Thank you!!!! If one more person writes about the "Cher moment" I will tear my eyes out with a fork! Many fans here have been comparing apples and oranges since years! When Cher had her success in 1998 it was another era, the music industry was totally different and she was just lucky! Celine will NEVER have a similar success. The closest thing to that, will be a new French song written by JJG and him only. Just like EUS, that became her 3rd most successful French song ever. French people would be thrilled to have these 2 legends together! Apart from that she may have an English single with moderate success in Europe and Canada and that's all!! #wheredidmypositivitygo

sorry, but I don’t agree. You cannot generalize it like that. There are ways to get her to the very top again, and right now the conditions are perfect for her. But for some reason her team is holding back.

Celine had to overcome so many obstacles in her career and proved to everyone that she can do it, and right now the world loves her like never before and they simply don’t want to ride that wave. This is just crazy! What is going on?

Sure she can do it. Her album will do well but the singles won't go far on the charts because now it's all about streaming. That's one of the reasons why most veteran acts don't have hits anymore (Madonna, Mariah, Christina, etc.)

I think it’s time people stop  blaming TC and blame the source. I love Celine but it’s her lack of listening NOT team Celine. I have a feeling in my gut that even they are the last to know updates from the artist which whom they represent on social media/ etc.

So nothings wrong with posting about Rene and EUS, that came from them to at least keep her page having something to say.
The reality is Celine should be the one posting to social media NOT her team, I don’t care about if she likes it or not, she is in the business it should be just a given to use it for her fan club.

And then maybe the new song didn't make an impact coz it wasn't that impactful. 😇

What is this news that they haven't broken? Other than the World Tour announcement in which the red heads went ahead and did it just to claim the "exclusive."
Could she be posting more on social media, sure, as a fan I would love to see more but it doesn't necessarily make a difference. Look at Mariah and Modanna, they post plenty and have more followers than Celine and yet their latest singles didn't do all that well. And what exactly should she be posting that her team can't do for her at times (because she does post things, or at least gives quotes for certain posts. And she has been doing so more this past year)? In actual interviews she's wanted to give info on things and been told not to so it isn't all her either.

Celine could easily not have social media at all, there are big names that don't (or they have it but use it much less than Celine) and still have lots of success. And she's not the only celebrity to have a person that manages their social media.



Truth is it's unfair to put the blame for anything on just Celine or just her team. We don't know what's happening bts, or what they're plans are. We can't say there is no plan and they're just pulling things out their asses, that's a ridiculous assumption to make. There's no way they've put together a big tour and album without any planning, maybe what they do you might not like or agree with but there's for sure a plan.
I personally see a difference in the way Celine's promotion is being done and it's been happening ever since she got more involved in the decision making of her career. I agree it isn't perfect all the time but nothing ever is. There might be team members that could be doing more or should be changed but it's out of our hands.

The buzz of the last weeks is around her name and persona, not about her music. Even if she dropped the single 2 days ago or yesterday, it wouldn't even score inside the BB100. There will be no Cher Moment for her, at least in the USA.

I thought Carpool Karaoke would been a great opportunity since it's shared on many social media accounts.
Though they should had talked a bit more about her new album/single coming up.

I doubt the younger streaming audience is big enough to get a Top 40 hit (in the US at least) or even chart on the Top 100. That's why the connection with Carpool audience would have been the best platform to release a single and make people listen to the new single. But now I'm not sure what other big platform they have in mind. Hopefully SNL... but that's a big MAYBE. Let's hope for the best.

If she releases the album in Nov, def she has Xmas season appeal again. Xmas shows like to invite her to perform usually. But she is busy on tour. It has to be released on Sep before the tour kicks in

Looking at the tour schedule, the album release is got to be straight after nov 7 where she gets 3 weeks to promote before tour starts again in dec
Otherwise makes more sense to release enf aug or early sept the beginning of fall before the tour starts

Yes, true, BUT James did mention it's a new song.

And media did report (a bit more) about FOMO, which was also a new song and has an unknown title atm (with more or less a small mention by Céline).

I think the point is that whether or not the album/tour is 6 months away or 6 years away, the die-hard fans want a hit.

I guess the second point is that most fans have been complaining about her management for almost 2 decades now... I remember myself b*+#ing on the old forum that ANDHC had so much wasted potential for singles (“Goodbye’s the Saddest Word”? Really?!?). So in all this time, very little has changed in her management until 2016-17. Fans are feeling let down because - as far as her persona and acceptance by the general public is concerned - this would have been the golden moment to give more than a tease. So maybe it’s Céline “fault” this time? Maybe not.

Personally I am going to take a break from this forum for a few weeks, because all this complaining/defending changes nothing... besides, it seems that nothing big is going to happen until at least late-June/ early-July. Maybe more of us should move on and take a break to
re-re-re-re-re-revisit our favourite summertime tracks from Céline, or other artists for that matter. Better yet: let’s all brush up our résumés and flood her team with them. Maybe they’ll get the hint!!

As Celine has talked about before, she’s a career artist.

She’s not chasing hits anymore. She knows how to keep the fans coming to her shows for as long as she’s performing. Instead of wishing she’d have a hit, we should be amazed at her staying power and her amazing ability to sell out shows year after year. That takes a true Icon.

In the last two decades, she changed the entertainment industry forever by reinventing Vegas. Before that, she became one of the greatest selling artists of all time and her albums will always sell well.

I think she’s doing fantastically. It’s astonishing to see all the buzz surrounding her, her personality, the fashion... clearly she & her team are making bold and wise choices because this generation adores her and respects her and is always waiting to see what’s next.

No, she isn’t making the run of the mill, predictable choices that so many other artists might make when it comes to promo, etc. but lucky for her, she’s one of the greatest singers of all time with a spectacular personality... So she’ll always be just fine career wise & beyond.

No need to obsess over her management. She’s calling the shots now and I’m impressed. She’s rolling new things out slowly... keeping us waiting. And it’s all on her terms.

Personally, I hope that Celine will release 1 single before the album will be released. Or no single at all.
The album is what counts for this generation of artists.
The managers are building the momentum for selling the album, and more importantly, the tour. All is well.
Only some of you (sorry, a lot of you) disturb the anticipation with your negation.

Celine is an album artist, you don’t really buy 1 track you buy the album, which surely is better? Her album sales prove that’s the case!

I think music videos are still important as they give you an online presence. I feel like radio and music video channels are on its way out.

In the USA the bb100 has changed so much and it’s heavily a streaming/social chart, it doesn’t bother me if celine never appears on it because of the type of chart it is. She’s had her success on the chart, the fact she is still a top touring artist and album artist 30 years on speaks for it self!

Downloads are nearing extinction. 20-30% year-on-year decline, and now merely ~10% of industry revenues (9% at Sony in FY2018).
Streaming is where it's at. Over 50% of the recorded music business and 40-65% 5-year CAGR, depending on territory.

And, a vast majority of streaming is concentrated in new material. About 25% is music released within the last year, another 20% is from ~2017, 25% is material from 2011-16. The entire pre-2010 catalog comprises only ~30% of overall streaming, and a vast majority of that is post 2000. Which is why labels are placing renewed emphasis on marketing their catalogs.

The same buzz and impact like Ashes did. Deadpool was a HUGE promo, the Carpool wouldn't have the same effect, so no, I don't think millions of viewers and curious people would listen to it and say "f...ck, this is the Celine Dion new song". Some of the will think "is she still singing?", or "ok, cool, nice song, I am going to listen to Cardi B, Minaj or Grande now".
