You can skip the last 15-20 min, that's the hardest part of the documentary, the earlier part are mostly retrospective parts

WOW.
Now I know why many of those who saw the screenings needed time to fully process this film.
I will have to take my time to gather my thoughts.
I need those two big Tylenols…

Honestly, I feel so guilty about all the crap I gave Celine over the years circas 2008-2020. And I feel guilty that she felt that she had no choice but to perform for us... I know she didn't have a diagnosis for what was going on but if she had come out and said "I've been having symptoms x, y, and z and I'm taking time to figure it out" I don't think any of us would have said anything else but "Take your time. We'll be waiting for you..."
And THAT scene... heartbreaking.

I don’t think it’s a great idea to skip some scenes as this documentary shows everything that is happening to Celine that she wants to show to the people and serves as an awareness to this “rare” disease and what it does to the body.

Of course there are few “pretending they don’t sin at all” tweets. Like bringing up the Celinunununu outfits that she’s a satanist. The vaccines that cause her SPS, etc. you know hating and all. Like they didn’t even break one of the 10 commandments lol

The documentary is basically showing Celine at her worst before she finally got proper medical treatments so it could be misleading for general viewers thinking it's her latest status, when it's all from 2021-2022?
They should have added some text at the end to clarify things.. Something like Celine is doing better now and is preparing for a possible return etc. Or maybe just showing a bit of recent footage so there's no confusion

Weird too there was no end text shown at the end, kinda like you see in "based on a true story" movies. Something like Celine is doing better now and is preparing for a possible return etc. Or maybe just showing with a bit of recent 2024 footage
I think the lack of any of that, a neat Hollywood ending, is precisely what made it powerful. It’s a snapshot of a point in time. She had no idea where / if / how she’s going to emerge from it, and jumping from that headspace to “she’s doing a new show” would have discounted the years of darkness and hard work to get there. Would have been too easy and predictable. The grey area we end in makes it that much more impactful (and even more so if/when she does come back. So I, for one, am very glad it ended the way it did.
The Time Magazine review makes this point far more eloquently than I am, by the way.

She was interviewed on the red carpet of the NY premiere and she was telling the press that her condition is better but she does say that it's a daily challenge, so even though she looks better on certain public appearances she may not be fully recovered to go back on stage mode. People were jumping the gun on the red carpet and telling her if there was a possibility she would sing at the OG in Paris, and she clearly told them that they were jumping the gun and that she still has a more or less fragile state and that she was working to get better but not 100% back yet. Does the documentary show her state today? I would say no because she found the right medication to control it and that is how she can go about her public life, but is she ready to do shows, well, we really don't know what she is facing everyday, the documentary ended on a sour note, her condition flipped from being sore in the leg from 1 min to being paralyzed and screaming in pain in another min and being completely helpless, so only Celine and her team can really tell us when she will be back on stage.

Loved all the French footages finally and the parallel with her actual condition. Love the woman even more. The end is absolutely brilliant. Great job from Irene. There is a lot of pudeur in this impudeur.
I cried all along assisting to the grief of a voice and grieving myself a voice, a stage presence I loved so so much.
I know she is doing way better. Her return on stage still looks for me impossible. And i think keeping the possibility open is a way for her and her team to help her keeping the fight, but they know.
Her disease isn’t enough to break her contract with RW it must be a close in her contract I guess ? Isn’t it already broke ? So she she just sing here and there the way she wants to and can.

But to talk about the people who helped her go far and show a montage of some of those people I think at least could show the person who without his support most of if not a majority of us would not even know who Celine is, bothered me. Yes without her voice, her talent, dedication and hard work being foremost she still needed someone with unwavering support to open those doors so the world could hear and see her. If she had spoken English or even started when the internet existed it would be different but that was not the case. This is where I feel Irene fell down for me as she treated Rene as just the husband she lost. At least then talk a little of how that played into what she was going through and feeling she had to be strong for everyone after he passed. Instead of going the easy way with playing All By Myself. Also It almost felt like Irene and her team didn't even realize he was her manager. Why I wished they really just focused on now.
But the documentary was not supposed to be about that. And Celine has discussed the feeling of obligation of being strong for everyone after Rene passed. The documentary itself was not supposed to be about being strong after Rene passed. The topic of the film shifted after diagnosis and was no longer supposed to be a focused retrospective at all. Plus the fact that Celine herself thought the film was perfect as is, and this is what they released. I don’t think it was meant at all to be insensitive or discrediting to Rene. The focus turned literally to what and who Celine was as a human during production and filming. Period.

How do you fast forward and be completely sure you didn’t miss anything? What an idiotic comment for them to make.

Her vulnerability, the sadness, loneliness made me so sad.
The crisis was so painful to see, and crazy like Irene said in a split second. First she was like giggling ooh a spams, and another one.
As a fan, of all the archival footage they have there was a lot from LAP.
And sometimes I didn't like the back and forth between now and the old footage. Some songs I found quite random. I would have love more Celine talk footage.
But as I've read in some interviews with Irene, a lot of it wouldn't deliver the message.
I could definitely have done without the John Farnham part, recording the video for someone's birthday, and James Corden.
Would think of all the footage they had this was the best to tell the story?
And what's definitely my own fault, I've seen so many interviews and basically a lot was already told and shown there. So some parts had less impact, example the 'if I can't walk I crawl' quote
The recording of Love Again, if we only knew. Gosh we be giving her a hard time on her vocals but she was definitely struggling.

I don’t understand the upset from many of you regarding the segment with John Farnham. This just happened to be something she was doing on a day that they were filming. It’s a documentary, what she was doing, was being documented. Plus, it was very clear how passionate she was about him and his music. It was humanizing to see her being such a fan of someone, and showing her own appreciation for the impact his music had on her life. It was a lovely, humble piece of the film.

Agree! I did not get upset at all with the John Farnham part. I actually enjoyed it because even before I became a Celine fan, I already liked his version of help. And to see her gush over it in this docu was a cherry on top for me. And yeah, putting that segment served its purpose well in the docu.

Aww, all that shouting, aggressive demanding, and blinding cameras flashes... must be nice for someone dealing with SPS. Her bodyguards or PR guide need to be on top of that, the new Céline needs to come with a new attitude/approach, she can't be the overly nice, overly accommodating old Céline, perhaps even skip entrances like this.
And that still of Bear, so chonks

She deserves all the love, respect and admiration she is finally getting. And I hope they find some sort of cure soon that allows her to come back stronger than ever.

I am so proud to be one of her forever Die Hard fans.
She has and is going through so much.
I am a Nurse and I see suffering a lot and I hate to see her going through any type of medical situation and suffering. I just felt so helpless watching her suffer and wanted to help her so much. I am so glad she has such supportive people with her to help/assist her.
She is so brave to show us what she has been going through. She is such a strong lady and continues to be an inspiration to me.
In fact , Today 14 years ago I had my meet and greet with her in Las Vegas
So extra emotional to watch it today. I pray for her.
I think she is getting stronger , I am ready to go and see her no matter what. Her voice was the best voice, in my opinion, ever given to this world and I cherish it and her forever for sharing her voice and talent with the world.
I am glad her beautiful and witty personality is still there. Such a raw view into what she has been through.
