Hey Guys,
Just a for more suggestions for finding hotels cheap-ish. I scanned through so hopefully I'm not just re-posting what someone else posted, I scanned though, so my apologies in advance if I do (repeat help is better than no help right??). Whenever I book something I always start with the low-cost booking sites:
www.orbitz.com
www.travelocity.com
www.expedia.com
www.hotels.com
www.kayak.com
www.travelzoo.com
Don't forget to check their deals of the week or whatever they might call it, Vegas is a big tourist scene so there may be special deals on Vegas hotels... the downside to those is that there tends to be details they don't tell you, blackout dates etc, make sure you read the fine print.
Then if I find a hotel that has a good fare that I like, I go to the main hotel website because something the hotel's main site will have deals that the booking sites don't have. THEN if you feel so compelled, it never hurts to call and talk to a person and just double check there aren't ANY OTHER deals going on, ie book two nights, get a third free... Ya know. Check if they have reward programs etc. Sometimes it's a lot of work and can be quite time consuming but sometimes that work pays off with good deals.
The same goes for those booking flights, don't forget to check the main website of the airline you're considering, the airlines are still hurting a bit and so they are still doing really cheap flight deals, those are usually found only on the specific airline's website. And don't forget the airlines that don't tend to sell to booking sites:
Southwest
Spirit
Jetblue
Allegiant
This is the website for the LAS airport with the airlines that serve it, it's got links to all the airlines:
LAS Airport You can link to all the main airline sites and check for deals on each site. Also I work for an airline so if I hear any details about upcoming deals to Vegas I'll be sure to pass the information on.
Don't forget that Vegas has the tram that runs from one end of the strip to the other. Information on the public transit from the Convention and Visitors Authority can be found
HERE.
The
Convention and Visitor's Authority website has a lot of info for just about anything Vegas.
There are also shuttle vans that will drive you from the airport to and from your hotel if it's on the strip. The website with all the shuttle info is
HERE.
If I think of anything else, think of more websites I'll drop by and let you guys know (I feel like I'm forgetting something) but for now I think I've listed a good place to start for those who didn't already know.

Happy hunting!
