Just release that damn song on Spotify, put a lyric video on YouTube. And you got yourself a number 1 hit without moving a finger.
Whatthe is wrong with them?!
And when it's time for another new song with a proper video it's time.
Are all the Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga not with Sony?
Or do they really have something else in store. Because this was again a amazing opportunity to release at least something.
When she was at Sony headquarters maybe we should spam the people who posted all the in office pictures.
Maybe they will get it.

Considering this was recorded in March i dont think they even knew what was going to be the lead single, hence why two diff songs have been shown in promo FOMO and this one

Praising this show because Celine was swearing? SERIOUSLY? like SERIOUSLY? being impressed with swearing by a person who ALWAYS avoided such rubbish language because she seemed wise and funny, down-to-earth.
This programme was literally about nothing. Shoes? i mean shoes? that was such a waste of time and her VOICE? when she was screaming it seemed so ruined, strained. I'm horrified. And when anyone of you tells me this was the way it was supposed to be, it was NOT. It's not that they didn't have anything to talk about: end of Vegas, new album, new song (yeah they "sang" a bit but they didn't comment on it AT ALL not even a phrase like what a cool song you recorded or whatever), new tour or EVEN a new hobby of Celine (ballet) or EVEN a thing that no one knew about from her free time but it was literally about nothing. It's such idiotic to even give a snippet of a new song if they don't want to talk about it or release it because even if people got interested, they will search the Internet and end up with nothing and they will forget about it by the time the album comes...
The only impressive thing was MHWGO but you barely saw her and heard her...
Nobody was "celebrating" she said F*CK or Bit*hes, we only celebrate the fact she is beyond what people like you think, she lived most of her career as the good girl who never said a bad word, the good and perfect girl (and she still is) but at her age and experience she can say and do whatever the hell she wants, and she is a living proof, her fashion and manners tells you how rela and in control she is, the 1996 Celine ain't coming back...
The show is not a classic interview, so they won't be talking about her career and such, almost all Carpool Karaoke are just about the artist singing and that's petty much it, so expecting Celine to talk about ballet hee? don't think so...
Obviously Sony is trying to tease us with the album thing and is working, hopefully a single will be launched soon

Even someone said she looks like the coolest grandma.
I can’t help but visioning how it would have looked when she was dressed like in her promovideo for the couragetour and her hair loose instead of that conservative bun. She would have looked way younger. or with that beautiful l’oreal hairdo.

We know the album is coming in the fall so surely the promotion would’ve been better then? Are we going to get MORE promotion and appearances when Céline is out on tour? History would suggest that we won’t so really NOW is the time to release the new music.
History also tells us they won’t be that smart.

Yes and I appreciate what youre saying, but that formula does not work for Celine... dont think she has had a #1 anywhere in over a decade, she cant just release a song and have it go #1... its just not gonna happen

"While the 1998 blockbuster Titanic and its soundtrack did wonderful things for Céline Dion's career, it did a disservice to America's understanding of her...we saw no Céline but the lovelorn, ballad-singing Céline...
In America, our understanding and true appreciation of Céline is still developing, as evidenced by the widespread surprise at how delightful her appearance was on Carpool Karaoke. But if you look a little bit closer at what Céline says, wears, and stands for, you'll find that she's always been the cuckoo-bananas patron saint of individuality."
THIS. For a long time Céline was marketed very specifically here in the States -- almost certainly intentionally, and it obviously led to great success, so I'm not knocking what worked, but it also led to the general public here not really "getting" her, or seeing her as a multifaceted person, and it's immensely refreshing to see that change.

Also, we all know that there is no more recipes to launch an album now, for every artists. Imagine for a 50 years old singer being in the business for 30 years and coming from a quite bad perception from the general public. The job right now is to redefine her image.
It begun before than that but it accelerated with the cinematographic thing they did for the Tour : It was here the Céline that could appeal to youger people. The look, the drag, the self mocking... And we had this snippet that was totally linked to that with the electro sound. Brilliant. Then in this different context of this TV show we had again a new snippet again totally adapted to the situation with a more "classic" Celine sound but with a real modern twist in it. Brilliant. They are distilling things.
Before that, we had Celine re branding as the new fashion icon....
Well, as said,I understand the frustration right now but as a whole, it is for me so exciting to see this whole process. And that's was the press is refering to and jumping into it to.

