I'm so confused right now, does anyone else lose their appetite when they're deppressed?

Don't know if it's caused by the depression itself, but loss of apetite is definitely a sideeffect of antidepressants.. It comes and goes, some months are alright then then there are a couple of weeks when you can barely drink anything... At least that's how it's been for me the past 2½ years, but I'm sure that everyone doesn't react the same (and I guess it depends on the type of medication)

All the french songs released after "s'il suffisait d'aimer" sucks...

D'elles is absolutely not a great album and her french fans agree with that! I'm very surprised that her non-french fans think this album is a jewel like "D'eux" or "S'il suffisait d'aimer". D'elles could have been better but it sounds more like a demo album! As for Sous le vent, I don't like her french duets! Watching Sur les plaines is a torture for me... To me, "s'il suffisait d'aimer" is maybe her last amazing work in her french carrier no man is a hero to his valet...

I just wanted to say that as I am french and I understand the lyrics I'm more critical toward her french songs! (I must learn some other new words instead of repeating "sucks" all the time :rolleyes: )

That's subjective. Like Frida said, there are songs which are good. Neither all the french songs released after SISDA sucks nor everything released before are jewels. I doubt that it's only her "non-french" fans who regard D'elles highly, which you can read in the "D'elles album discussions" thread in the Discussions page. You were not even part of the forum back then when it was released which is why you didn't know the anticipation and the reception of the album. I'm not trying to defend the album because it is favourite album from hers but for the fact that a lot of people loved it when it was released. As to why it wasn't as successful as her previous francophone albums, almost everyone knows it, too. One word answer: promotion. Wrong single choices after ESNRQ (which was a #1 for your information) and Celine's performances of "Alone" instead of songs from "D'elles" made it a resounding failure. But selling almost a million copies with a disaster of a promotion, I wouldn't say it did half bad.

About SLV and her french duets, it's once again one's personal opinion. I, myself, don't like all of her duets, be it in english or french, but there are certain songs and performances, which are just beyond doubt, phenomenal. For example, her duet with JJG "La Bas", with Charles Aznavour "Toi et Moi" etc.

I know we're gonna have differences regarding her music, but you should know I have no personal grudge against you :thumbsup2:

Even I totally agree with what Titom wrote (I didn't read further down as it'll take a lot of time). I never said the album is perfect, but there are certain songs in it, which are just, too "intimate" for lack of a better word. Quoting Titom,

I have the same feeling about the album, which makes me like it even more. Certain songs are definitely skipped, but I do that with every single Celine album. Certain tracks don't hold a lingering moment in my heart. But isn't that the case with everything in life, being selective and possessive for the things and people we hold close? :flowers:

Just because it is lacking of what it could have been, doesn't mean you have to not like it, AB.

Oh, IMO things would start looking a little better if Celine would control a little bit of her professional life, especially when it comes to songs selection. She is definitely involved in selecting them, but what I am trying to say is she should be more assertive like how she is in her personal life. She doesn't have to give it everyday of her life, maybe only during the week when she is recording them, or now, which is the best time when she is just lounging around :lol: She can even sing to her babies

Anyways, this is wholly going into the same old topic of what could have been if she was more involved and not depended blindly on her team, so I'll end it here :mdr:

ALone!!! :doh: :evil: :fyou: seriously!! who comes up with that!?

to make a long story short, you think her English carreer is a mess?? her french carreer didn't have a logical thought since D'eux was released! :glare:

D'elles wasn't an album worthy of being compared to D'eux vocally speaking. Her voice was sub par and tired on some, very nasal on others and her enunciation was just horrible. Having said that, the album had some jewels, most notably the two A causes
