The iphone 4S was announced yesterday afternoon. I'm also still surprised that people think the release of the 4S was so shocking/disappointing. Looking back, they did the same thing with the iPhone 3. Apple never officially said that they are releasing an iPhone 5, they wouldn't completely change the phone this quickly.
