Celine was beautiful.  Just beautiful, and her voice rich and warm.  I'm very proud.  I really am.

I neverr thought it would be so hard for her to sing, but toward the end it sounded like it was emotionally difficult. But damn, I loved loved the long note in the middle. I also wish they would have introduced her, isn't that when some of us were planning our big moment, "the scream heard round the world?"!!
Sounds like this should have been called Celine through the eyes of the Dead. But since I can't see pics and stuff, all I could hear was her and she was so so so amazing I cannot say it enough hard enough long enough deep enough she is so amazing!!

I'm with you 100%.........  I've gotta believe someone on the technical team screwed up the introduction.  After the commercial the female host wanted to "thank" Celine Dion for a wonderful performance.  Too late lady!  Celine spent her time and money to travel to CA to perform for them and she gets a slap in the face.  What a frickin insult.       Celine sounded magnificent tho.......just beautiful!

Beautiful performance.  I don't even mind that she wasn't shown, after all the Memoriam segment is not about the singer, but the greats who we've lost in the last year.  She did look stunning though, for the few seconds we could see her.   And what a voice! Ladies and gentleman, the powerhouse is back!

I think it was brilliant!  They didn't take away from the point of the segment: to remember those who passed away last year.  They went right into it, and Celine was flawless.  To thank both Celine and Halle after the break was very classy.

I can't wait to hear this perfect new voice in Vegas!

This French interview was amazing!  They recount that the last time she was at the Oscars was in 2007---she had to ask Rene! lol  She says that the Oscars are very special to her and there's not very aware of the films because she's been so busy with her twins.

Billy Crystal said the show was behind in schedule. The networks hate to run over so thank goodness I started taping when Jennifer Hudson's name was announced.

Céline's sounded amazing.  Initially I was disappointed that she was only shown briefly but for those who didn't know who  was singing perhaps people will google the Oscars and the song Smile
