A New Day... DVD/BD(Blu-ray Disc) Wishlist DELIVERED!

I guess that it will be released both on the DVD as well as on the Blu-Ray Disc. I think I'm going to buy regular DVD edition, because I can't play the Blu-ray Disc on anything

Rumours are it will be released in November / December this year. No official release date has been confirmed however.

 

Blu Ray disc is a stand alone format and will not work on a regular DVD player. You will need a dedicated system to play it. However there is also no confirmation the concert will be released on Blu Ray.

It's crazy thinking back to the start of "A New Day..." and even Celine herself said in interviews that a DVD would be released for all those fans who couldn't come to Vegas. Isn't it remarkable that it's going to take until 1 week before the show closes for that DVD to be released?

well this is all going to come down to money and how many copies this is likely to sell. bear in mind that each local market has to pay for it's own marketing etc.

 

to put a package together like this would cost around £200k. The video shoot alone would be a minimum of £100k.

 

anyway, celine and rene can afford it and we'll all buy it, so what's stopping them????

You know, I think it was a great wishlist, maybe the perfect DVD... But I don't think they would make something so big like this, thinking back about the audio CD of the show...

Guess everyone wants some serious new footage, not used and re-used material from the past!

But to be honest, I also don't think we'll get all that a very good idea though, I still hope it helps to hand over something like this to the production.

They just said it was captured in HD, it doesn't really mean it will be released on Blue Ray.

A little off topic, but is BD winning this HD formats battle? If I pay so much for a BD reader, I'd like to know it won't go away too soon....

Btw, high-definition doesn't actually mean blu-ray, so hold your breath a bit longer.

Unless they're a bit dense High Definition DVD means VERY WELL Blue-Ray or HD DVD. Check the definition of HD DVD on the web.
