I did wonder whether they released balloons. Her and RC always did for her dad,and then each year on his birthday.
I said at the time Rene passed away, there's nothing worse than watching someone you love suffering. Especially when you all know you're fighting a losing battle. There's a time to fight, but there's a time to let go too. I knew she'd get to that stage. When you are at that stage it helps you deal with everything that follows.
Celine, I am so proud of you.

She can give general information, but the things she told him at the very end should remain between her and René in my opinion.
We fans don't need to know every single detail.

Because it makes people aware of how those situations go sometimes. Maybe, just maybe you or someone close to you may be in a similar situation. You'll know what she means and why she told people. Watching someone die is one of the hardest things to go through. Being able to accept and let someone go is even harder. There's still that anger inside. But it's powerful, that moment you let them know it's ok for them to leave.
Celine has spoken about private moments before. Her dad dying in Therese's arms etc. Don't worry, there are loads of private moments that she'll never tell us. Moments that are just theirs. She didn't go into much detail, she said about talking to him. She didn't say what she said. Nor should she. She said just enough. I'm sure when we see the full interview it'll be more clear, and obvious that she's actually only telling us a small amount.
I hope her words and attitude bring comfort to people who are going through hard times.
Talking is therapy, and acceptance.

It's about a 78-year-old widower named Carl Fredricksen and a young Wilderness Explorer named Russell. Carl tyes thousands of balloons to his home, to fulfill his dream to see the wilds of South America and to complete a promise made to his late beloved wife, Ellie.
Here are some sniplets of Ellie and Carl's happy life … til the end:
In August 2008 Céline and her family released hundred ballons in recognition of the fifth anniversary of "Papa Dion's" death.

For those who don't know what that is: Fairies can enable others to fly by sprinkling them with fairy dust (called "pixie dust" in the Disney films). First made famous by "Tinker bell", a fictional character from J. M. Barrie's 1904 play "Peter Pan" and its 1911 novelization "Peter and Wendy".
And this is, how it looks like. And, NO, it's not "simple glitter"!

Agreed. The usual suspects in the press are spinning it as 'final words' because they know that'll drive clicks. But I don't think that's strictly what she said, and I'm sure there's plenty she's keeping private. Yes, she's being her usual overly open self, but it's like Denise Bombardier said in her book - she only really lets us see the top of the iceberg that she wants us to see, but is actually far more guarded than people think.

When I read that I actually did have the thought cross my mind that this could bring some negative publicity....
The issue isn't that the balloons are let go, it's that they eventually come back to earth and inevitably end up harming an animal...
(EDIT! I should add that the following link does have some graphic photos of animals)

I think it is a really cool gesture and I know it's very meaningful to Celine and the boys but I can't help agree that it isn't the most environmentally-friendly thing to do

I understand the need to talk about it but to share the actual words she told René (I heard a clip of it) is just too personal as far as I'm concerned.
She can sure share how she explained things to her children but the last words to René is nobody's business...
