Bralo20 Posted October 5, 2011 at 07:36 AM Posted October 5, 2011 at 07:36 AM Yeah I have been following the case as well. To use evidence, that has been tempered with by the investigators. I am also glad that the jurors in this case repeal all Charges of the Murder. Is fantastic, know Amanda Knox can go home, rest destress, catch up with family, have a home cook meal. I also feel bad for the murder victimes family as well. Not knowing, who brutally killed your daughter must be frustrating, heartbreaking, and extremely angry, that there is no justice for there daughter. Well, the evidence wasn't tempered with... There's a huge difference between tempered evidence and wrongly handeled evidence. The evidence whas wrongfull handeled by the authorities. It wasn't tempered with (tempering is doing it with purpose, what wasn't the case here). We can say that the Italians made big mistakes (even though they won't like to hear it and will deny it for ages even when proven otherwise but we cannot say that the Italian justice system tempered with the evidence, that would make them guilty of a crime itself, which they obviously didn't. What the reasons were for the Italian investigators we probably never know, were they unfamiliar with investigating a big crime? Where they not briefed enough on the international standards of crime scene investigation? Where they pressured to act fact and thus "cutting corners"? We'll never know for sure. I guess it was because they weren't to familiar with such crimes scenes and the fact that they were pressured since it was an high profile case from the start on. I'm confident that they won't make the same mistakes again during new crime scenes. A couple of days ago I've read the report made by the defence where everything was tested again. It's available online in original Italian version and translated into English, if you understand a bit of Italian then the original one is the one you'll need to read, if not the English one will do but there are some (small) translation errors in it. It's quite technical but neveral very interesting to read (if you have basic knowledge of forensics and the testing). However, all the tests were done over again by a third party in a university under supervision of the prosecutors office and consultants for the defence. Based on that report, that was confirmed by the prosecutors office, there is no chance that she'll ever could got convicted in the first place. Basics are simple, if DNA is presence and it's from primary transfer then it will be presence in sufficient amounts. It's actually quite simple... Like when I pick up a pen and hold it to write with it, when I lay it down and you'll test it on DNA you'll find plenty of DNA, even after that test you can store it in a controlled enviroment for years and still my DNA would be present on the pen. However, if it's a new pen and I just had it slipped out of a box and it's lying there then no DNA would be present, however if you bag the pen during collection of evidence and put it in a bag with a ruler that's also lying on my desk then you'll get also DNA from the ruler on the pen. And that's what is called "seconday transfer". Now when you test that particular pen in the first time you'll find some DNA in very low amounts, barely enough for a test and rarely enough for a decent confirmation. Now if you test the pen a while later, let's say about a year and a half later like done here in the case, then you won't find sufficient DNA present since it will have degraded during time due the fact that insufficient amounts where available from the start. And this is what clearly happened. The evidence found during the first tests were very limited and thus can (and probably will) be from secondary transfer. And then there's the fact that no blood was found on the knife... If the knife in particular was realy used in the crime then blood would be found even after cleaning, blood (and other fluids) will even go where you don't expect it to go. Months ago I cut myself pretty badly during cooking, when that happend I'd just cleaned the knife thoroughly, had an bandage and everything was fine (except from the scar on my finger). Now a couple of weeks the blade came loose of the handle and I was surprised to find a little bid of blood inside the handle, clearly from when I cut myself a couple of months ago. Just to say: you can easily clean an object and "think" it's clean but it's very likely that it's not... And yet they didn't find *any* blood on the knife, supposedly used to kill Meredith... Now, DNA evidence isn't everything in a case but it's quite important these days... Back in the old days an investigator relied on hairs, prints, fibers, etc... old school investigation but even that was lacking in this case... There was simply no hard evidence that they did the crime they were charged with. Now, these days even hard evidence is less and less necessary, it's these days even possible to convict someone without any evidence at all thanks to so called profiling. Months ago we had someone convicted in Belgium for murder without a single piece of evidence... However, there was a profile that matched the suspect, there was plenty of motive, etc... There wasn't just any single piece of hard evidence... Not even circumstancial evidence... Yet, it was enough for a conviction due the profiling and the motive for the crime. So it is indeed possible to convict someone without hard evidence based on (psychological) profiling and motive. But in the Knox/Sollieto case there wasn't *any* motive for the crime and afaik there wasn't a profile that matched either... So in the end... It was the right thing that happened on monday... More importantly also is that the court stated (and I'm not sure it was made very clear in the news) that they acquitted them because they are certain that they didn't commit the crimes they were charged with... They didn't just acquitte them because the badly handled evidence, no they acquitted them also because they (=8 judges) are certain they didn't commit the crime and where wrongfully accused to start with. I'm actually very curious if they will go in higher appeal after all. I believe that Mignini, the prosecutor has stated that he wants an higher appeal but I'm not sure his bosses will like that and will give the go ahead to it... Now regarding the Kercher family... They are