And we will all be there to support here in this new chapter of her life, in whatever the new chapter may bring.

I'm sorry for your loss, I, myself have experienced something like you, found my mother on the floor one morning being alone with her, I was only a kid, 8 years old.  so I definitely know how it is to lose someone you love so much.
Anyway, I hope you're right that Celine will begin singing again after she have had her break, I will understand and respect if it will take a month, a couple of months or a year. She definitely need that break, be with the boys, but I'm just so afraid that she will just give up, he has always been her rock and now he is gone. I'm so sad about the news.

That message from Celine's FB and Mariah's message have suddenly made it all hit home somehow. 21 years ago she married him- I remember the day- and now she has to say good bye to him there, in that same Cathedral. It's so strange that their story goes with our story- every album punctuates a time you can remember and describe, every big performance...so sad.

As her manager, René Angélil made Céline Dion a star of international stature. René and Céline’s actions made a strong and permanent statement shedding light on Québec’s many talents and carrying it all over the world.

For this reason and for many others that bind him to the core values of this country, he has touched people’s hearts. They realize that they have lost a conqueror and a man of great substance and influence. He is now a part of the collective memory of the music industry, be it in Canada or elsewhere in the world.

Son of deceased Alice and Joseph Angélil, he is leaving in grief his beloved wife Céline Dion and their three children, René-Charles, Nelson and Eddy; his first born Patrick (Sophie Danis) son of Denyse Duquette; Anne-Marie (Marc Dupré) and Jean-Pierre (Thi Hong Hoa) children of Anne Renée; his grand-children Alicia and Justin (Patrick), Anthony, Stella and Lenny (Anne-Marie), Rémi (Jean-Pierre); his brother, André Angélil; his cousins, Paul, Robert and Ginette Sara, and his many close friends, relatives, business partners and colleagues.

According to his final wishes, his Funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, where 21 years ago, he chose to marry the one who will remain as the great love of his life, the artist for which he had the most respect, the woman who gave him light and happiness until his very last breath.

A religious service will be celebrated on Friday, January 22 at 3pm.

In addition, a Celebration of Life will be held in Las Vegas on February 3, 2016 at the Caesars Palace Colosseum from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

The family invites all those who would like to make a contribution to make a donation to the Azar-Angelil Research Chair for ORL Cancer.

I don't really know what to add to this thread. We all think and feel the same. With the news of Daniel today, Céline needs us now more than ever. Such a sad, sad time for the family. I'm glad we all have this forum so we can be united. Not quite sure why but this feels worse than I thought it would :/ however, the outpouring of support for Céline right now is very encouraging <3

[I Drove All Night!]

I'm still trying to find the words to express how I'm feeling. I don't really have anyone in my life that understands how much this is affecting me. On the one hand I feel silly for being so overwhelmingly saddened by this news, the death of a man I have never met. But on the other hand I feel like it is completely warranted. Céline and Rene have been a huge part of my life for over 16 years now and I'm devastated. It is terrifying to see such a fairytale love story end in such a tragic way.

My heart is shattered for Celine. She is the definition of strength, passion, and love and Rene was her perfect match. I keep thinking of that part during 3 Boys and a New Show when Céline and Rene are giggling in the car and Céline is talking about how they don't have a lot of time to be together because they're usually busy with her career and when they're not they're trying to be the best parents they can be. I'm so glad they were able to take the breaks they did but I'm also heart-broken that they didn't have more time to enjoy their life together because they were busy building her massive career.

Rene really gave everything he had to the world, sharing Céline with us. Knowing that she loved to sing but that she also would've been happy to leave their glamorous life behind and continue her career as a wife and mother fulltime, he encouraged her to have the best of both worlds. I'm so prpud that I get to call myself one of HIS biggest fans.

The world lost one of the most kind-hearted and influential men of all time yesterday.

Rene, with everything I am....thank you! On t'aime!

"A Celebration of Life" sounds simply wonderful! That's what it's supposed to be. Cancer sucks out the life and energy of everyone suffering from it and everyone suffering with those who suffer from it. Cancer might win the fight over the "bodily" parts of a person but can and never will the fight over the "soul" (or whatever you call it in whatever religion) or the legacy of person that suffered from it. "A Celebration of Life" is a wonderful way of saying "Life will always be there and Life will always win."

My aunt just passed away because of cancer.  She chose a song to be played at her funerals 2 days ago and it was a song by Celine..."Tellement j'ai d'amour"...

It's taken me 24 hours to truly be able to put into words how I feel right now.

I was 8 years old when I first heard Céline singing "Where Does My Heart Beat Now." I became obsessed when I heard "If You Asked Me To." I remember my grandparents buying me my first Céline item: the US CD single of "If You Asked Me To/Where Does My Heart Beat Now." I was hooked ever since.

I remember after the 1992 self-titled album coming out and having some birthday money and telling my mom that she needed to take me to the mall so I could buy the "first 2 albums of this new artist." (I had no idea she had a huge French catalogue at that point.) I remember my mother saying "Why do you NEED these?" and me saying "because she is going to be a big deal VERY shortly." I was definitely a savvy 10 year old.

The rest is history. I remember listening to "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" for the first time on my DiscMan and being in awe. Watching her on the 1996 Olympics... freaking out when I found the 3" CD single of "To Love You More" and the import of "Live a Paris" back when import CD's in the US were scarce.

I remember the original TeamCeline previews of the "Let's Talk About Love" album and being floored by "The Reason." I remember being confused when "Is Nothing Sacred" disappeared from the tracklist. I remember my sister's babysitter telling me one day "I heard this new song by Céline Dion that is going to be in the Titanic movie" before I had heard it and being VERY jealous haha.

I remember going to the All the Way TV taping and hearing Céline sing "That's The Way It Is" for the first time.

I remember when she returned with "A New Day Has Come" with the perfection of "I Surrender" and "Ten Days" and then "A new day..."

My first NEW car that I purchased was a Chrysler... "I Drove All Night."

I remember "One Heart," and how "Naked" and the English version of "Je t'aime encore" should've gotten more recognition." "1 fille & 4 types," how much I loved "Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way," "Miracle," "D'elles" and the end of the "A new day..." run.

I remember "Taking Chances" and how "I've Got Nothin' Left" and "My Love' helped me through a REALLY bad breakup.

I remember seeing the incredible "Taking Chances" World Tour and then seeing the "Céline" show in Vegas on the first night that the "My Heart Will Go On" water feature was introduced.

I remember the release of "Loved Me Back To Life." The performance on "The Voice."

I remember seeing Céline's triumphant return to Vegas in August on opening night and being in awe of her newfound confidence.

All of these memories can be attributed to Mr. Rene Angelil. If not for Rene, maybe we would've never heard Céline's voice, watched her career, or felt her impact on all of our lives.

I'm sure we each have our own story, but I wanted to share mine.

I just bought a ticket for her 2/23 show. I don't know if she will return on that date, or if she will cancel the rest of the 2016 shows and the tour, but if she decides it's best for her to be on stage on February 23rd, I want to be there.
