Yeah that's one reason, they treated her 2007 album so bad with just one single released (the second one was the song "Sing" but that was released to support her AID's campaign). By coincidende the same thing that happened with Céline's Taking Chances album -_- . So she was so pissed off about that and took a decission, and to my opinion she did the right thing. But then Sony released a best of album in 2009 which had good sales and promotion, so there must be more reasons behind I think :rolleyes:

The contract she had with Sony ended with her Greatest Hits album. That's the only reason for her leaving the record company.

Maybe you are right; however, if she was in good relationship with her record company aka Sony, she would have renewed her contract with them. She chose another label for a reason... :whistling:

Anyone here has bought her brand new album "A Christmas Cornucopia"? My mom just brought me the vinyl edition yesterday and it's amazing. I was speechlees while listening the album, many of the songs have great vocals and spectacular choirs, and of course that special touch that Annie gives to every song she records :in_love:  :wub: Just love this woman I think ^_^

(I can imagine Céline doing this song :wub: )

I bought the limited digipack edition and it's gorgeous.
The songs are breathtaking ... My favorites are:

1. Angels from the realms of glory.
2. As Joseph was a walking.
3. Universal Child.
4. The first Noel.
5. Lullay Lullay.
6. Silent Night.

The album has such an amazing potential. Gorgeous.  :wub:

I've been looking forward to the release of new material from Annie for a long time and it's finally happening! NOSTALGIA will be released this month as a record and new month as a CD!



I've adored all of her releases as a solo artist -- and all of her fantastic work as part of the EURYTHMICS. Her holiday album in 2010 was sublime -- and it seems like this new album will be just as wonderful. :)

Really anxious about the new album, been listening to the snippets up on iTunes and it seems it's going to be fabulous! We already have I Put A Spell On You and Summertime which are sublime. Can't wait, just a few more days!

I don't have a vinyl player, so I am a bit anxious to hear the CD version, just ordered my deluxe edition with the DVD, should come in next week or so.

I read that the next live video performance will be of "Georgia On My Mind" - can't wait to see that. But I think a couple more will follow after.

I totally LUUURVE it. Since the first play of the album, back the day it was released in 2007 :wub:

The use of sound this woman does is so clever and stands out each album she releases, despite not being considered a "cool" artist.

Agree! She's also one of the living legends, and a so underrated one. Not only does she have a unique, distinctive voice, but also her writing skills to depict daily life, struggles and problems of society is unparalleled.

Only "deffect" is that she takes too long to release a new album :down:

didn't she say she wasn't inspired anymore to write original songs? I don't know ... I wouldn't mind another covers album - she did a good job when she covered Pattern of My Life and Shinning Light. as long as she relates to the music, I'm in for it lol

I absolutely don't mind to have another covers album! She's given so much in her career, so anything she delivers is welcomed to me! I don't mind if it's originals or covers, because even if it's about covers, we know she'll put that "extra" creative bit that marks the difference with anything that anyone else can do. Her covers in the Cornucopia album are absolutely impressive, not to mention the design of the album artwork, in which she also always participates! :wub:

I didn't know sweet Annie and Celine actually had met! It happened during the 1996 Grammys, when Céline awarded Annie with a Grammy :w00t: :wub:
