Well lets be honest, she had a fragmented world tour (asia, europe twice, australia, quebec etc) and the world came to her in Vegas for the past 17 years...

It wouldn’t be none sense if she decided to do an anti-tour.  It would be daring... and exciting for everyone. The World Celine Anti-Tour... people would be intrigued. And with a title like that its pretty clear, no one would complain they didn’t hear MHWGO or BYLM in the show...

I mean ive seen pretty much all her tours since 1995. Other than hearing new performances from news albums, her tours are pretty much always the same old thing.

It would shake things up. She would step up her game.

I guess you could include a few famous singles, but remixes only haha

The general public/casual fans would not appreciate it. She could obviously include some rare/never performed songs (like 2016, but maybe a bit less since Quebec and France [even Belgium] have a higher concentration of hard-core fans than most other cities), but the show must include several of her big hits/new album songs. Leaving out MHWGO, BYLM, and even IACBTMN would be a big no-no. She would get horrible reviews. It would be a disaster. Definitely not a good move at this newfound peak in her career, with a promising English-album coming. However, I can see an Anti-tour coming to fruition eventually, maybe even with more intimate venues (max 4,000) in select cities, probably in Europe only unfortunately.

i don't agree. She wouldn't get horrible reviews if she promotes it as an anti-tour. She sold out concerts with never heard before songs and release the album months after (EUS). Who can do that? She sells out none-stop in Vegas without promoting anything. People want to hear her voice, thats all.

But yes, she can play it safe and stay basic. Why change things that work....right? It will still be good for sure.

Youre forgetting the 2016 tour was no where near an anti tour. It still had TPOL,IACBTMN,BYLM.MHWGO,SSD,PQTME,Terre,Jetaime Encore,LEE,Ziggy etc, even covers that were already big/ she made her own, TSMGO,RDMH... and  also missing the point that the new songs had appeal as they were labelled as new album songs since the tours announcements with an anticipated album coming out.... and that it featured her most hardcore fanbase, the french fans. They all know up to 70% of her discography especially french stuff. Case and point being in the 2017 tour, RTD/LIAWN and TCOML were toilet and bar breaks with far less applause than even The Reason or Recovering.




She wouldnt sell out as well as you think if she said “Okay guys, im doing this anti tour, no big hits, no titanic song nothing, just my deep cuts”. She would be fine in Francophone territories and maybe the UK, but North America, Asia, Oceania, South Africa ? Forget it. It would be bad sales and bad reviews for a show with $800 tickets and no big hits

Like I said in my previous post, those shows were in cities where she has a much higher concentration of hardcore fans. This is not representative of most other cities where she would perform. Also, the 2016 tour would not be considered an anti-tour by any means, but it definitely included more lesser-known songs, while still including several of her big hits-- it was a good balance that worked. You simply can't compare Montreal/Paris to Kansas City, Chicago, Miami or even NYC. However, I love the idea of an anti-tour, but like I said, I don't feel this is the appropriate time or suitable for a 20,000 seat arena.

If she can pull of a residency show in one city in 2002 and keep it for 17 years.... i think she can pull of an anti-tour in any cities in the world. I wouldn’t underestimate her general fan base.
Maybe instead of selling out 3-4 nights in one city she can plan 1-2 and see from there?

With a new album it would be perfect timing. 2/3 of old never performed songs and 1/3 of new songs from the album. It would still be an anti-tour

but the thing is ..for some reason they feel obliged to cater the casual Celine listener who knows and expects her to sing those songs. I

Likewise. For a tour touting itself as Celine “taking chances,” she could have easily fit “A cause,” “La diva,” “Je cherche l’ombre,” and “Femme comme chacune” to the tour’s Francophone setlist to convey musical and emotional risk taking.

Agree! I love D'elles so much, and it has all kind of songs. They could have even mixed English songs with french one, e.g."Le temps que compte" with "Fade away", or "Femme Comme Chacune" with "Shadow of Love". And I'd die to hear the remix version of "A cause".

I agree with you on that. I think the solution would really be smaller, intimate venues. But definitely after a huge, impressive, and "standard Celine" world tour to reclaim herself in cities that she hasn't visited in more than a decade. I'll be the first one to get a ticket to an anti-tour and I really hope she does one in the future. Even if it's a 2-show Vegas package like Gaga's doing, with some sort of an "anti" show on select nights, I think it would work really well.

She definately can. But there's 2 things: she's too insecure about it, but most importantly: her team is greedy (and lacks vision and variety).

A Cause could have worked very well with the Fade Away choreography. Immensite is written in the tourbook... as was Je Lui Dirai. Such a shame those songs were axed before the show started in Antwerp. At least she did TLDH on the first night.

My guess is that René insisted on playing the same D'Eux, SISDA songs, cos the French public "loves" them so much and she didn't do a French tour since 99

She can do it ... but night after night, I'm not sure. It's on the edge of her head voice, which was more of a comfortable range in 99, but but now I think there's a risk of her voice breaking in the chorus.

Her range has gotten higher and lower but also more fragmented so she can do more but with less flexibility and blending.
