can someone please explain what this book is? is it in english and french? just french? who is the Auther? what is it about?

i only know that it is written by Denise Bombardier, which is actually written in the topic title ;) and i guess it will be only in french... btw, does anybody know if the new book about René is going to be released in Europe? can't find it on amazon

Can't imagine that theyre not gonna release it in English. René and Céline knows that she have fans form all around the world. They're probably releasing it in french at first, because the autor is french canadien, but after they do the traduction it's gonna be release in english I'm pretty sure. All the official biography release at least in French and english.

That's how I see it too Véro! French, than translated in English...and if there is a demand maybe other languages too who knows...

But remember it's not a book that will be release by Céline and/or René but by Denise herself.  I don't know why  :wink: but I would think she wants it to sell a lot and so her editor.  Consequently they'll try to market this book in as many countries and/or languages they can if it's sucessfull in French. :cha-ching: Who could blame her? Everyone would jump on this opportunity, it could be for sure Denise's best seller ever... :)

And can't wait to read that, I've read a couple of other books written by her and she's pretty good actually.  This one is going to be a "mémoire" but something accessible and interesting for every fan I would think. April? That's soon enough...I like that!! :)

Maybe it's not Celine and René that release the book, buit it's approved by then, the agreed on the fact that Denise gonna follow then in the touring so, it's not then, but it's autorise.

This could be fun. Denise Bombardier is an old battle-axe known for her outspoken opinions on the French language and also for some rather provocative and politically incorrect remarks on certain cultural issues (I believe she was dismissed from her position on a Canadian public TV program for an anti-gay marriage remark).

More recently, Denise Bombardier seems to be playing the role of sycophant in the Court of Celine ("the queen appeared...with her dogs and sycophants behind her"). In the promotional interviews for D'elles, for which Bombardier wrote the lyrics to "La Diva," Bombardier positively gushed forth with uncontained enthusiasm and flattery. In terms of entertainment value, this development has both pros and cons, but it's still hard to believe it’s the same Denise Bombardier.

As for "La Diva," my opinion is that the comparison of Celine to Maria Callas is a risky venture. Why lessen or damage the reputation of an extraordinary pop singer by making hackneyed comparisons to a classical singer who had no rivals and whose very uniqueness is mythic?  I hope the new book avoids this trap.

It will tell the adventures of Céline with Maman Dion during the world tour, through 80% of the pages, that's for sure. Interesting!! :D
