Don't know if has already been posted, but I'd like to share one interesting bit:
DtD) And what about the recording sessions ? The same article from Entertainment Weekly says they were both trying and very touching. It reminds us of Vole (a song from Dions 1995 album DEux).
CD) Not quite. Or yes, maybe a little bit. Yes, perhaps. Lets say that Vole touched me on a personal level like no song had ever done before. It was personal, a very peculiar emotion. Its true that in a way, Will and James took everyone by surprise with this song. Even so, it wasnt the same kind of emotion. But yes, the recording sessions were trying, thats for sure. There was a combination of things that made the sessions go on for much longer than anyone had intended. I was very nervous, I was really uncomfortable. And of course, James was there with his flute player.
DtD) Tony Hinnigan.
CD) Yes. They were practically finishing each others sentences and frankly, that made me feel even more unsure. I wasnt able to concentrate the way I usually do. James came over to me and with Ren, we talked a while between the three of us and it was go again. I was mesmerized by the song, as if the movie, these characters, these star-crossed lovers, had unconsciously stirred something inside me. The song is so powerful, the lyrics are so powerful. Its quite remarkable, and a bit frightening, to tell you the truth. James and Will had really found a way to fit all the drama, the tragedy and the love of the piece into a four-minute song. Every time I sing My Heart Will Go On, and this is where the comparison with Vole holds, I feel a particular energy. Every song has its own intensity, but this one has an undeniably human quality. I think I worked my way through around fifty live performances during those sessions, go figure ! It was hard but very powerful at the same time.
DtD) Maybe thats why the road to completing the song was so long and arduous?
CD) Oh yes. Its like bringing back consciousness to something unconscious. James is really good at that. I know his music a little, he plays with audiences emotions. I listened to Titanic, and what he did on this film is just fantastic.
Here's the link to the full interview, very good reading:

Interesting how fifty takes turned into one take 🤔

I think "one" and "fifty" are exaggerations... Maybe a few takes in studio, and some tryings before to get the song memorized...
But with this interview we know the real demo is voice/piano/flute only, and James build the orchestra later...
And one thing is sure, the voice recorded on demo recorded is the final version released...

But yes, it’s not true that she only sang it once and never re-sang it again. They twisted the facts. And it’s quite obvious that the one take story is not true, because the soundtrack version has a different note at the very end, so that was clearly re-sang and re-recorded. There was also an interview with Walter Afanesief from 2017 in Billboard magazine in which he denied the one take story saying that Celine intensively worked on the song with him and that they did many takes. And all Celine answered was „It’s been so long, I don’t remember“. They created a story that they kept telling all these years.

The Walter story is a lie.
Both versions are the same vocals. The ending on LTAL album is just edited... She never re-recorded the song.

Walter created the story. And its a wrong one. And we have ears to compare both versions. And its the same one. The last Oooooon, I believe it was edited by walter. And the humming part was cut down. So, the one that Walter edited (the voice one) is from the last Ooooonn to the humming part (he cut it into short one) - from the original version it was a long one with 2 hummings.
The instrumentals he made is the album/radio edit version
So, we have 2 versions
- Soundtrack version = made by James Horner (can be heard at the end credits of the movie & the soundtrack album)
- Album/Radio Edit Version = made by Walter (instrumentals and the ending note to humming part.

Celine's performance is so grand and graceful, and she looks sooo incredibly beautiful! This music video will be a classic just like the original official music video! I'm VERY grateful for this wonderful and exciting surprise we received! The ultra high definition video quality is magnificent!
New view counts after just 2 days:
- YouTube: more than 237,000 views, which is really good for a 4 min. and 41 sec. song that is not brand new with heavy promotion and new major radio airplay. As it was mentioned, the view count will continue to improve drastically over time because this is such a classic, legendary song with such a phenomenal new video!
- Instagram: more than 4.3 million views/plays! (keep in mind that the music video clip is less than 20 seconds long!)
- Facebook: over 555,000 views!, 55,000 reactions, 3.4k comments, and almost 10k shares!

I didn't said she recorded in one take...
I'm saying she recorded in one session, the demo with Jamer Horner... And then never returned to studio to record again...
Walter just edited the vocals they have...
Don't you think we would have recording footage of such an important song? They did film almost every song from the LATL sessions...
We don't have it because the recording of the demo was supposed to be a secret, since Cameron dind't want a song for the credits.

There's even the echo on that edited "OOOOOON" to mask the cuting...
And also the whole key change is a tiny little fasted up, so some people have the impression they are different...
But no, 100% same vocals... It's impossible to re-record the same melismas, breaths, phrases, everything THE SAME... even in two takes in one day...

The edit on that last note is the exact same technique they used on the note for Sorry on the ANDHC version for Sorry For Love. Im not sure why people dont believe that the vocal is the same and its just an edit lol.

She and Ren always made it sound like it was a quick in-and-out session, not a grueling ordeal that felt equivalent to 50 live performances its just strange she would say it like that if the only other musician was Tony the flute player.
Im not saying I think she recorded 50 takes because clearly the same take was used in both the soundtrack and radio versions but now I have a lot more doubts about the veracity of their one take and done claim.
Maybe it was rehearsed again and again, they recorded it several times in one-take recordings, then released their favourite take out of the bunch?

In the studio was James Horner and the flute player, so Celine recorded just with the two of them...
From the interview that I shared earlier, I understand that James showed the song to Celine in an hotel room, played it to her, and she tried to learn it, but since it wasn't working, René proposed to record a demo another day...
So Celine went to the studio, they rehearsed it, and finally recorded properly, maybe one time, maybe a couple...
But the "one take" certainly was "one session"...
I believe this is the most accurate history, since the interview was given less than a year passed the recording session, so her memory was still fresh.

I have always wondered about this, and my non-professional conclusion was that there were at least two takes. And for the final versions, they took the same vocals for everything except for the last "on", which come from two different takes.
They do this all the time in the industry. Even the recent "La Memoire d'Abraham" version has bits from the "D'Eux" version mixed with different takes. What is surprising in MHWGO is that they would only have done this for the last "on", but at the same time, the melodies do have different endings...
When it comes to Sorry For Love, I completely agree that the note was digitally extended, but I believe that the ending of the big note in the techno version also comes from a second take. I do not believe that (in 2003) computers could create such melismas from the non-techno version alone. The song is also completely different after.
