Alright, I'm a student at Duke and absolutely LOVE Celine. Problem is, none of my friends seem to (typical of kids my age isn't it?)

Anyone going to the Raleigh concert on January 20th, 2009?

:wacko: Aahh.... HERE it is... finally found the Raleigh, NC thread! Yep, I'm going with another Céline fan from WV. We'll be in row 10.

This show has no "sound check" tickets, which I would have been willing to shell out for. ggrrr :angry2:

And to answer your other question... my hubby went to Wake Forest so... I'm not "allowed" to like Duke. :giggle:

Hey guys! My mom, my aunt, and I are going to be attending the Jan. 20th show in Raleigh, NC and we bought section 5 row 1 seats 6,7, & 8! I was just wondering if anybody else has ever sat in those smaller side sections and what it was like! I'm nervous because a lot of people said the catwalk seats were better. Of course, any seat in the house is amazing because um, it's CELINE DION. But has anybody else been in one of those side floor sections?! Also, is anybody else going to be at this show?! IM SO EXCITED!

Hi Katelyn! :bye1: Welcome to the forum!

I didn't sit in those exact seats, but I sat in the front row, so that section was right in front of me. Those are great seats!! You'll have to look up sometimes, because the stage is high... and when she's on the catwalk on your side, you may have to turn around in your seat (unless you are standing up and dancing as everyone there should be! ). You'll be very close to Céline! You're actually sitting on the same corner as I did, as well. She entered and exited on that side when I saw her, maybe she will in Raleigh as well! Yes definitely I am so excited! My friends are starting to get annoyed with me because I say at least once a day to them, "Jan. 20th!!!" and they're like we knowwwwwwww.

Also, does anybody know what hotel she will be staying at? I looked up on expedia, haha I felt so stalkerish, but what can I say, I'm a huge fan! I saw a five star hotel called

The Umstead Hotel and Spa, and it's only like 5 miles away from the venue, and it is also booked for the night of Jan. 20th! So does anybody else think that is it, or has anybody ever seen Celine at her hotel in Raleigh?! :shrug:

IM GOING!!!! i had originally bought two tickets for me and my best friend but we arent close anymore (i bought them in 2007) so i was going to make my fiance go with me! BUT I was looking on ticketexchange and I really want to sell my two and buy a floor tickets (mine are in sec. 114 i think) I WANT FLOOR SEATS SO BAD! Im so jealous of ya'll!!! I know I'll have fun either way but I'd love to be on the floor! This is going to be a 4 hour drive for me.. ugh!

They quoted me at 4.5 hours - which is fine considering I drive 4.5 hours to NJ to visit my family. I'm used to that.

Maybe some of us could meet up halfway and drive down together? Just a thought

Yeah Steve...if you live in DC, its only about a 4-4.5 hour drive. I have driven to DC many many times.

We've got to have a bunch of fans there to really pump things up! Like most places, she hasn't been to NC since Sept. 1998 and it seems like its been forever since I saw her back on Dec.15, 2007!

For the guy referring to the hotel, I guess its a wait and see thing, but it really doesnt seem as though she's staying at hotels lately. Most likely if her place in Florida is ready, she'll be basing herself there and flying in and out.

you should definitely still go! haha i'm driving about 8 1/2 hours to go to the atlanta concert, but it'll be so worth it! COME!!! :clap:

=) I looked on ticket exchange! and we can buy this set of tickets i found.. they are floor seats.. Section FLR8 row: 3 seats: 11 - 12 AND ONLY US $248.10 each.. LETS DO IT GIRL!!! =) I mean, if we can find better seats then heck yeah.. but whatch a think?!?!?!?!? =) :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Yeah what she seems to be doing is staying in a base, like currently Las Vegas for at least some of her current west coast dates, Montreal for a lot of her Northeast area dates and Florida for some Southern dates. In NY she stayed in a hotel but she was playing many dates in NYC, Long Island, Atlantic city and NJ so she could be based downtown. She also stays in some hotels. It's actually a smart way of doing things IMHO although I know fans would probably rather have her be in more hotels for sightings/autographs. ^_^
