Not regarding Celine spasms moments but the general atmosphere that comes from the film. I guess it's made on purpose and it feels like death all long.

The atmosphere is cold, the baroque decoration of the house is morbid, there are big pictures of René everywhere, the ,outdoor games are under tarpaulin, the grass is fake, even the dog is at the end of his life. There is so Life coming out these images.

An above all, Celine alone. It's for sure the refléct of her new life, but it's true that we have seen her surrounded by her family all the time, living with some sisters and their husbands under the same roof. It seems that since René is dead she cut with all her surrounding, family, relatives.

Well so to say that I saw the documentary once, I will for sure not watch not again

This documentary is meant to be watch only for once. The second time you watch it, the emotions will not be there anymore since you already know… The first time i watched it I was crying so hard.

I don't agree with the above. I haven't watched it since release day, but Emirates have it on their in inflight entertainment catalogue so I rewatched it during a trip on Sunday and I enjoyed even more than the first time. I appreciated even more the score, the directing and Celine, I even got more emotional. So, I don’t think the documentary loses after the second watch. Of course is not something you will watch every month but at least for me it was more effective the second time.

It’s kind of hilarious how many people I remember talking about how they had zero interest in a “career retrospective” or “the legacy of Celine Dion” style documentary, are now complaining that the documentary focused on her struggles, the hardest time in her life, and was honest, gritty, and above all insightful. It did exactly what it was designed to do- explain why she had been gone, explain the cancellations, the illness she was suffering from, and what she was doing to try and get back to the woman that she was (and still is). All the world asks for is consistency people!

Glad that it was made like this and made people cry hard when they watched it at the premiere. I think Irene did a great job. Except for the picked performances

But rewatching it again many times tends you to focus now on other things not like seeing it for the first time focusing only on Celine that’s why it made us more emotional.

I remember almost every scene it made my cry so hard watching it the first time. Even that “I think i was very good” part. OMG!!!! And that seizure scene at the end. I was crying and was scared thought that Celine died for a minute.

You can be ill and not isolated. Actually I did not feel emotional about her illness. Everyone has to deal with troubles in life. No I was more impacted by the way her life has changed since René is gone. And this has nothing to to with illness unless she purposely eliminated her entourage.  Can you imagine, her brothers and sisters went to the cinemas to watch the film. Come on ... do they really need this to get news from their sister ? I don't know, that's made me fell uncomfortable, this isolation.

Illness affects everyone differently. Physically, emotionally and mentally. You can’t just speak on it like it’s a black and white situation. Celine’s isolation also started during Covid, and as her condition worsened, I can absolutely see how staying home would be more comfortable for her. She’d already been doing so. Not to mention that being the energetic extrovert that she is, the mental toll it probably took on her to not be able to be herself I would assume contributed to her desire to not be out and about. It’s a complicated situation, and to speak the way you did above about her illness, says a lot about your level of empathy.

All very true. It also strikes me that the more people in the loop the more chance of someone leaking stories about her either intentionally or accidentally. When noone knew what was actually wrong with her that could have caused all sorts of rumours. It was bad enough the few snippets from Claudette.

Her deeply personal documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, has qualified for consideration in the prestigious 2025 Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature.

The Academy’s documentary branch will vote to determine the shortlist, which will be announced on December 17, 2024,
with the final nominations coming in January 2025

The lipsync is not great. I agree with the one commentor who compared Jolie’s lipsync to Rebecca Ferguson in “The Greatest Showman”, Rebecca looks like she’s really the one singing and I thought she studied it very well. As for Jolie’s, she’s more of a more on face emotions with beauty poses like Mariah and forgot the lips…

I just shared it here since Celine wanted this character. I think she could do it. I really see that Celine has the potential to do acting very well if she’s given a chance to have a main character.

It seems that she has talked to Céline lately ?

She said that Celine's voice has changed a lot, she won't be able to sing her songs, she has been in studio lately but doing shows is not in the agenda and that Céline wants to sing more in french.

I read the article and I think it wasn't translated properly. First of all, very interesting interview. It seems like they're friends friends now. Irene said they are in touch very often and know what's going on in each other's lives. Irene got married and Céline helped with the planning. She also gifted her 2 apple trees lol. She said Céline's voice has changed and that she personally thinks a show now is "Premature". The répertoire will be different and if one night Céline can't hit the notes to some songs she will tell the audience and they will sing. She wants more French in her repertoire. She also said Céline has been regularly in the studio but she doesn't know how much of it will be released. She mentioned that what Céline does with jjg is magical and the interviewer was like is that a confirmation? Irene was like don't make me say things I didn't say, what's happening in the studio is a secret. Irene said she would love to film Céline for the rest of her life. She also mentioned that RC works with her. I'll attach the article.

I don’t like the bit of a show being “premature”… but I did say a couple months ago a friend of mine is Vegas said Celine was seen at the studio at the palms Las Vegas.
