johnfan you are abselutly right about everything u said or even just completly forget about old songs and just sing new ones it's like she's holding on to songs that were huge and can't make any other hits anymore so just take a break because we want to enjoy her singing live new songs on stage

what i don't like about the movie:
Sorry but why are all the live performances from Monston? It would have been More logical if ia was from south africa, smgo from Sydney, the prayer from Berlin etc ...
Whe have the english songs 3 Times now!
And sorry for me "the DVD has 1 more hour of new never before seen footage" does not mean we added full performances of taking chances, alone etc ... From the concert DVD to the movie!!!
When i bought the DVD i wanted to see performances from all around the world! It's not Celine: through the eyes of monston!!!! But through the eyes of the WORLD!!!

All they have to do is be honest in what they  say they are releasing instead of being so misleading and manipulative about it...and if they say they are gonna release two different shows and represent it as two..it better damn well be 2 different shows. And if they release something thats up to par with all other major artist releases..celine seems to be the main one who always gets the short end of the stick...then thats all we really want. We will be happy. Do it right the FIRST time. Be proud of the work you do and not present some lazy poor representation. Its like they take no pride in Celine Dion at all. We are getting the montreal concert...and the montreal concert with alittle bit of Boston sprinkled in. Im sorry im ranting..im very upset about this..

So I was wondering for those that have seen the dvds of the concerts...besides the audience noise reduction, the intro missing, and just a few of the vocals..would you say this captures the essence of the concert really well? BESIDES the minor complaints..does this show off the show really well? I just saw a one minute clip of TYLM on youtube from the DVD and it was pretty fantastic..but the lip movements were off from the track but I bet thats because of youtube. It also seems the speech on the montreal dvd is LONGER..significantly longer than the boston 20 second speech..is this correct?

I am greatful for all of these releases but everyone will always have one complaint or another. When we heard the boston show on youtube we knew it wasnt going to be a top vocal performance dvd from Celine because those wern't her best nights, period. I knew that.

I also wanna add I find it funny that people who were/are complaining about the dvd are now complaining about this thread, hahaha, I think you guys just really enjoy complaining sometimes haha!

the only complain I can think of now is that it seems they have completely filtered the audiencesounds. And that is stupid, because we are talking about a live concert.. I hope it is not that polished and that it is really worth the wait!

There is no audience sounds in songs like "power of love" because the sound you are hearing is not coming from the band on the stage or Celine's mouth... It's not even the las vegas audio. It's a new studio recorded one, band and voice to make it sound like it's different from the las vegas audio... She entered studio with a flat screen in front of her and sung to her mouth on the screen, just like a cartoon, amazing!

She should win a Grammy for this!

Now... there are live songs like River deep and my love. On these ones you can hear the audience. Only the ones where she post- recorded her voice (to cover the las vegas track) is when you don't hear a clap or scream from the audience.

When I was at the concerns I could clearly hear the aged track of POL being lipped to and now on this dubbed DVD of the concert there is miraculously a new sounding version! GO SONY.   That along with many other songs too.

Sorry no it isn't   which I am very sad about because it is my all time favourite Celine song and I personally thought the performance I saw in London was just fantastic; emotionally and technically.  Ah well, I didn't have my hopes up too much for it being on the dvd anyway.

well as for me i didn't get the chance to see the show myself in person.. cause she didn't come to NZ, it was listed before.... oh well
anyway yes for me i love it, it does capture the concert very well! i love every moment of it

and yes the Montreal speech is longer..... which is the normal speech.. talked about her family with her travel the world and so on..
they could have include the full one maybe not in cd but dvd.. oh well... too bad

Because it didn't fit in the CD?   No more songs fitted in the 80 minutes disc, they filled the disc space completely, so some of the songs would have to be out necessarily. Its one of the good things that Sony has done with this release at last, to fill the disc capacity at its full for once   

But now I ask: since they would release two different CDs of the concert, one for the english tour and another for the french one, why they put the same english songs in both discs instead of combining them? I mean, if they put the Soul Medley in the english CD, why they didn't put the Queen medley in the french edition? And same for I'm Alive, and Fade Away! If they have done that we would have all the songs of the DVD in both CDs

I just hate it that they recorded this on a off night. She didnt have many on the tour but these were some of them. Washington DC was amazing, LA was great too, and I believe NYC was also awesome!

