Any tips on where to get free wifi while there as in cafes restaurants.
And any tips on how to beat the Vegas heat lol , coming from Ireland I'm not used to sun or heat lol

As for free wi-fi, a couple people mentioned the Apple Store in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.  Most (if not all) Starbucks offer free wi-fi as well, and there are numerous Starbucks throughout the strip.  A Starbucks is also currently under construction at Caesars Palace, and it will be located directly across from the Colosseum--but, given the location, I am not sure if that one will offer free wi-fi or not.

As for the heat, just brace for it, haha. I agree about buying water and often! Always bring a bottle of water with you if you plan on walking a good distance!
Other than that, just try to limit how much time you are outside, and if you are by the pool all day just be mindful of the heat and staying hydrated. A lot of people in Vegas, once the summer truly hits, wait until night to go swimming. I am not sure of the pool hours at the resorts though, but I would imagine they are at least opened in the evening. Early morning isn't so bad, and evenings get better--but these are all relative.  If you know you want to visit a place that is a good distance walk, then I suggest doing that first thing before the sun is at its highest.  The walk back will be hot, and I am not saying the walk there will be cool, but at least you will not feel like you are melting on your way there (at least you shouldn't, depending on the day).  Always make sure you check the hours places open though, I would hate for you to get up and walk somewhere at 8AM to beat the heat only to discover the place wasn't going to be open until 10AM.  A lot of the outside restaurants will have like cooling/misty machines, so that helps (both as you walk by, and if you want to eat at one of the restaurants and be seated outside).

Enjoy your trip!!!

Have you heard of Evian water spray?  I don't know if you have Ultas or Sephoras where you are, but if you can order them online (Ebay, Amazon, etc.) they'd be a huge help.  It's water in a can, so to most people they think ''what a waste of money'' :P But I keep a travel size can in my purse as it's been getting pretty hot out here in VA, and it feels SO amazing if I'm out and feeling the heat coming on.  Just a little spray can go a long way.  If you wear makeup, it also helps set it when it starts melting or flaking.  I've also been using it before I put my moisturizer on at bedtime, and it's made a big difference.
They have three sizes: one 10.1 oz, one 5 oz, then the 3 small travel cans 1.7 oz.  Depending where you get them, they can range from 10-18 US dollars.

That's crazy! (meaning the fact it is closed, not your post).  I was just there 1 month ago and Munchbar was open.  But, restaurants closing in Vegas is far from unheard of (sadly).

Thanks for the update!

Great location! If you have time after your trip, let us know how you liked your room there.

The Mirage has a Carnegie Deli (very famous, based in New York). I hope you get the chance to check it out during your trip! I believe there are only four total throughout the country (NY, Vegas, CT, and PA). The restaurant website can be found here: http://www.carnegiedeli.com/home.php

The tiger and dolphin habitat at Mirage was under construction for a bit, but that should be complete this month. So, hopefully it will be open in full during your visit.

Mirage also has "Love" which is the Cirque show based around the Beatles music.

Enjoy your trip!

My mom and I stayed at Venetian.  Nicest hotel rooms ever!  But we were somewhat out of the way in walking distance.  The monorail was a complete waste of our money.  We got the 3 day pass for 60 dollars, I can't remember.   But it took forever to walk there, and to get to our destination.  Sigh.

I forgot which restaurant we ate at but it's across from the games and slot machines.  OMG, best caesar salad and blueberry pancakes ever!!! Crazzzy delicious!! :licklips:

Based on your description of the location, and the fact you got blueberry pancakes and thought they were awesome :), I am guessing it was the Grand Lux?
Was it near the Canal escalator? If so, then it was Grand Lux.

Here is the Grand Lux website if anyone wants to check it out in advance:  http://www.grandluxcafe.com/menu.htm
Does it look familiar Mattie? (just trying to make sure I guessed correctly, if not I will think over the other places in the Venetian that match your description).

Good food, and famous desserts (but the dessert thing is sort of to be expected given that it is owned by the same company that owns the Cheesecake Factory).

Everything at the café Lux is awesome, I eat there every time I go to Vegas.  Also, check out BLT burger at Mirage and Grimaldi's pizza at the Palazzo/Venetian.  Those are my fav restaurants so far.  Whoever mentioned the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity, you are right it is so worth it and a fun place to go after Celine for dessert.  I am getting hungry now!

Ballys isn't too bad! I stayed there at the end of the season and it was good, we even could use the pool at Paris since the one from Ballys was already closed. But if I were you I would take a good look on the net, sometimes you can stay cheaper at Bellagio or Ceasars.

I have stayed at NYNY 3 times, it's ok, affordable.  Mixed bag, some rooms have gotten a lot of hard use and were beat up, the others are just fine.  I would say it was not my favorite small rooms but clean and you can get good deals.  You really are not in your room that much so it's ok.  I just don't think, in my opinion, it was one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in on the strip.  However, I've had good meals in every restaurant there an Hershey's world just opened.

We stayed at New York New York when we went. Found an amazing travel deal and the hotel was pretty decent. They were remodeling the front when we were there. I had airline points so I had a free rental car. If you get the opportunity and want to venture off the strip definitely check out Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon. Great hiking, rock climbing,  exploring and scenery out there....and without the drive it would be to get to grand canyon.

Edit: parking garages are all free in Vegas. Red Rock Canyon was about 15-20 minutes to drive.