unfortunately the biggest "losers" in this case... They "knew" (or at least they thought they knew) who killed their daughter and while this didn't bring her back it certainly gave them a bit comfort that the persons responsible where convicted and serving their sentense. Now that is gone... Yes, there is still Guede that is convicted (with loads of hard evidence linking him) but the prosecution always stated that he did not commit the murder alone (wetter it's true or not, that was the strategy of the prosecution) and so they still believe the killers are at large. That must be horrible for them and unbearable to carry with them... Unless the real killers will be found (that is if there were indeed multiple persons involved, which I honestly doubt) they will always have questions. They lost a child and losing a child is one of the hardest things one can imagine... But I think they'll need to be angry at the Italian justice system and not angry at people that were acquitted from crimes the court believes they didn't commit. The Knox and Sollieto families did loose also a beloved one for 4 long years... 4 years that those families also lived in fear that their daughter and son would serve years in prison for a crime they didn't commit... The biggest advantage that Amanda Knox had was a wealthy family that didn't see on a Dollar more or less to get their daughter freed... Some can ask question by everything (especially the ethics) like why had to be the focus on Amanda all the time, why was there such big media attention to her and her case, etc... Well, it all can be concluded to one small event... At the early beginning of the investigation the Italians (justice and media) focused on Amanda as a cruel sex craving, alcohol and drug abusing b*tch with a nice face... It was a huge mistake that was made and that possibly ruined the image and the life of the girl and played a big part in the role of her conviction... Wat we'll probably don't remember anymore in a couple of years is the power of the media... The media played a huge role in the whole events... Bad and good... Actually, it did make and break the case in a way... Thanks due the tremendous amount of media attention the Italian court had to work thoroughly during the appeal, they couldn't affort mistakes anymore since there were camera's everywhere, everytime... I'm not convinced that the results would be the same without the media attention... Which is actually sad since everyone, with or without money, with or without media attention should be able to get the fairest trial possible... At least that is what we, citizens, believe in... And that was initially maybe also the biggest mistake that Amanda and Raffaele made... The believed in the justice system, they believed that they, being innocent, had nothing to hide, had nothing to loose and that they would be cleared of everything in no time... They even didn't laywer up in the beginning because they trusted the system... A big mistake as learned later when they were convicted of a crime they didn't commit... Oh well, I think I've written enough about it. But to close my rather long and boring reply I want to add one single, yet important, thing... If one is ever suspected of a crime they didn't commit: NEVER EVER trust the justice system if you are abroad travelling, no matter which country you are in... Even for the smallest crime, ALWAYS ask for a laywer... And every justice system is different, don't expect the same outcome as in your country since it can and probably will be different... ...

reamary Posted October 5, 2011 at 01:13 PM Posted October 5, 2011 at 01:13 PM I feel horible, dirty, and ungodly right know. What has happened? I've had a really bizarre week this week. I've been so fed up with all the world's "badness" that I just.. I don't know, I would just wanna go and hide somewhere, to get away from it all! I'm just SO FED UP with it all. Meaning that why can't people be tolerant and why is it so hard to accept difference in the world and live peacefully together "side by side", and why is there so much hate and just pure cruelty which doesn't make any SENSE!! I'm so unbelievably fed up with the racism/race talk in the media lately and people thinking that one is better than the other AND I'm fed up with the discrimination of ANY kind of minority group and.. ugh! I just can't take it anymore!! Usually I think that the world is a beautiful place for the most part, and that people are good (again for the most part), but for the past few days I've been feeling like I don't know what to believe anymore. I hope this doesn't mean I'm becoming cynical, cause I still don't wanna. http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o419/reamary/1338b390-8604-432c-8a00-e8e1052a92ba.jpgHELSINKI 9.6.2008 - PARIS 26.11.2013 - PARIS 28.6.2016 - STOCKHOLM 17.6.2017 !

But I still think iOS is better than Android. What did you expect? They are always behind. Also copied Android's notification system and voice controls in iOS 5.I expect them change the body and screen at least, not use the same body, just a better CPU and camera. That's lazy. But I still think iOS is better than Android.I agree, iOS is just a completely different level of performance than Andriod...but that's my opinion. (and Bellamy's as well )I also think most of the Andriod phones "feel" cheap. I like the feel of the iPhone and it's just much prettier. Anniina Posted October 5, 2011 at 05:44 PM Posted October 5, 2011 at 05:44 PM I've had an awesome day! I started my French lessons!!! The best part is that there's a French man called Laurent who I'm madly in love with. We were looking at each other the whole 75 minutes and I was getting preettttyyy hot Then, I had to sit with this boy who's two years older than me. We talked and talked and when I came home, he had sent me a friend request on FB. How - on - earth did he know my last name? And now we're chatting. He said that "I insist you to sit with me all the French classes. I just can't stand those little giggling 16-year old girls..." so then I said I'm 16. He couldn't believe it and was ashamed but I still have to sit with him. AAAAAnndd turned out that he's the drummer of this band that is freaking famous in here. Plus, I love my best friend.I now know the numbers from 0-10 in French!!I almost failed physics but I'm excited, this has never happened before! I must be crazy.
