I only got the chance to watch the full event last night and I have to say that they could not have put together a better and more fitting tribute for Rene.  The whole thing was exceptionally emotional and I really enjoyed listening to all of the stories the speakers shared but in particular Dave Platel, David Foster and Mitch Garber but really everyone paid Rene the highest respect.

Of course, Celine broke my heart at the end and it was tough to see what she's going through but the love she and Rene had for each other remains and she's got a strong unit around her who will make sure she's ok.  As David Foster so perfectly put it "We could all do with a little Rene and Celine in our lives."

It was a low blow for TMZ to pick fun at Celine while she is grieving like this and to pick on Rene and how he liked The Price Is Right. That was just wrong on every level, but atleast TMZ sometimes has since things to say about Celine. When they heard her sing Live And Let Die they totally complemented her like crazy and kind of freaked out at how good she sung the song.

They also had really nice things to say about her when she acknowledged Richard Dunn for making that video in a Vegas airport and how she invited him to meet her and see the show for free. They said she was beautiful and had an amazing body after having 3 kids.

Whenever they talk about her, one of the girls who works for TMZ always sticks up for her and has nice things to say about her. For the most part, they pick fun at her because that's part of there job. TMZ has always been known for taking jabs at celebs.

I was a little upset that they chose to pick fun at her while she is going through the most difficult time in her life, but at the same time I forgive them because I know that deep down they like her. They could have been more respectful, but TMZ has never been known for having respect for anyone, know matter who the celebrity may be.

I think that Celine chose to wear a dress that showed off her shoulder/chest area because of the heart shadows that Rene wanted shown on Celine's chest. Rene wanted to symbolize  his lucky 5 of hearts by having heart shapes shadowing over Celine's heart. In order for that gesture to be carried out properly, Celine needed to wear something that made sure her shoulder/chest area was exposed.

I think that's all there was to it. Celine wasn't trying to be overly sexy or disrespectful of whatever is considered to be traditional mourning attire. I thought that what Celine chose to wear was lovely and perfectly respectful to the occasion and traditions of what her husband and Celine wanted and what suited there lives and symbolism's of there love they shared together.

I think they did.  I know, surprising, right?  
Wonder who picked it.  And why that one?  There are plenty more like it on YouTube.  Has Celine seen them?  I wonder...
I note the montage is no longer available as part of the Celebration stream; they cut that off right after Celine's speech so we don't get to see anything beyond the family holding on to the gold cast.  I suspect that may be because the video they showed in the live stream had all sorts of copyrighted material so they can't re-stream it since they don't have the rights.

There's meant to be 5 - to resemble René's lucky playing card, the 5 of hearts. And 5 being Céline's lucky number too. ☺
