthday !!! to him !!! And tomorrow is my brother's !!! My mom had to make 2 cakes in 1 day... Poor her, she does everything for us, I love her sooooo much !!! Even thou we have our arguments and differences, I love them both much more than they'll ever now
