I love love LOOOOOOOVE "Skies of L.A." it's so calming..can't really find right words to describe it.

The song flies..it's so smooth. It's a song that makes you close your eyes and dream.

I only heard EOM, SS and SOL. EOM must be a single. It is so modern and fresh yet not copycat. SS is one to just close your eyes and feel happy to. SOL has a brilliant edge to it- a different atmosphere. So excited

I only heard three songs before the site gave up on me but Shadow Of Love was amazing and it's the highlight of my short listen. The kind of song you just click with instantly. Love the bridge, fantastic feel to it. I think a lot of non-fans will get into this song, it's easy to sing along too and really catchy. I really want to play it to random people and see what they think!

Shadow Of Love I am willing to surrender and could very well see this as a single, wonderful production, ther sound through the versers is superb and very haunting.

 

Skies Of L.A. Superb sound all the way through. Kind of hoped that it would kick off and have a turn. But it stays nice and slow, and the production is first class. This should do very well as a ghost track. That's the feeling I get listening to it. Souly feeling. The lyrics must have a deeper meaning I just aint sure what after listening once.

 

Right Next To The Right One My fears about Céline's vocals being too Miracleish were soon settled. This song is superbly approached, and she has claimed it her own, and I get full of reverence for it when I hear it. It brings back memories and makes me thinks of a special someone. And this track in it's calm and mature posture gets me all sentimental in a way I thought I was long ago immune to after years and years of Céline listening. A class of it's own. Sadly its sound is a bit inapropriate on this album, but that doesn't make the track a bad track. Would do well as single B-side aswell.

I just listened to ONLY "New Dawn"! I am AMAZED! Wow. I was actually not looking forward to that one, but I love it!

EOM is rockin...the only other song I have listened to is A World To Believe In. I know a lot of people werent excited about it, but it actually made me tear up a bit lol...that'd be my new pick for a wedding song.

Well, mine was a little big, but here it goes:

 

Taking chances - Not much to say because everyone knows it already. Made me get even more addicted to Céline than I already was.

 

Alone - The lyrics are beautiful and the way Céline puts her voice on the song is just amazing!! I don't really love the song, but she really did a great job here.

 

Eyes on me - The most different in my opinion. It makes me wanna dance and I have always the impression it's a kind of seduction song (Maybe because the beats remind me of belly dance). The lyrics are really nice. Can't get it out of my head!

 

My love - Beautiful song. Makes me want to listen to it many times!

 

Shadow of love - My song! Lyrics perfectly fit me! Just love it! It'd be a great hit if it were a single.

 

Surprise surprise - Song that can't get out of my head. Nice lyrics and I think it describes every human being, regarding the fact that noone really knows you completely, only yourself, and sometimes you're afraid of letting people getting too close and find out you're not exactly the perfect dream. I like it.

 

This time - Strong song. The sound reminded me of Evanescence (maybe because it was produced by Moody). Not a possible single because for me it's not a radio friend, but still full of feelings. Like it!

 

New Dawn - In the beginning I thought it was a yoga song. But then it became so clear as if it was a real prayer. I could listen to this song for hours and just reflect about my life. And then TeamCeline didn't let me listen to the rest.

 

A song for you - The beginning with this piano is just lovely. It reminds me of a sad movie or something. And then Céline's voice enter and it fits the lyrics perfectly. Pity I'm not in love at the moment because this could for sure be a "couple song". Just beautiful!

 

A world to believe in - A song that gives you faith and makes you go on. That's my favorite up to now. Lyrics are really deep. Makes you think that whatever happens there will always be someone there to help you get through. Love it!

 

Can't fight this feeling - It could play on the radios around here. That's the kind of rock that would make people listen! And the lyrics are so nice! It's a fun song! For sure I'll play it over and over when I've got the cd in my hands.

 

I ain't got nothing left - Teenager song, in my opinion. It's like the first part of the song doesn't fit the second. Her voice is too different. If Britney Spears recorded it I'm sure it'd work cause it's perfect for her, but not for Céline. Didn't like it. (And I feel really bad for saying that)

 

Right next to the right one - A song to listen in a bar with friends. A calm song which makes you feel happy. Like it very much. I'll for sure listen to this song more than once.