Thank you!
I, too, find the constant grumbling highly irritating.
I don't think most on here appreciate just how much of a feat it is to execute the kind of strategic pivot we are currently witnessing. They are doing an absolutely brilliant job.
And much as ya'll seem to think these decisions are made on a whim or in a vacuum - let me assure you, they are not. They are more data-driven and thought out than ever before - it's an industry that has historically been driven by "a hunch", and is now increasingly driven by data and analytics. (SME hired its first Chief Data Officer back in November).
I was just at the Sony Music headquarters here in NYC earlier today for a meeting, and let me assure you, it's a place full of smart, experienced people, who know what they're doing.
So let's stop acting like we're dealing with a bunch of newbies who stick a finger up in the air to see which way the wind blows.

Ps don't want to be the Negative Nancy, especially when I'm always telling them off, but don't want another Sia song as the lead single. Certainly an assumption but sounds very much like it is one written by Sia. I'm repeating myself but I was so excited for FOMO- just kind of song I want released and sends a real msg as her first English proper single from an album after Rene has died

1) She wanted to jump off the boat and into the fountain!
2) She was asked to be part of the very first Carpool Karaoke, but turned it down at the time because Rene was sick.

Seems like about 95% of the viewers saw someone who’s full of energy, full of spice, full of charisma. I’ve been following Celine’s career for decades and I think it might be working against me here. I certainly don’t want to come off as a snobby know-it-all, quite the opposite, I’m very curious about everybody’s opinion.
So when I see this episode, all I see is a tired workaholic who was dragged out of bed on her only day off to ride in a tight car and listen to her own songs she sings every night. And then on top of that they invaded the only sanctuary she thought was safe - her shoe closet. I would be furious too. And I’m not even talking about the language.
I mean the lack of chemistry between Celine and James is just absolutely stunning. The awkwardness and the tension is mind blowing. I’ve attended many events with Celine and watched thousands of shows back in the day and I’ve actually seen her act this way before. Believe me: this is a lady who has been pushed past the point of breaking. Which I’m not at all worried about her well being, we all have our bad days. But to say that this was very well rehearsed and well presented is just plain incorrect. But hey, it got the views right? I don’t know, I know publicity is good. But I’m a little uncomfortable with how she’s portrayed here because this isn’t the “raw and unapologetic” Celine we “rarely get to see”. This just ISN’T Celine at all

I understand why you think the way you do, but I have to say, I think you're wildly incorrect about the whole ordeal. I don't believe they actually "raided" her shoe closet. If I had to bet, those are duplicates, really old/barely worn shoes, or just purchased from a local store. It was an act, and it was so obviously an act (as every Carpool Karaoke is). It's also important to note that this is a different time than when "prime" Celine used to do interviews and shows. She's done the normal interviews, this was her chance to get out of the box that the media, public, and WE have put her in. It might note be "Celine" at all, but that's because this is a brand new era.. it's been over ten years since she's toured North America or even released an entire English album, and a LOT of things have changed in the media since then. She's just adapting and being uniquely herself. I think this is definitely well-rehearsed and well-presented, working in the media myself, and her chemistry with James Corden is outstandingly similar to his chemistry with other artists on Carpool Karaoke, if not better. (I'd say the chemistry with Adele was better, but Celine was definitely top.) Like I said, I understand why you think she comes off as overworked - that's understandable - but look at what she's come out of the past 5 years alone... the death of family members, the end of a way-too-long and overdone residency in Vegas... She's ready for something new, and it shows in this Carpool Karaoke. She's not letting the little things get to her - hence the swearing - and I think that's great.

But WTF was the story about RC’s birth??? Was she making something up trying to be funny? RCs birth was not announced by a doctor on TV! Unless it was some sort of internal hospital TV. Even then, that would be an insane HIPAA violation that would probably cost a doctor their license. Unless she consented, which seems doubtful. . . That part was just reallly weird.

Wanna talk about no chemistry then we have to say Ellen. Every time she’s been on I had hoped it gets better but it doesn’t lol. I watch the show a lot and I can tell Ellen doesn’t care for Celine’s humor and vis versa.

Two of the best segments with the most attention, except for Jimmy she looked amazing in that little dress and for James she stole something out of Hillary Clintons wardrobe.