Also, I dont think had much if anything to do with the editing of the theatrical version of TTEOTW, I bet that was mostly if not all the editing people and managment and all that.
Even though there are more flaws then I can count on two hands I still enjoy the music more and more each time I listen! [except ABM] haha xx

I still think it's a shame they recorded the concert after the set list had been reduced and gotten worse. The few interesting tracks that weren't the same old same old, were cut out when the crossed the Atlantic.

Think Twice is too neglected. It is one of her greatest hits, but never included on live releases.

I've Got The Music In Me was the best performance of the entire tour, and I personally think captures Céline's character and showcases her vocals to the max.

That's Just The Woman In Me one of the finest tracks in her career and truly showcases her taking chances music wise and the edgier side of her - which I thought this whole era and tour was about.  

Can't Fight The Feeling a fun uptempo edgier track from her NEW album. The live performance was great (compared to the some other new tracks - Shadow of Love, Fade Away - which was really good on the album but after going through the live treatment got somewhat bad).

What is worse than those songs being cut out of the set list before the concert DVDs got shot is that they have them captured but didn't include them as extra material. To me this is just as unforgivable as not including Fever, Nature Boy and What A Wonderful World as extra material on the AND DVD. To be honest I would trade in all extra material of the AND DVD for the excluded tracks. Same goes for CTTYOTW for the performances listed above.

But that's just me. I'm just in it for the music. I don't care about Céline's private life. Much of what is shared with us (her attempts to get pregnant for instance) is none of our business.

I agree on that Fred, I've just said it in the "official" thread Not only I do miss those songs, but also the dresses she wore in the first Eyes On Me version (red trousers) and the yellow dress of the first MHWGO. Including these material in the deluxe edition (and don't forget the ANDHC remix of South Africa) would have made honour to a so called "deluxe" version, and consequently, a perfect live DVD from Céline. But well, always has to be some mistakes, "forgots" and oversights

I have yet to see the DVD or hear the CD as they haven't been released here yet but from what I can see, they've changed and edited the tour A LOT!

I am so confused about everything really, so they have released the French CD/DVD with the same English songs? Haha I'm a bit slow tonight apparently! Were any of the songs live or have they rerecorded everything??

Sony should sort it out....they MUST know by now that Celine fans find EVERYTHING out!

So I got both today, 40 dollars later. LOL. The only down side the the Taking Chances D.V.D./C.D. is that on the C.D. They don't have the Queen Medley, on it.

Yeah, at least they could have included it in the french CD instead of repeating the same songs But well... maybe its a matter of copyright business with CD exploitation rights.

After watching yesterday the incredible DVD we have, my only complaints are summed in these points:

1) Not having a bonus feature showing the missing songs she performed in the tour (first version of Eyes On Me, Can't Fight The Feelin', That's Just The Woman In Me, A World To Believe In, A New Day Has Come remix) and also I miss some extras with the dresses Céline wore with the first Eyes On Me and MHWGO in yellow dress). They surely have this material shot so why they didn't include it?   

2) The package, again cheap, without plastic trays Barbra Streisand's latest album has them in the deluxe version, and she's in Columbia too

3) The design and artwork of the album... Well, you all know about this . There are a hundred better photos than the actual cover for a front cover album. Also, I can't stand the design graphics of the booklet, with those black bars that prevent from seeing the photos behind (same in the tracklist at the backcover)

But nothing to complain about the concert itself. Its genious I think I won't want to watch Las Vegas DVD anymore after this one

the booklet with the 8 pictures is just a waste of paper...