 

Fade away - Like it since the beginning! It'd sound good as a single. I can even visualize a videoclip and all my students asking me what fade away means and asking me to play this song in class. OMG I think I dream too much! But I really love the song. One of my favorites too.

 

That's just the woman in me - Not my favorite. It sounds a little old-fashioned in my opinion. Her voice is great here though. Different of what we're used to listening.

 

Skies of L.A - Wonderful!! Piano songs are definately the ones I love! This piano in the background is just amazing!! Some parts of the lyrics are just me, like if they were meant to describe me.

Okay, I've finally finished listening to all the songs on Team Celine. Here is my review, song by song:

 

Taking Chances:

I've already heard it 5 billion times but I still think it's a good song. Not bad for the first single, and it will get way more attention once she does the talk show rounds. Not a huge stretch for her though. It's very pop. I see it as a song similar in feel to TTWII.

 

Alone:

I love this song and her version is really good. The music box reminds me of Phantom (the movie.) Kind of haunting. No one can beat the original, not even Celine, but she definitely sings it very well. It would be stupid to release it as a single. Covers of well known songs are rarely hits.

 

Eyes on Me:

I loved this song when I first heard it a while back. Totally different for her. I think Shakira whenever I hear it. I wouldn't like to see this as the next single, as I prefer the songs where her voice belts. It's catchy though. Great beat and I think if this is remixed it would be great in clubs.

 

My Love:

I LOVE this song. Her voice is incredible on it. Lots of emotion and when she goes for it in the end I get a warm feeling inside.

 

Shadow of Love:

Very current and fresh. The song melds perfect from beginning to end. This could do well as a single. So far this album is so unique. She's a chameleon.

 

Surprise Surprise:

Not bad. Not a standout but it sounds good. I'm sure more listening will make me enjoy this song more.

 

This Time:

This song has a strong message. I don't think she's done anything like this before. It's growing on me. But I really don't think this would make a good single. Songs like this usually work better in a country format. Think Martina McBride. You never know, though.

 

New Dawn:

I love this song. Her voice is in top form. She sounds so soulful, it brings to mind Annie Lennox. The low parts in the beginning are chill inducing. And the guitar makes it more earthy. Great production.

 

A Song For You:

Such a pretty song. Nothing overly spectacular, sorta reminds me of Nature Boy. The piano is very haunting, I can imagine this song in a movie.

 

A World To Believe In:

It's okay. Sounds like something she has done before. So, nothing special but it works.

 

Can't Fight This Feeling:

This one is great. Talk about rock. Very current. She can really do anything with that voice of hers. People will be surprised to hear her sounding like this.

 

I've Got Nothing Left:

I actually really like this song. She sounds so young. It sounds like Celine but a very meek version. The way she sings suits it.

 

Right Next To The Right One:

Not a huge fan. It's a little to folksy for me. And kind of boring.

 

Fade Away:

I really like this song. Again, a rock vibe. It must be so refreshing for her to sing these songs. There is no question that Celine has taken chances and succeeded.

 

That's Just The Woman In Me:

THE BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM. This should be released as the next single. It is above and beyond everything else. Her voice is unbelievable. She has never, ever sounded like this before. You can feel all the emotion and passion and it is soooo catchy. I can't wait to see the reviews for this song. No one can deny that it's masterpiece. Give this a chance as the next single. PLEASE!!!!

 

Skies of L.A:

Probably my least favourite. It doesn't really go anywhere. It's really boring.

 

 

So, that's my review. Overall it's a great album. Her best since Falling Into You. Hopefully people will get over the Celine Dion lampooned everywhere and give her a chance. There is no one in the business who can sing like her. I can't wait until I can get this on my IPOD.

Taking chances - Got hooked on the song by Platinum Weird when I found out Céline was recording it! Céline's version brings it to a whole new level!

