Has anyone suggested Barnev as a new song they could do; Then You Look At Me?
I mean, when I read the item about the show ( a page ago I guess on a celinedion fansite)
I read the concept of this show is around movies and oscar nominated movies.
That is why Beauty and the Beast, BYLM are also in it. So that makes this song a perfect fit!
I don't know if it was ever nominated for an Oscar though.. Or there you'll be (already perfectly done by Faith Hill though)

Celine’s Vegas Return
Fan or not, these days, it seems Celine Dion is to Vegas today, what Elvis was, in the seventies – an almost permanent fixture on The Strip.
After five consecutive years of sold-out shows at The Colosseum, the superstar embarked on a year-long worldwide tour in 2008-2009,
visiting five continents, 25 counties and playing to more than 3 million fans. She took a year off after that, for some family-time,
and is now in the midst of preparing for her return to the Las Vegas stage, for a three-year residency.
Simply billed “Celine,” the new production features 31 musicians, consisting of a full orchestra and band. The concept promises to be
one-of-a-kind – centered on capturing the romance of classic Hollywood movies and of course, performed with a stunning, visual presentation.
“I’m coming back home to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and I’m excited about it,” said Celine. “With the orchestra and band we’re going to be able to perform our songs like never before. The repertoire is going to be extraordinary… a mix of timeless hit songs made famous by some incredible artists, along with all the favorites that my fans like to hear me sing. It’s going to be a very beautiful show, and I think we’ll be raising the bar higher than we’ve ever done before. There’ll be some truly wonderful moments… I can’t wait!”
There’s no discounting the stats – Dion’s first Vegas residency, “A New Day…” premiered March 25, 2003. Although originally contracted for three years, it was extended for another two more due to its success. When it ended on December 15, 2007, it racked-up more than 700 shows and 3 million spectators, and grossed over $400 million during its five-year run.
Having sold more than 200 million albums around the world, Celine Dion is one of the most immediately recognized, widely respected and successful performers in pop history. During her spectacular career, Celine has been honored with over 1000 awards. She is a five-time Grammy Award-winner, and two of her recordings have won Academy Awards for “Beauty and the Beast” and “My Heart Will Go On,” (from Titanic). She has earned seven American Music Awards, 20 Juno Awards (from Canada) and an astonishing 40 Felix Awards (from Quebec).
In 2004, she received the Diamond Award at the World Music Awards recognizing her status as the best-selling female artist of all time; and in 2007, she received the Legend Award in recognition of her global success and outstanding contribution to the music industry.
Most recently, she was named “America’s Favorite Singer” by a Harris Poll released May 6, 2010. In great company, U2 took the number two spot, while the Beatles and Elvis Presley tied for third place.

VERY WELL Said!! ... I Also am one of these people. 16 years old From UK hard to find a job and the ones there are for someone my age are minimum pay. If I did have a job id be saving right now for vegas , every penny so my parents wont have to pay for all of it , to show them i have worked for something and earned it myself. I could of been at vegas on tuesday , but my parents are saving for my sisters wedding , which i am not gonna complain about.
It Just Pisses me off that You all have probably seen celine live before and heard the songs u wanted to hear , you are going to see her again...I have NEVER seen her
Ok. Fairenough the tickets are expensive and u want your moneys worth. But COME ON this is Celine we are talking about , she will OWN those songs and u KNOW she will! She will make them her own and U WILL LOVE IT.
and i actually think its Quite Rude that you are all messaging Barnev. Imagine how they feel! They have spent a year and a half on this show and then to hear that everyone hates the song choices. Its Totally disrespectful in my opinion.
ENDOFRANT.

if we didn't know anything until the premiere I guess we wouldn't be seeing this many complaints
this is what happens in rehearsals some songs get cut to improve the show, I really don't
think they are doing it to make it worse, something probably didn't work, and like it's been said
the show will go for 3 years so lots of things will change, I also think is funny
how most of the complaints come from people who haven't seen the show, and the ones who have
love it, fans or non fans as we've seen on twitter.
I just can't wait to get a real review on tuesday
To all the people that will be there, don't forget about us!

There ain't a dream
That don't have the chance to come true now
It just takes a little faith..

Her hair in the studio is identical to the interview which was obviously 1994. I think this video was made after the song was originally recorded & released. Celine says how it's always part of her show because of it's success.

Stop being so emotional about it.
Nobody is talking bad things about Celine. We are disappointed with the track list only.
She looks awesome, and... even if the show is cheap and the stage is cheap and production value is cheap...
it would be ok if the track list wasn't made to deliver to old, old-mega people...
Funny tho... if you go to a 70 old birthday party today... they'll be playing gaga. What they'll accomplish is to get these people to sleep...

Are you freaking kidding me?
Seein Celine, yes, is magical, but seeing Celine singing Goldfinger is traumatic!
Mostly cause she has more than 700 songs, two careers, tons of number ones,
tons of fan favorites, and chooses to sing old, out of tune songs to please whom?
Who the heck listen to James Bonds old tunes? Not even James Bond's fans I bet!
They listen to Sheryl's Tomorrow Never dies LOL....
Some people are complaining for the lack of dancers, lack of stage effects and so on so forth,
I could too... We all know it's not like the AND... but just please, they shouldn't have messed with
the track list

But since it wasn't nominated or won any award, they don't care about it. According to the recent interview for Le Journal de Montreal, it looks like René only consider great songs to those who have won awards or nominations
Hence this is the tracklist we have, only made of ultra popular songs as if the rest of her discography was trash.

Whether Celine sings "Taking Chances" or ACDC's "you shook me all night long" the general public will still think she's 60 and that all her fans are 60 year olds to begin with
the response to the show from non-fans on twitter (which has been unanimously positive) means more than a bunch of half-assed assumptions from fans who haven't even seen the show yet. yawn

Indeed we, at least I, have seen Celine already but it would be fine with us that she is singing covers since we have been to her concert BUT you haven't seen her yet and it should be you who would point out that you'd love to see her own songs on the show.
And your argumentation is wrong.
We have seen her performing her own songs and we want to have them again, that's all. If I hadn't seen Celine before, as you didn't, I'd be really pissed off that now I can go to her show and she is not doing any of your favourite songs.
I don't complain about show itself because there is no doubt that it's gonna be phenomenal but still won't show the real Celine, her repertoire which built her career and have made you wanna see her live! It''s not any of those covers that make you wanna see her, that would be a lie.
I think that there won't be any changes. Alas, they've done everything for the 12th March show and won't suprise us with nothing as big as adding for example Then you look at me or A new day has come and won't make huge alternations later because it's not like with AND when we had over 700 shows. I just hope that they will realise that fans want to hear artist's songs because we fell in love with MHWGO but also FIY, ANDHC, TTWII, etc not with her performing Bond's songs nor Open Arms. Don't get me wrong, I am 100% sure that those covers will be amazing and I don't mind covers in general but this show has just toooooooooooooo many of them. It would be enough to have even Open Arms, Bond's and MJ's medley but we have far more
And sorry, I don't know any other artist who has to include so many covers in his show and abandoning 14 years of career which also enabled Celine to stay in business till these days. Every artist care about his own songs more, at least he should, and later other songs

yeah well thats your opinion. Okay so it was her music that first cought my eye. But I wouldn't love her as much and been such a huge fan if it wasnt for her personality and the person she is. I would go to her concert no matter what songs she's singing and I actually love the setlist and can't wait to get the DVD! Celine the singer is way less important to me than the person Celine! U obviously don't know how it feels