 

Alone - For those of us who remember Heart's version know this was not a good choice. Céline does it justice, but still doesn't match the Wilson sisters version. Hope to GOD that this is NOT a single!!

 

Eyes on me - I thought I was really going to like this song... but it is much different than I had anticipated. Seems too repetitive.

 

My love - Nice piano - reminds me of Elton John & Bernie Taupin music

 

Shadow of love - I liked this song BUT it sounds too much like 80's Pop Music - OUT DATED!

 

Surprise surprise - Kara produced this song to PERFECTION! Love the lyrics - LOVE the vocal - one of the BEST songs on the album!!

 

This time - Still think this MUST be the next single! From the beginning to the end - this song is POWERFUL!!

 

New Dawn - Gospel Spiritual Blues song ('nuf said)

 

A song for you - Dark depressing emotional - You can hear the pain in the violin, the piano, the horns, Céline's voice - BEAUTIFUL!!

 

A world to believe in - This song sounds like a winding country road song - better if performed by a country artist.

 

Can't fight this feeling - When I heard the clips... I thought this song was gonna be the rock anthem of the album. But after hearing the full song - it is schizophrenic! Three songs in one - never converging to a coherent blend!

 

I got nothing left - You sucked the life out of me - so it's OVER!! Nice break-up song.

 

Right next to the right one - Folk song - very 70's - ANOTHER song that is OUT DATED.

 

Fade away - Now this is the song that ROCKS! Kelly Clarkson style! Hope it is the 3rd single!!

 

That's just the woman in me - RAW - ROUGH - RAUNCHY! Céline is possessed by Janis Joplin for this number and it is the SHIZNIT!! Too out dated for the radio, though! Great song for us "OLD FARTS"!

Terrific Job, Celine. TERRIFIC. I never had any kind of expectition about this album. Actually I chose to stay away from the spectulation, the rumours, and the whole thread about it. I thought this album would suck when people started mentioning the hip hop producers. I only got excited about it when people mentioned the rock producers and the whole rock feeling.

 

Thank goodness Celine proved me wrong. This album is AMAZING. Very, very very good. It's a terrific job done by Celine and her team.

 

Love all her songs, except for numbers 13 and 16 that still have to grow on me a little more.

 

Favourites so far: A New Dawn (wow, just wow), This Time, That's just the woman in me and the beautiful precious A World to Believe in.

 

Celine never fails to surprise me and she has YET to disappoint me. But then again, I don't think the disappointment day will ever come! LOVE HER!

I can't get myself to listen to the whole cd simply because I love to buy the cd and be listening to it from beginning to end. it sort of is a ritual everytime she releases a new album.. can't break it!! but I did listen to a few. my thoughts are:

rock, dance, feel good- Can't fight the feeling

Positive, feel good - A new dawn

 

well if people don't swarm to buy the album, I'll say they are missing out. She truly has outdone herself and proven once again why she is the world's best female artist OF ALL TIME!

I like the album but I can not see the concept the mixed the pure pop and the pure rock you can make two blocks:

 

-POP: taking chances, eyes on me, shadow of love, surprise, a world to believe in, fade away.

- ROCK: alone, this time, cant fight this feeling, thats just the women in me

 

And in the middle we have got the rest. At this moment I am in love with the pop songs, shadow of love and fade away, the rest are ok but but ...

 

At least we have got my love or skies of l.a. to relax.

 

At this moment I prefer ANDHC, maybe with a couple of listenings I prefer this album ...

 

Ne-yo's song... is it true that he made the song... what a poor song!

 

I am going to bed happy beacause the celine's voice is still alive for long...

Incredible. Easily the most emotional English album she's recorded. Not saying all the songs are emotional, but there are some really obvious songs that she "felt"....and that makes up for her not being "as" technically perfect as she once was. But she kicks #ss on this album. It's SO well produced. It's SO well sung.

 

It deserves to be heard. The only song I dislike is "I Ain't Got Nothing Left".....just too different for me. I like the lyrics, and I would like her voice if it didn't sound like it was electronically tampered with.

 

But, overall, it's a sensational album. AMAZING JOB!
